| Mmm...
Your history books speak of Julius Caesar...
Our bibles speak of Jesus Christ...
You believe Julius Caesar exists...
So why don't you believe Jesus Christ exists?
Did you know...in about 200AD, there were more written records of Jesus Christ THAN (*accidently had "and" here first time) Julius Caeaser? That means there's more evidence that Jesus existed than Caesaer...
So why is it so much harder to believe that Jesus Christ existed...yet we, without a doubt, believe Caesaer did exist?
So...where is the proof that Caesaer existed? I mean...are you just going to trust your history book, just because it says he existed? Then why do you criticize Christians that trust the bible where it says Jesus existed?
The human mind...it's amazing what we can see with our own eyes, yet never really see at all...

| I <3 quotes as much as I <3 music.
And if you can't tell what <3 is...it's a heart....
Anyway, I was browsing xangas. And I found a bunch of quotes on my friend's xanga. One including:
"Sometimes when I say, "Oh, I'm fine," I wish someone would look me in the eye and say, "Tell me the truth." "
Ain't that the truth. You don't know how many times I've given that answer and people are like, "Oh, alright." And it's over. Why? Because most of society, even if they can tell WITHOUT A DOUBT that something is wrong, they'll usually ignore it. Why? Because they've got problems of their own.
Oh, boo-hoo.
We've all got problems, I know. But some people just don't realize how much it means to others when you say, "Is there something I can do to help?"
I've talked to a lot of people about their problems. Suicide, boyfriend, girlfriend, love, hate, friends, parents, school, cutting, you name it. And you know what I realized in almost every case? They just needed someone to talk to. Someone that would listen to them while they vented. Will that help everytime? Definitely not.
But even if you can't do anything for the person, at least listen to them. I'm not saying you have to do it. I'm just asking you, if you consider that person a friend, wouldn't you treat them like a friend?

P.S. Tristan, you can't even explain yourself. But I wasn't even talking about myself in this post. It was just a topic Daniel and I were talking about. | | |
| Out of boredom...or more curiosity than anything, I counted up the number of people I completely trust with EVERYTHING, even if I won't tell them everything. The list includes...five teenagers and five adults, all outside of my family...hmm...
Anyway, it's not really a sermon. It's just a funny (and true) story that I think I should put on here. Keep in mind-it's true.
Next time you see a guy sagging (wearing his pants really low) think of this.
Where did that come from? Sagging actually came from prison. Little background to those of you that didn't know-in ALL guys prisons, some guys have girlfriends...cept they're guys. Mmm...for lack of better term, that means guys raping other guys. Well...some guys like that. Which is amazingly gross. But the ones that like it are the ones that sag. In other words, if you sag, that's supposed to mean that you're "available" in jail.
Sorry. I know that's not really about God or anything. But I thought it was funny. And I'm dead tired (no school next week, thankfully).

| "HI, I just looove Yellowcard and Taking Back Sunday even more. I'm trying to be a better Christian. Do you think God still likes me even tho i don't really enjoy church and cuss a lot? I mean, i'm not an angry person; it's just, um, fun for me? It's a bad habit that i picked up when i moved...
Anyway, is it okay to believe in God and that he exists, but not say "Hallelujah, praise Jesus" after every other sentance? And sometimes, when I'm praying, I feel like I'm talking to myself. Do you have any ideas? One of my best friends sais she can see God, and I wanna know what he looks like. Thanks a lot, Doug! I really appreciate anything u've got. Thanx again."
I think I'm going to die of shock. I got an (anonymous) email.
Let's see... Yay for Yellowcard and TBS. ...Wow. "Do you think God still likes me even tho i don't really enjoy church and cuss a lot?" Hey...I may not know ever single verse of the bible, but I do know John 3:16. "For God so LOVED THE WORLD that He gave His only begotten Son, for who so ever believes in Him, shall not perish but have everlasting life."
You said you were trying to become a better Christian, and Christians believe in "His only begotten Son"...so, I say God doesn't just like you, He's madly in love with you.
Mmm...confession time for me. I don't really enjoy church either (not many people do), but I still go. Why? Cause I may not enjoy church, but it's a way to learn more about God, and it's a way to become closer to Him. As for cussing...yes, nasty habit. I'm trying to break it myself. And I'm doing a rather poor job at it...
"Hallelujah, praise Jesus"...Now THAT is funny. In my entire life, I've heard two people (Kourtney and Holley) say that, and they were just being funny.
But the answer is...nope. I don't believe you have to, anyway. I mean, yeah it's right to give thanks and praise to Jesus. And some people believe that you should thank God after everything. I fully agree with them...but it's not the easiest thing in the world to thank God when someone you love suddenly dies or something, you know? So, you should thank Jesus a lot...but I don't think it's a "You must or you are eternally damned" thing, you know?
Prayer. Ehh...I know that feeling. The, "Can you hear me now, God?" thing. God hears your prayers, whether you know it or not. You just have to have faith in that. Now, does He always answer your prayers? No. Why? Because while He does like our plans, He has His own plans for us. And His plans seem to work out a lot better than most of the stuff we can come up with. But, I promise you, He hears your prayers.
Your friend says she can see God. I hope she means that in a "figure of speech"...otherwise your best friend is a ghost. While the actual verse itself escapes me (if someone else knows it, please post it in a comment) Moses asks God to if he may see God's glory. Well, you can't really see God's face...otherwise, it would cause our bodies to die. So God agreed, but Moses had to wait for God to pass by, then Moses was to look at God's back, so that he would not die. So...I really doubt your friend can see God. But, that may just be me.
I know, I'm a little vague. Ashley or Kris (or anyone else for that matter) have anything else to add? Just post a comment.
