It's been a good 4 or 5 years, Xanga.  Last entry ever.  Later and peace out!

Freshman/Doolie/4 Degree year's over, nice nice.  This year went by quickly 'cause I still remember I-Day like yesterday.  A lot has happened this past school year, meeting and making friends with some of the best people, late nights not with a girl but with homework, haha, uh what else, learning how to be independent, boxing, snowboarding and RECOGNITION.  Yeah, there's just a lot.  Grades weren't too terrible, I mean it is the Air Force Academy, and my grades would be better if all I did was academics.  I still got three years to go for the Supt's list, and I will make it.  I'll be going back to boxing next year 'cause I find out I do better with everything else while I'm involved in something, and it's what I like.  Going inot different squadrons next year and meeting new people again will be different.  Imma miss Guts Carnie Flight 'cause we've been together since we got off the bus and onto the silver footprints.  Summer's going to be SICK.  Japan for three weeks, Jump/Parachute and Global Engagement for ten days each and HOME for my last three.  I'm just thankful for everything I have.  Oh yeah just as I promised, it is Dead Week, and here are pictures of the Academy.  Yeah it looks nice...from a non-cadet point of view.

Alright, seven more days left of school and then FINALS!  S'all good though 'cause Dead Week (week before Graduation/Comissioning) after that, and I'll be posting pictures of the Academy for your viewing pleasure.  Yeah, it's gonna look like paradise, but it's hell to us.  Okay, I'll stop 'cause I really shouldn't be complaining since this is what I wanted, and I'm fortunate to be blessed with what I have.  But yeah, pictures during Dead Week, I promise.  As for my Summer, yeah I'll only have three weeks at home, but I will be going to Japan for the first three weeks then jumping out of an airplane for my second three weeks.  Basically, LIFE IS SWEET.  I can't wait to go home though 'cause...it's home.  I got some stuff to do and promises to fulfill.  That's it for now.  I'll update again after FINALS.  Later!

A little reminder to myself of why I'm here.

1.  FAMILY

2.  FRIENDS

3.  THOSE WHO HAVE GONE BEFORE (LONG BLUE LINE)

4.  THOSE WHO HAVE SACRIFICED THEIR LIVES

5.  THOSE WHO ARE SACRIFICING THEIR LIVES

6.  THOSE WHO WILL SACRIFICE THEIR LIVES

7.  TEACHERS

8.  THE FLAG

9.  THIS NATION AND ITS PEOPLE

10.  MY FUTURE

11.  ME

P.S.  I will be him again.

First week back from Spring Break.  Yeah, a lot of stuff happened since my last entry.  Aight let's start with RECOGNITION.  Basically, we got our asses beat for 51 hours.  The first hour alone was probably the worst (PICS LATER).  They (upperclassmen) had us doing everything possible.  I know we're the Air Force, but trust me on this one, it was PHYSICAL.  I'm not bashing on ROTC or anything, but sorry 'cause you guys just don't have anything to compare to our RECOGNITION.  Towards the end though, things got better FAST.  We had this cool ceremony where we finally got our Prop and Wings.  We are finally considered upperclassmen.  All of you out there to whom our privileges are just things out of the norm, don't complain about college 'cause you didn't have to push yourself past your physical, mental and emotional limits to earn things like wearing your backpacks on your shoulders, being able to walk and talk normally everywhere and being able to wear civilian clothing.  Other than that, life is getting better now.  I still need to work on academics though.  6 weeks...6 weeks.

Spring Break was AWESOME.  135 of us went down to either Biloxi, Hattiesburg, or Covington to help with the Katrina relief thing.  Just seeing what happened down there gave me a better appreciation of my life.  It felt good helping out down there, and plus everything was free, haha.  We also got to go to Pensacola Beach so we still got the fun part of Spring Break.  Again, pics later.  Yeah, that's 'bout it for now, later.

RECOGNITION...the 1st hour!

Yeah...I was broken and so was everybody else.  SB '06 pics.

That's a MILF in the background...sooo HOT!  Haha.

Thursday, March 16, 2006

March 16-18 2006.  These three days will be the culminating event for the United States Air Force Academy Class of 2009.  Fear of the unknown envelopes us, but as a class, there is nothing to fear.  We will finally prove our worth to 50 classes before us and the many more after.  No longer will we be "4 Degrees" with no rights but acknowledge cadets deemed worthy to join the "Long Blue Line."  To any other college freshman, this is all trivial, but to us, this is our defining moment to earn the coveted "Prop and Wings."  Together we will succeed.  Blood will be shed, sweat will be poured, and tears will be cried.  RECOGNITION 2006.  We are the Class of 2009.  This is "OUR TIME!"

P.S.  The tradition will live on.
