Where Brooklyn At? Where Brooklyn At?Wow...back from the NYC already...took a little rest after coming back yesterday to think about all we did this past week. While thinking, it came to me how God puts certain people in different places at just the right time. I guess He decided to put me, Tony, n the rest of our team in Brooklyn this past week and use us to interact with all the children that attended the camp/school. Thinking back, I realize how much God truly does love all of us and gives us everything we need to get through each and every day. Throughout the week, we encountered different problems such as the copy machine jamming, lunch taking too long, u kno, small things like that...although they were small, at the time they seemed like big things because they prevented things from happening. Like when the printer kept getting jammed, we didn't think we would be able to print the lessons fast enough or when our lunch was taking too long to come to us, we thought we wouldn't have enough time to eat lunch and get back to the center for the next part of the lessons. Throughout these problems n the week, I learned that I hafta trust that God has things in control n that He would take care of things...Thanks God for being there with us throughout the week...it was Your love that made it possible for us to get through the week and to be able to teach all the children...
Anyways...onto the pictures from this wonderful week (which I wish didn't hafta end)

So the days usually began with SONG TIME, where the children were taught songs like "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands"...

after song time, we taught them about the Bible. Since we are the first group of them 5 groups that will be with them, we were in chrage of introducing them to the Bible n who God is n how He created the world...but we stopped rite before the creation of man...thas where the next group picks up...(no pics of this because I was teaching most of the time n couldn't take pics)<BR>so, after teaching them about the Bible, we let them have snacks (yay for SNACK TIME)...cause u kno...after u teach the Bible, u gotta give out snacks...

After their Chinese lesson (not taught by us), we took the kids to LUNCH over at a nearby elementary school...here we are on our way to get lunch! (us teachers got to wear these flashy, ultra hit crossing guard uniforms...it was tite!

By the time we got to the school, we were starving...so the kids chowed like none other...

After lunch...we brought them back to the center for CRAFTS TIME. The kids seemed to enjoy making all kinds of things, like painting pots, cut out animal shapes, n crosses out of beads...
Jevons got a little to into the painting of the pots activity...good thing he didn't get me all covered in paint...
After crafts, we taught them math (it took me back to my days as a tutor for America Counts ) n after that we took them to the park across the street for ACTIVITIES TIME...
We had them play different games like tag, red light green light, dodgeball, sharks n fishies (me n Tony were the sharks), n kickball...kickball was fun because when one person kicked the ball...the whole other team would chase the ball, therefore the runner ran all the way around the bases....really funnie!!

on the last day, we took them out to the park area where they have water coming out of different contraptions from the ground (kinda like a water park)...the kids had a ball...me n Tony got all wet...the water was hella cold yo!!
the kids were kinda vicious with that water...Tony had to run for his life...Kaity wasn't so fortunate...the kids got her!

Tony got them back tho...me? I didn't kno what was going on...

so I got dunked with a tub of water n then got taken prisoner in the mushroom prison...
it felt good being a kid again!
at the end, we took a big group pic at the park…

normal pic....funnie face pic!!
Now some random pics...
They were able to deliver my brand new car to me in NY

Tony wondering why the nice lions are there...there ain't no entrance here or nice building!
This is more like it! Nice lions…nice building!
Me n "my precious"
n finally...check out the hotness thas gonna be adorning my back dashboard of my car...ur welcome to come blow ur nose inside my car anytime...tru hotness!!!

What a fun week! I'm already missing them little buggers...hopefully they'll email us (if they can) n let us kno how they're doing!! They'll be going to the camp for another 4 weeks, so maybe we can go up n visit them....anyone up for a road trip to NY?????? |
