This week will be the first week that I actually have every class though, chorus started last Monday (the 28th) and I finaly got my applied voice lesson scheduled for Friday.

The Mission's trip was awesome! When I do a larger update I'll have to add some pictures. Bye now, I'm off to take a couple Math tests and get a new passport photo!

Saturday, June 24, 2006

Heeeheee finally uploaded some of my pictures from my trip! So, if you want to see them, go here!

Graduated last Saturday... scary stuff.. James tossed his hat a bit too high (lol) and I "lost" my parents.. >.< but other then that it went smoothly I thought

Tuesday, May 30, 2006

Ok, I had a decent-length update but then the main land based server crashed or something so I lost it. so I shall summerise the summery.

Barcolona good, bike friendly

Show went well, I'm alive, checking on DVD later.

Cannes was fun, went to see Monaco and got to ride on part of the track, we were literally there the day after the Grand Prix! Found a fountian pen, not the coolest looking thing in the world, but I got it and some more ink and corrector pens.

Woke up to get ready for Forance today... and noticed the ship was still moving. O.O High winds and waves + unprotected port = no dockie = sad Erika Only good thing is I'm not seasick, I took some medicine just in case I would, but I don't really get seasick period. I really wanted to do the corny tourist picture with the tower in Pisa!! :'(

Rome tomorrow, and I'll be home late the day after that. This'll probably be the last update. Bye!

To those who are faint of heart: sit down now!!!

Well, I don't have any excuse for how this happened, but I'm still confused to how I actually did this... anyway you need some background information first. Carnival has been doing this "Legands" show on their longer cruises, featuring guests in the roles of the likes of Elton John, Frank Sinatra, Madonna... and Brittney Spears. So, I've been doing Karokoke nearly every time it's on the schedule and the hostess hasn't seen anyone to be Brittney... so she asked me to think about trying for it. And I, being in a good mood agreed to sing the one Brittney song I've heard the most, just for fun... for not hearing it all the way through in ages, and never actually singing before, it went well. So, with the prodding of people who saw me, my mother and the hostess who would have to be Brittney if no one else was found.. I agreed to show up to the offical audition.

Very interestingly there wasn't anyone else who showed up to audition for the same part so... I was automatically declared Brittney. So, here I am, on my 2nd full day of getting ready for the show... which is on Sunday, ironically.... with an mp3 player strapped to my arm with the vocal track repeating over and over so I can learn the proper timing. The show is going to be like the normal shows, quality wise, I have a costume fitting to attend and also a rehearsal, I'll have back up dancers, be miked and have the full ship band playing for me. I suppose I should tell you what the song is.. it's on of her first ones, which is probably the only reason I considered it in the first place.. "Baby One More Time"? Goes "My loneliness is killing me, and I must confess I still believe, When I'm not with you I lose my mind, Give me a sign" so yeah.. Of all the people in the world to be her in a show. Of course I did play Lily St. Regis once...

Anyway, wanted you all to "hear" it from me, I hope you won't think less of me for this.

Saturday, May 20, 2006

Super quick mini update....

I'm currently off the coast of Italy!! Queee!!!

London was cool.. I visited Shackspere's house (Sp? give me a break, it's like.. 12am here) and all over London its self.

Today was Naples and was awesome.. I'll keep up with my paper journal so I can do a better update at home.

I really, really, don't enjoy flying. I think it's getting worse too. :( I felt like I was going to be sick the entire way to Rome on Friday. :( Every shudder and shake makes me imagine a flying fireball of pain. :( Prayer for the return trip starting now would be good! I might just ask someone to knock me out so I don't have to worry... but then I worry about what that might do if done improperly. :-/

Thank you all for your kind comments! You all made be giggle. If you didn't get a response please don't take it personal, time here is very expensive and I decided pretty much at random what to respond to.

Sea day tomorrow!

Bye, bye!

Monday, May 15, 2006

Unless you all are very, very lucky there shall be no hope of an update until the first week of June, at earilest.

This shall be incredably brief.. my mom and I leave for Europe, yes, Europe, on the morrow... flight out is at 6am or thereabouts.

Only sure way of contacting me is e-mail, first intial, and then my last name spelled out @verizon.net no breaks or funny captialisation. :) if you have my cell phone number, that will only provide you with some amusement, as I put a "long absance" message up. You can still leave a message, but you have to suffer through my ramblings first

The earliest I'll be able to check my e-mail is May 21st, in Rome, after I board the cruise ship

Stress!! packed, yes, ready, I suppose, comma overuse? probably!

Prayers please!

See some of you at Nationals! I signed up for judging today and got the response e-mail!

The rest of you, I shall see at church or something else soon after!

Bye!!! I'll be stateside once more June 2nd! (won't contact anyone until the 3rd most likely though)

Friday, April 28, 2006

Hello all!

Some recent happenings in my life are

Applied for a job last Friday, called them about my application on this Tuesday, planning to drop by today if at all possible. Where? Hancock Fabrics! Whee! I really want the job. Any guesses why?

Earned some money on Thursday and will be earning some next week too. I'm helping Hannah S with her flute since I took lessons for 2 years and she's just starting. Thursday was good, so we'll see how it goes next week.

There remains only about 3 weeks until I leave for Europe! extra money now is a very good thing, after all, I want to be able to get presents, right?

I have decided I need a totally different layout for this thing, I've changed it a bit over the course of time I've had it; the flower and font and new module colors being examples of this, but I really want to do something different. Any suggestions for the header quote or overall layout would be greatly appericated.

So concludes my summary.

Thursday, April 20, 2006

Guess what, all you debate people!

I have been offically asked to Judge Nationals!

Got the e-mail today.. so.. we'll see. it's like 2 days after I get back from Europe.. so I dunno.. plus, there is a potional transportation problem..

Tell me what you think! Would I seriously mess up the results like at some of the tournys this year? *cough*anandale*cough*

Monday, April 17, 2006

A new profile picture in honor of a new update! I also recently got a Photobucket so I'll probably be posting pictures more often, providing I can get them onto my computer to upload them to the photobucket site to begin with... yes, there are issues with that.

In happier news, I am 0.6 lbs more concentrated Erika! Now, before you all go "You're not fat" and stuff on me, I totally agree! I just have extra body fat that would be better off being muscle, both for my personal comfort and for my long-term health issues. High blood pressure and closteral run in both sides of my genatic pool, so I'd best start fighting them now. And as for it being "just" 0.6 lbs, it's 'cause more of the fat is being directly replaced by muscle from me working out and muscle wieghs more, but takes up less space. Mom and I have been going Monday, Wed. and Fridays for about a month now, I've missed one full week, so I can't wait to see what happens when I don't miss a week out of four!

Did any of you hear the storm last night? I sure did.. Wiley (younger dog) kept howling when it started to rain a little.. he's crated near the fireplace so we think he's just getting used to the noise. So hopefully he'll figure out the difference between a prowler and the rain soon.

Time to end this thing, Mom and I should be going to Curves in just a minute!

ps.. do you know that 'ol Sherlock was a druggie? Watson says so right in the book.

Tuesday, March 28, 2006

I'm bAAAak! (feel free to either run away in horror or look really glad and cheer)

Tourny was awesome, really, really cold.. but my forgetting gloves and not bringing a scarf sure didn't help matters. I judged 5 rounds, 4 Team Policy (the kind of debate I used to do) and one Lincon-Douglus (something that I hadn't even watched before this tourny) of the 6 TD teams I judged 2 of them were in the Semi-finals, and one of them was the winner of the tournamate! They were also teams I had given wins to. I timed 2 different speech events, Apoligetics and Extemperanious (sp?) and also the final round of the debate tournamate.

I'll probably type more later, feeling really in a slump at the moment. Hormones? maybe.
