| Rose is alive again. The snapped neck is held together by gorilla glue, giving it life once more. Four years and I couldn't bear the thought of the neck snapping once more and so I never thought that the guitar could be tuned to standard. I did it four days ago. Since then, it hasn't greatly fallen out of tune. The zombie guitar lives. I'm glad I hadn't trashed, smashed, or graffed it. :]
I had my first paid photography assignment today by a musician who found me through my friend's sister's classmate. I'm glad I went through with it. Hesitant at first, I hadn't thought I could do well but he loved the pictures and the shoot took off really well. I started off on shaky footing but became more and more confident in my skills as the shoot progressed. The contact Alfredo was energetic, well-spoken, and talented with guitar. He had so many ideas he wanted to try out in photography and was a great subject to shoot. We had talked about our goals in life of a career in music and the arts; there's such a great and long path ahead for the each of us. I'm glad he was the first person I shot. Not to sound cheesy but I feel that I walked away from it having learned much about myself.
I shouldn't listen to the logical side of me. Why should I succeed in only one path in life? I have too many interests in life and they still are growing. Rather than choosing one and neglecting all else, I could choose all. I don't think I could ever settle for one single road in life.
So I won't.
Slow as it is, theory comes into practice. I know more than I think I do. The knowledge from hundreds of books I've read as a young boy is in the back of my head somewhere.
