Let me explain

I skipped a class today. Let me explain:

Why is it that I always seem to take something so simple, straight forward and turn into a complicated, time consuming ordeal. I had a paper to write for my Islam class (no, I'm not converting) that was due today. Let's get the details straight:

a) I've known about it since the first day of class
b) the paper itself was easy
c) and best of all, it was short!

How, you ask, could I this 'A on a silver plater' into sleep-depriving monster? Group paper-writing.

"Come over to my apartment," she said. "We'll write our papers together," she said. "It'll be fun and we'll get them done real fast, Mija," she said.
Three pots of coffee and two movies later I was waking Mamasita up after her half hour 'power nap' and leaving to finish the last HALF of my paper in my room.

Don't worry though, I finished it and got some sleep. My roommate's alarm went off 15 minutes after I had gone to bed. You would've skipped class too, and you know it

Mistakes and Misunderstandings

So we all make mistakes. We don't mean to, but they happen all the same. And doesn't it also seem that the big ones happen when the most people who could ever possibly, conceivably be present to witness it sponteniously show up? (if you can testify give up a big "amen")

I made a mistake, just recently in fact. A public mistake. I won't give any specifics of what was done due too a still all-too-recent feeling of embarrassment on my part, but let's just say that on a certain morning last week I woke up in the wrong decade...and everybody knew it.

. What does this expression really mean? I've seen it done in a variety of ways by so many different people in different situation that I'm thoroughly confused as to its true meaning.

A guy winked at me...soo..what am I supposed to make of it? It wasn't a normal "hey, how's it going?" wink. It was an overt "here's lookin' at you and only you, kid" kind of wink.
One of my second grade boys winks at me all the time, but he must have eye spasms or something because his technique is off and his little eye lid moves at speeds upwards of 90mph. Plus, when I wink back at him, teasingly of course, he looks at me like I'm crazy.

Although I have yet to decode this confusing gesture, I in no way disapprove of its use. If used correctly, it is a great method of communication. I enjoyed being the recepient of a wink, it made me smile. So wink at some one today and bring a smile to some one's face, (or a look of disgust and confusion- wink carefully)
