  • Best Mall Trip Ever

Oh my God like I had the best day EVER at Willowbrook Mall today!!!!!!!!  My Mommy drove me there <3 we parked by Bloomingdale's and walked over to Macy's.  Everything was so pleasant right from the start.  When I went to cross the street, this guy stopped his car and gestured like a gentleman for me to cross.  I was like AWWW!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Me and Mom went into Macy's, and we had a coupon for a free sample of a Macy's perfume called Angel.  So I was wandering around lost at the booths and a lady asked me if I needed anything and I showed her the coupon and said I'm looking for that counter.  So then she said oh okay!  and brought me right over to it.  They gave me the sample and I asked how much it would usually cost.  So she brought me around and showed us everything.  They were selling the cutest kits, and their bigger bottles you buy first and then you can have it refilled which I think is a wonderful idea what with the environmental issues and all, plus it's cheaper for the customer that way.  So actually I compared the kits and one came with a body cream and one came with a body lotion.  The cream was much thicker, felt better, and smelled better, plus that came with a bag which I liked compared to the other which was like a hard case.  So my Mom bought me the Angel Kit w/round bag and cream :) it was such a good deal.  I mean normally the perfume ALONE costs $70 something and this was like the perfume, a shower gel, a body cream, and a nice bag all for just like $80 something.  And after this I can have the bottle refilled for only $40 something.  AMAZING!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So after that we walked to NY&Co. where I was treated so well by the staff.  I found business suits there, and this one lady was like an expert, any size I needed she found for me, no problem.  She would even bring me sizes around it to try.  And she was an expert at telling what was the right size, so she would look at them on me and give me her advice.  I was treated very well there.  Eventually I bought 3 business suits (3 jackets w/ 3 matching pants).  And let me tell you guys something.  As Reggie would say, I made out like a bandit there!  Here's the scoop.  I'll list the ORIGINAL, retail prices:

    39.95
    59.95
    46.95
    69.95
    46.95
    69.95

Then there were some specific sales:

    39.95 - 30% off = remove 11.99
    59.95 - 50% off = remove 29.98
    46.95 - 30% off = remove 14.09
    69.95 - 50% off = remove 34.98
    46.95 - 30% off = remove 14.09
    69.95 - same

And lastly we had a coupon for $60 off of a purchase of $150 or more:

    39.95 - 30% off = remove 11.99 = remove 7.33
    59.95 - 50% off = remove 29.98 = remove 7.86
    46.95 - 30% off = remove 14.09 = remove 8.62
    69.95 - 50% off = remove 34.98 = remove 9.17
    46.95 - 30% off = remove 14.09 = remove 8.62
    69.95 - same = remove 18.40

Making the final total = $112.43.

    HELLO!?

I saved $165.13 off of the original retail prices!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So after that I was like omg yay I was so excited the guy ringing everything up thought I was funny hehe and he was happy I was happy everyone was happy AHHHH!  The lady told me to have a good day as I was leaving hehe!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I walked into Bath & Body Works and bought 2 Body Creams (Moonlight Path and Dancing Waters), each at an original price of $12, for just $5 each!!!!!!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So then Mom and I went to the food court and I bought bourbon stuff and she bought pizza and we ate and hung out.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then we walked over to Software Etc. and MY MOM SAID SHE WANTED TO BUY A WII!

    So we bought a Wii!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!

    It's for her.

    But yeah.

    We have a Wii!

Aww I knew she liked the Wii because she's been talking about it a lot lately.  My mom's so cute!  Nicole said that too :).  Mom said she noticed it in the Wish Book.  I was like Awwww!  I just want her to be happy.  Whatever makes her happy.  Coincidentally (or not?), the Wii is the next-gen system that I would want, too :)
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay so then we wandered down towards Macy's.  This guy asked me if I wanted to try a nail thing.  At first I was like ehhh but I was in a really good mood so I was like sure!  I talked to him for awhile he was really nice.  I had no intention of buying the whole kit he was selling for $59, but actually my mom and I were impressed by how the product worked on my nails.  Now I'm like skipping a lot of our convo but he was really nice and you know saying I looked really good and he could see I take really good care of my hair and that like I had a lot of potential with my nails and I actually said to him yeah I know my nails aren't the greatest I tell people I gave up on them and he said oh I don't want to hear that HAHA!  He said you can tell a lot about people by their nails and their eyes and I was like HOW ARE MY EYES!!??  And he said I seemed like a really good person who wants to help people and I'm nice and I have a good soul.  So we said you know we did a lot of shopping so we don't have too much money left HAHA!  He kept dropping like free samples in our bags.  So eventually we said we would buy just the block and cuticle oil.  He said they would be $29.99, or $32.10 with tax.  But when I went to buy the block and the oil he said you know what I'm going to spoil you some more... because I want you to have a good Christmas... and then he put the ENTIRE kit into a bag for us O_O He said he only does it for one customer a day who he likes and that that was me.  I was like AWWWWWWWWWW!  And then he even let me pick which scent of lotion I wanted because they had different kinds and at first I was like oh I feel like it's too much already to complain about the scent of the lotion and he was like nonsense come on so I picked vanilla coconut and he gave me that kit.  His name was Michael which is my dad's name, my mom said to him and he was like it's destiny!  I asked him what was written in Arabic on the register and he said "Life's a game so be like a mouse" LOL and I was like OHHH THAT'S SO FUNNY I'M A MOUSE IN THE CHINESE ZODIAC!!!  And he was like it's destiny!!!!  LOL it was so nice he was so nice that was so nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So we walked away from that feeling really happy and good.  Then we went into the Disney store but didn't buy anything.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Then we walked into Macy's, looked at the Clinique bonus gift but I decided I really didn't need it considering I still have UNOPENED: 2 past Clinique bonus gifts plus what we bought to earn them, an Estee Lauder gift plus what we bought to earn it, Hypnotic Poison for Christmas, many Avon products both already have and put away for Christmas, presents from Ireland, and now the beautiful Angel gift set + free sample, nail kit, and body creams.  PLUS everything that I HAVE opened and still have and am using.  So yeah, I figured I didn't really need another Clinique bonus gift and to buy more stuff from them right now, haha.
So then I bought a Frappucino (non-coffee based, as they no longer had decaf) to share with Mom.  My hands were full and I walked over to the straws and this very kind young teenage-looking girl took a straw and turned around and gave it to me.  I was like AWW THANK YOU!!!!!!!
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Everybody was just so kind and pleasant today.  Mom and I walked back to the car, and then she drove me home.  Along the way I talked to Reggie and Emily on my cell phone.  She also stopped at the bank for me so I went in and withdrew cash.  Then she parked at our places.  I said bye bye to her, and went inside.

    The Following Week
Well in the following week my boss wasn't in the office.  I worked alone in the office.

My Japanese class finished Minna no Nihongo Vol. I.  To celebrate, my teacher said we were going to have a party on Thursday

    Wednesday, August 20th
At home, I finished watching Zettai Kareshi.  Yuichi's birthday too.

    Thursday, August 21st
My mom came back from Ireland and I called her.  After work I went to JBC and hung out for awhile.  I met a nice Korean girl named Hyoju.  We had a nice party, lots of free food, I brought doughnuts!  Eventually I drove home and then visited my mom because I hadn't seen her since before I went to California.

    Friday, August 22nd
I left work at 2PM to drive to River Edge.  I left River Edge at like 3 or so.  I was SO lost, long story, but me and my GPS found our way home.  I hung out with Mom for awhile.  I drove to Ed's, picked him up, drove to Emily's and picked up her and Sarah, and then drove us all to the Green Jade, parking on the side street off of Center St.  We all went into the restaurant, Nicole met us soon after, and we all ate except for Ed (saving $).  It was a lot of fun and we were loud and funny and the waiter was like overhearing our convo and laughing too ahahahahaha!  Then we paid the bill ($15 each incl. tip) and left.  I drove them to th ebowling alley in Belleville.  Everyone was nice there, and I had a fun time bowling.  Then I drove them all to my place.  We watched house, M.D.  Then I drove Ed back to his place, and Emily and Sarah back to their places.  By then I was so tired from all the driving and bowling and eating.  I drove home, arriving after 1AM.  I promptly fell asleep.

Dad drove me and Mom to Kohl's.  Mom bought me 2 chairs, a pillow with armrests, and 2 pairs of shoes.  Then Dad drove us to the Green Jade where we ate dinner. Then I went with him because he wanted to buy an Italian Icee at Rita's.  Then we walked back to the car and he drove us home.  Mom came over later with a gallon of milk for me :) and we finished watching Hana yori Dango 2.  She also started watching Zettai Kareshi!

    Note
So in all my explanations of this past month, I left out all the telephone conversations and IM conversations and emails back and forth with people and like random things I did by myself to pass the time.  There was a lot of that too.  But there's no way I'm gonna talk about all that.  I think I ate at the Green Jade by myself one day too.  I eat there basically every week.  I love that place!!!!!!!!!  At some point, I also bought 2 birthday cards and a gallon of milk from CVS.  And you know I buy gas for my car.  There's a lot of random things that always go on that I don't specifically write about.  The next big thing coming up is the FEAST!!!!!!!!!

    Boss came like 5 minutes later and was amazed that I wasn't late (-_-);;
He drove us in his car to JFK airport
We proceeded to our flight's gate
I bought food (free cuz company reimburses)
    He bought food
    We boarded plane
We flew to LAX (Los Angeles, CA)
    We called さくらレンタカー(Sakura Rent-a-Car)
We waited for a van lol everytime he thought it was it I was like nah then I saw one and was like maybe that's it he's like nah and then the guy knew his name
I called the office and they said they had free food I was like wooooooooooo we're going there lol
    We went in the van
4 more Japanese people went into the van (boss was like I'm sitting here as he skooches over to me lol)
We got dropped off @ the car place
We rented a car (lol they had actual car seats like from cars with the seatbelts sitting in the lobby)
Boss drove me to the office
I met everyone there, had nice conversation & free food
    Work
After work boss was like Dear are you coming with me and he jingled the keys LOL I was like Yeah!
Boss drove me to Kappo Seafood somewhere near or in Torrance
We all ate and had fun chatting and all.  We sat in a Japanese-style room.  Like wafuu-heya?  Or wafuu-shitsu?
Then he drove me to the hotel
We checked in like after 10PM lol
Were a bit lost, but eventually found our rooms
Uh my hotel room was awesome
    I woke up Thursday morning
    I checked out
I asked for directions to the dining hall in Japanese, and was told in Japanese
I got lost and ended up back at the reception desk
I asked again determined this time to get it right and not rely on English
    I found it!
I didn't have enough time to eat everything so I took the main tray and skipped the rice and soup
I sat in the last available table
A Japanese couple came in and there wasn't any room for them.  I was thinking they were welcome to sit with me but I wasn't sure they would.  But sure enough they did come over and ask in English if they could sit with me.  I said, "Douzo!"  and thus started a fun conversation in Japanese.  It was nice talking to them about like who I was, where I worked, what I was doing there and all.  I ate as quickly as I could too.  The meal consisted of fried chicken, broccoli, and carrots with mayonnaise.  It  was coming close to 8:15 so I told them I had to go meet my boss and they were like go go go!  Haha.  I ran downstairs and found him waiting on a sofa.  He asked me if I checked out already and I was like, "I checked out, AND I ate breakfast!!"
So we went into the car and I told him briefly like what I talked about with the couple.
We arrived at the office, and I took a few pictures outside of the gardens.
Then I went into the office.
They had more food!  I had 3 bottles of product, a slice of Kings Hawaiin cake, and a daifuku :)
    I worked for awhile.
I happened to look into my bag and realized I had my health insurance cards still in there, un-punched out!
So I punched them out and went to the other SM to ask about it, and he told me to see the HRA.
I went to see her (the HRA) and asked her to help with me it and she said suuuuuuuuuure.
While she was doing that I went back to my cubicle and then my boss came up to me and asked if I was ready
I was like ahh... I'm having my insurance cards laminated ^_^
    He was like ...............
Then I was like it won't take long I'll go over and see how it's doing
I went over and was like uhhh he's sort of rushing me
And she's like "Him?  Oh just ignore him" LOL
Then he started staring at me
Then the other SM started staring
And the other SM's SA just followed what he did
So now the 3 guys are just staring at me
    I was like ".........Stop staring!"
They just kept staring to make me feel uncomfortable LOL
Then the cards were ready - it's not like they took that long, and it was still early!
I said bye to everyone they were all hugging me and whatnot
    We left
My boss drove us to the car rental place
We each sat on either end of one of those car seats in the lobby
He stood up and the thing started tipping down towards my end like a sideways seesaw >_< I stood up really quickly though so nothing happened
We waited around for the van
A Japanese guy told us to follow him outside
We walked past a perfectly good van and my boss was looking around like wtf
We literally went to the furthest van HAHA
    We went into the van
He drove us to the airport
We were totally early too our flight was scheduled for 1:15PM and it was like, 11:45 or so
We went through security no problem
I checked a monitor and it said for our flight 32 our gate was gate 47A
I spotted the last 2 empty chairs and made a beeline for them, putting my stuff on one and sitting on the other
Boss gave me a thumbs up hehe
We sat and then took turns buying food.  I went first.
I knew that today I had $19 to spend.  I went and selected things to add up to around $19.  When I saw the final bill it was $18.53 before tax, $1.53 tax, and $20.06 total which I figured was okay.  I literally gave the woman a $20 bill, a nickel, and a penny to try and make things easier for everyone.  As I was walking away she said wait and handed me $1.53.  I was confused and asked her if there was tax on it.  She said, yes, we do tax.  I was like, alright.. and just walked away with basically the tax.  So basically I bought it tax-free and it ended up really being under $19!
I went back to my boss and told him the story LOL because we always joke around that I'm poor and cheap.
He was laughing so hard and thought I was crazy.
I was like, maybe she likes me!
    His face was priceless
Anyway then I was like okay now you go
He's like "I go to Burger King!"
    I was like "I don't believe you"
He's like "I LOVE JUNK FOOD!"
    I was like "no way!"
    And he's like "watch me!"
So he goes over and then comes back with this like huge bag from Burger King
I was like..... how are you so skinny?
So I was holding onto my food for the plane, but he was eating his
Then he happened to turn around and look outside and he's like, Dear, the plane isn't here yet
I was like eh this is America (our inside joke because nothing in this country ever works properly)
And he's like but shouldn't it be here by NOW?
I was like, well, there is a different gate # on our boarding pass but -
His eyes like widened so much and I was like RELAX I was starting to say th emonitor said this gate
He like runs over to look at the OTHER monitor by the desk, and then he comes back and sits back down
I went to the first monitor to double check, and yeah it was the right gate.
So I noticed it said departing 1:15P NOW 6:30P
And I was like, hmm, does that mean the time in NYC?  No, that would be 4:15P.  Is that when we're expected to land?  No, that would be like 9P.  Oh, maybe it's around the PST that we will land in NYC?
Like I wasn't understanding it too well, so I just walked back to him and was like, yeah it says this gate and all and it says 1:15P but it says something like now 6:15P I don't know what that means
He didn't think much of it, as long as we were in the correct place.
Then this lady at the desk said, "I don't know how to say this".  I was like, uhhhhhhhhh..... then she went, "This screen........... is CORRECT."  And I felt like I was some alien, completely oblivious to what everyone else was doing.  The screen's correct?  Should it be incorrect?  What is the issue here?  When she said that, everyone ELSE went "Ohhhhhhhhhh!!????" and "WHAT!?" and "AHHHH!" or stuff.  I was so confused, and I took another look at the screen and - THEN I realized what it meant - the DEPARTURE time FROM LAX had been changed from 1:15PM to 6:30PM.  Then I was all like ahhhh shit and then I listened to what she was saying carefully.  My poor boss looked like a ferret he was looking up and around at everyone from his seat cuz he had NO idea what was going on.  I heard her say, we have another flight, flight 22 leaving at 3PM, I'm not authorized to give you the gate number but if you go to our customer service center at gate 42A you can ask them there.
Well, I wasn't stupid.  With the flight number, I could figure out the gate # from a monitor.  Lucky me, I've had dozens upon dozens of experiences at airports.
I ran over to my boss and was like, "WAIT HERE.  Just please stay here and don't go anywhere."  He was like okay
I ran over and checked the monitors - found out flight 22 was leaving from gate 46A.
I ran over to gate 46A, there was nothing there.
I asked someone again where AA customer service was, they told me down at gate 42A with the enclosed glass walls.
I ran down there and found a packed glass-enclosed area.
I went through the door to find customer service giving a customer an attitude and then walking out of the room.
So I stared around and was like, "Did customer service just walk out of the room??"
People were like "Yeah.." and they all looked so lost
I started talking to the African-American woman who the customer service was getting an attitude with
Another woman overheard us and asked if we wanted a telephone number for platinum members
I was like, well I'm not a platinum member I'm just a regular whatever but it can't hurt =D
I thanked her very much for the number, wished the other woman luck, and started calling the # as I walked out of the room
As I listened to the recordings I picked the best numbers I could think of
As I listened to the music, I wondered if I was wasting my time and if there was a better way to try changing the flight, and if they would help me since I wasn't a platinum member, and-
    A voice spoke.
I immediately snapped to attention and clearly explained the whole situation- "Our flight 32 from gate 47 A was scheduled for 1:15PM but it's been delayed until 6:30PM, but there's flight 22 leaving from gate 46A at 3PM" and I like asked if we could be switched to that flight.
She said, sure that's not a problem.
    I was speechless.
    I was like, REALLY?
I was like, I'm travelling with somebody too, it's two passengers and she said okay what are the last names?
So I told her, and then she said, okay, I have the last 2 seats, they're next to each other (at this point I had walked back to my boss who was looking up at me expectantly) and I was like "THEY'RE THE LAST TWO SEATS?????"
He looked SO happy when he overheard me say that to her and I was like okay yes we'll take those!
Then I asked her if I needed to do anything or activate anything for this new flight and she said she was going to make sure eveyrthing was in the system before hanging up and that all I needed was the new boarding pass.
So she said I would find the new boarding pass at the new gate.
I swear this whole day was like some sort of crazy RPG.
I was like OKAY THANK YOU SO MUCH!
So then I told my boss, okay, we're on!  We just need our boarding passes so let's go wait over by the gate!
He carried all my stuff lol and we went over there
And who did I see but the very same lady who I had been talking to earlier who customer service had been rude to!
Her and I started talking and then there was a nice Spanish guy standing behind her, in front of me and we started talking too
There was a caucasian family standing like behind my boss and they started talking to me too
Everyone started flocking to me it was kinda weird
Some Asian guy came up and asked if this was the line for flight 22 and I was like yeah join the party LOL
My boss was amazed at how social I was and how many strangers just started talking to me
We overheard them start boarding the next flight from gate 47A
I was like oh, gate 47A
The woman said our old gate
The guy said that good ol' gate!
    We were all laughing haha
I was like yeah I liked that gate, there were people there, I had a chair, I had a flight...
Lol I was like a comedian I was making everybody laugh
We made fun of customer service cuz they kept walking up to the desk and not helping us or even looking over
I was like, what are they being paid to do, honestly
The woman was like oh yeah just ignore us pretend we're not there
    LOL we were so funny
At some point I found out from somebody that they give us FOOD VOUCHERS when our flights are delayed!
    I was like WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH!
My boss like slapped his forehead and said, that's not important!
I was like yes it is!  It's free food!  WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
He was like oh my gawd..............................
A worker came over with some people she was already helping and she's like okay I'll help you guys come with me
And I started imitating the customer service worker saying "Oh I'll help you guys cuz I like you guys but I'm not going to help anybody else, oh no"
The woman was practically crying she was laughing so hard
We were like, this is ridiculous!  There was an ENTIRE line of people at this gate, and nobody was even like addressing us
I was thinking, yeah, well, it's AMERICAN Airlines, I guess it's living up to it's name in full
FINALLY a worker came to the desk and started asking us to come up
When that happened, my boss was like okay I'm going to listen really carefully cuz I have to know how to do this next time
I was like, next time don't fly American Airlines - ZING!
We went up to the desk and I said something along the lines of "Hi we were on flight 32 scheduled for 1:15PM but it was delayed so I called and had us switched to flight 22 leaving at 3PM and I just need the boarding passes" to which she said okay! and printed the boarding passes and the VOUCHERS!
I asked her if they were good on the plane or just in the airport and she said only in the airport
So then I gave my boss his boarding pass.
I was like can we go buy food can we can we can we?
    He's like yeah let's buy
    I was like YAAAAY!
I just assumed he was gonna stay there and want me to bring it back
But I turned to my right and realized he was walking with me, bringing my stuff!
I was like, oh you're coming with me??
He's like, yeah 'ill go with you!
I was like AWWW!  So what should we get?  Burger King was the fastest and closest
So we went there and I was like what do you want and he was like whatever's $10
So I spotted a meal that cost $9.09 before tax and I was like BOOYAH!
I went on the line while he held my stuff and I asked him, what drink do you want?
He grinned and was like a Diet Coke pleeeeeeeeeease
    I was like haha ok
I saw the same woman again coming behind me!
My boss finally learned a thing or two from me and said hi to her which was nice
I said hi to her too and I was like you should come stand by me and she was like .........nahhh but I could tell she wanted to hehe
I ordered the food and used the voucher
    I waited awhile for it
    It eventually came
    I poured our drinks
He still helped me carry everything and we walked to the gate
    We FINALLY boarded the plane!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I put my suitcase up in the bin
    I sat in my chair
My boss sat next to me in his chair
    I yawned (heaven forbid)
He's like "YOU TALK TO EVERYBODY THAT'S WHY YOU'RE SO TIRED"
    I was like *blinks*
Then the kid who had been with his family behind me on the line saw me and was like "HEY, you made it!" *big grin*
I was like "Oh yeah we did!" *grin*
    My boss was like .........
I said to him in Japanese, everyone wants to talk to me, it's not my fault, it can't be helped!  (皆さんは私と話したがっています。私の背じゃありません。し方がありません!)
We flew, he took out the food for me from the bag and had it on his tray for me, I ate a lot (I still had my daifuku from the morning!)
He slept while I watched Kung Fu Panda without sound
There was thunder and lightning so we couldn't land
He literally woke up and the first words out of his mouth when the plane was shaking were, "It's your fault!"
    I was like WOW
I told him there was bad weather
He was like, maybe we can't go home tonight
I was like, well, I can
    LOL
We landed eventually and the weather was fine
    We each used the BR
We walked out to the car
    He started driving
We went onto the Van Wyck Expressway
We literally ended up in a stnadstill traffic jam
We spent an hour and a half on the same road
We listened to music and told jokes lol
I was so tired I was like blahh
My boss kept trying to scare me by pretending he was gonna hit the car in front of us and I was screaming
Eventually he was like we're taking I-95 South!
And I was like yeah cuz we're north of where we're going!
    He was like..............
I was like I don't know why I said that.........
We arrived in the parking lot in Fort Lee at 1:50AM
    I drove off
I arrived in my space at 2:20AM
Prolly fell asleep around a quarter to 3AM
Woke up whenever and drove BACK to Fort Lee for work at 9AM Friday

  • Weekend

    Saturday
Dad drove Mom and I to Nicole's place in Kearny
Nicole came into the car & we waited a minute for her dad, my dad introduced himself etc. hehe
I receive Yi's memory card gift in a cute case.  I looked at it and it looked exactly the same as the one I had before.  I then tried it in my camera - it worked perfectly!  YAY I RECEIVED A FREE 2GB SD MEMORY CARD COMPLETE WITH A CASE!
Dad drove us to the Meadowlands
We went in and watched the Hambletonian!  Nicole, Mom, Dad, and I placed bets on horses!  I took pictures of the horses and of us too.  I had so much fun at the races.  It was exciting figuring out which horses to bet on, and watching them go!
After Race 13 Dad drove Nicole back to her place, and then us to a buffet that was closed lol
So he drove us to the Green Jade
We ate at the Green Jade
    Dad drove me home
I ran upstairs and took the fastest shower EVAR
I put on my makeup the fastest I EVAR have
I drove to the high school the fastest EVAR
I parked on the street right by the band room entrance
I ran through that maze of a school
    I eventually reached the lobby
    Bought a ticket
Went in to sit next to Emily and see the Talent Time showing of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"
    It was awesome!
Afterwards I said hi to a lot of people including Barbara who I hadn't seen in like 6 years
I drove home and Emily followed me w/Ed
I used my BR (TMI? lol)
I went back outside & into Em's car
She drove us to HER place where we picked up Sarah (who had driven home in her car, which used to be Emily's car @_@)
Emily drove all of us (Pharaoh [Ed], Sarah, and I) to the director Jim's place in North Arlington
I went inside the house and up the stairs to their floor
AJ made me a pink martini
AJ made me a cranberry vodka
I drank 2 Smirnoff Ices - Strawberry Acai
    I drank 1 Smirnoff Ice - Raspberry
I was drunk, yet remembered what I drank...
I had an AWESOME time there!  I had so much fun!!!!  Like for the first few minutes I was like uhh but then I realized I knew quite a few of the people there besides who I came with, like Izzy and Pete, Cataldo, Pat, Laura, Ralph, Mike, Mike 2 haha, Jim, & James.  I sat at a table and overheard people talking about video games, and I brought up the fact that I liked video games, and thus started an awesome epic conversation about like, every video game ever invented haha!  It was so refreshing and nice to talk to people with really similar interests and to just finally like, RELAX!  I met this awesome guy named Brendan who was really cool and talked to me a lot about them.  I also met Pedro there who I think I met before at the picnic but I had never really talked to him or formally introduced myself.  Like a lot of the people I know by face but never had the chance to talk to, so I'm glad that my outgoing self went to the party and finally talked to everybody lol.  I mean it was great it was like being back in high schoo lAND MSU again.  I was able to talk about video games and some anime, I had 5 drinks and I was in lala land with people who liked video games and two arcade machines.  ^_^  It was SO much fun it had been so long since I went to a nice party/gathering like that!  I arrived home like around 3:30AM.

    Sunday
Well, I technically arrived home Sunday morning, DRUNK as anything.
    I fell asleep.
I woke up to my phone.
My parents wanted to go down the shore.
    So we went!

    We walked on the boardwalk.
    The weather was BEAUTIFUL.
I had a really lovely time with my parents.
We went into several shops and arcades and a restaurant too to look around.
    I took pictures!
It was a lot of fun being there!
    It was relaxing, and pretty.
We then went to the Nevada Diner in Bloomfield.
DAMARIS HICKS AND TIFFANY VEGA WERE THERE!  (My old friends from elementary school).  So I went over and talked to them.
    Later we went home
Mom came over and watched Hana Yori Dango

    Monday (today)
    Worked.  It was funny lol
I stayed @ work until 7:06PM, then checked Mom into her flight for tomorrow.  Hadda call her for her passport # though lol.  Printed everything for her.  Then left like around 7:20 or so.
Went home to take pics of her bag cuz I'm insane
    Went to parents' place
Presented Mom with 2 gifts: Her new bag that I bought for her, and her boarding passes & receipt
Mom has done so much for me lately to help me like in general and for my trip before she goes away on her trip.  I'm really so grateful to her for all that she does for me.
I ate over at their place.
They helped me bring stuff from there to my place.
I said goodbye to Mom because I won't see her tomorrow before she flies to Ireland
    I took a bath
    I am typing this entry
I didn't pack yet... Trip is Wednesday.

    Drove home
Watched about 5 minutes of "So You Think You Can Dance", only to find that my favorite guy was going home :(

    Friday
Worked with my crazy Japanese boss
DURING LUNCH, I DROVE TO BATTEN RAMEN ALL BY MYSELF
People were nice and helped me understand the meter lol.  I ended up spending 75 cents instead of 50 cents cuz it didn't print me a ticket for some reason the first time, but I found a quarter in the coin return... I figured it was worth the extra darn quarter rather than having a $50 ticket.  So I just left a cheap tip later HAHA
I ate at batten Ramen which was delicious as usual.  I ordered their Friday special which was their signature ramen (delicious except for the fact that there was half an egg in it, which I promptly removed and threw away.  Can't tell you guys how many eggs I've put in the trash in my life.... Next time I'll have to remember to ask for it without a stupid egg.  Ugh eggs are disgusting) and a mini katsu curry set.  What was awesome was that it's basically what I ordered at Mitsuwa, just with a smaller katsu set, but it's like the same exact price.  I love Batten Ramen because it's really close to my job and has some good Japanese food.  So the bill was like, $9.99 and maybe there was tax to make it $10-something, but I just left $11 after the parking thing lol.
I walked to the bakery and bought cream puffs for me and my boss
I DROVE BACK ALL BY MYSELF
Reggie IMed me through Gmail about tomorrow cuz it's his birthday - I said we're going to the Hambiltonian
Drove home, on the way stopped at the Bank of America ATM and awesomely received gas
I called Reggie about tomorrow for his birthday, had to leave a voicemail message
Emily called about Talent Time which I did remember was starting Thursday night and was on Friday night and would be on Saturday night and blahblah - I said thanks but I'll pass for Friday night, but think I'll go on Saturday night
Mom came over and we watched Hana Yori Dango

    Saturday (today)
I'm planning on driving my mom to the Hambiltonian
I remembered that I never received the memory card from Yi, and it would be nice to take pics at the horse races today....
I IMed with Nicole - she wants to go to the horse races!
    I called Yi
    I IMed with Nicole
    I called Yi
    I IMed with Nicole
Basically the end result is, Nicole is being awesome and is walking to Yi's place to pick up the memory card for me, to save me driving there now because Yi is going into NYC soon.  Then I will drive my mom to Nicole's place and pick her up on the way to the horse races!
I also tried calling Reggie again about today for his birthday, but had to leave a voicemail message again
So now the plan for ME is:
    Prepare for going out
    Drive Mom to Nicole's
Pick up Nicole & receive Yi's memory card gift
    Drive to the Meadowlands
    Go watch the Hambo
    Drive everyone... somewhere
Eventually go see the Talent Time showing of "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" tonight at Bloomfield High School with Emily, possibly Nicole and Reggie, and others
    MAYBE do something afterwards?

  • Weekend

    Monday - Friday
Work was awesome, my boss said "Dear, after the meeting let's go to lunch.  I'll treat you!" :) and he even bought me a cake on Friday.

    Friday
After work I was like really lazy I think.
Well kinda all week I'd been calling friends, and I prolly talked to ppl on Friday night.
I mighta visited my parents, I don't really remember anymore what I did on Friday.
    I don't think I went anywhere.
    I think I played Tekken 5.

    Saturday
    I woke up at 8:33AM.
I think I played video games or something.
    Probably called people.
Found out from Mom about the Mt. Carmel Feast.
I drove Mom to Yi's place, picked up Yi, drove them to Montclair, someone was pulling out on the street so I took that space, and we went to the festival.
Yi took lots of pictures for me :)
    We had fun there.
Listened to good Italian festival music and left it as a voicemail to a bunch of my friends LOL
I bought amazingly cheap things at the flea market.
Then I drove Yi back to her place, and I drove Mom home.
Then I went to my parents' place and helped Mom with stuff.
Then I was IMing with Yuichi and arranged to talk to him Sunday morning @ 9AM.
I went to my apartment like after midnight and was sooooooooooo tired.

    Sunday (today)
    I overslept!
    I woke up at 9:24AM.
But luckily it timed itself perfectly with Yuichi.
He called me and we talked for about an hour and a half.
After we were finished with our convo, I called my mom.
She came over and brought some stuff for me, and we watched Hana yori Dango together.
Emily called during it cuz I'd made plans with her earlier in the week to go see Dark Knight.
Turned out we both had the same idea to scrap going to the movies and instead rent - enter my idea - Batman Begins!!!!!
So she went and it turned out that the store was out of ALL the Batman movies, so after a lot of thinking we decided to rent Spiderman 2 and order pizza.
So Mom and I watched up until the last episode of Hana yori Dango which was a little after 2PM, and then she went home.
Then eventually Emily came over with Spiderman 2!
Then I called Vinnie's and placed an order for pizza.
Then we watched ep. 11 of Hana Kimi.
    Then we started Spiderman 2.
    Then the pizza arrived!
Then we ate and watched the movie.
    Then we watched bloopers.
Then we watched the last episode of HanaKimi.
Then Emily went home :( hehe it was already 8:30PM on a Sunday night though.
There's still 2 slices of pizza left over!

I kinda felt weird all weekend.  Like, tired, dizzy, lightheaded, SLIGHTLY gloomy but not really.  Just sort of bleh.  I think I didn't eat right at all.  I'm not eating a lot lately which is probably going to affect my mood.  But at least I'm losing weight!

I also didn't drink any alcohol this weekend, which would explain the more serious feelings and stuff.  I want to drink alcohol but I don't have any right now.  I guess it's just as well because it's not really good for you, but when I drink it really makes me so happy.  I look forward to drinking, teehee.

Lastly, besides going to the festival at like 6:30PM on Saturday, I was indoors from the time I got home Friday until now.  Being shut in will make you depressed.

So, I dunno what my upcoming plans are.  Um, it'd be cool if I could get a bunch of ppl to go to one of those NYC Japanese clubs.  I still gotta research them more...

I gotta do my Japanese homework too....

I just feel a lot more unmotivated lately than usual...

I was also thinking about how I really wanna meet a guy and start dating again.  I used to hang out with lots of guys and now I hardly see any guys.  And definitely no new guys.

Well of course there's also my wanting to go to Japan, but that's like, just a dream, it's probably not able to happen with my job.  Although I can't say that for sure.  I mean there's more of a likelihood that I would go to Japan through my job than most other jobs in America.  I speak Japanese everyday, and like, most of the company is Japanese workers, and we're based in Japan and all.  Who knows, maybe if I work hard at learning the language I could go back to Japan.  I AM content with things here in a lot of ways; I love my family, friends, and my job.  But the general lifestyle and everyday little things, just the environment and way of life in America, is something I don't ALWAYS like.  I mean some things are better in NJ than in Japan, that's for sure.  But the things that are better in Japan... I think they end up outweighing things that I prefer here.  Sometimes I wanna just jump on a plane and go to Osaka.  Well the next time I go it'd probably be to Tokyo but, yeah, it's a small country so it's easy enough to get around.

Well my life in America is already taking shape, I mean, I have a warm, loving family, a lot of friends, a career going w/a good salary, health insurance and other benefits, my own apartment, own landline & cell phone, own car & license, GPS, nice computer w/internet, external w/all my fun shows and stuff, camera, video games galore, and the promise of moving into a nice area near my job.  All things considered, I should be so happy and content with my life.  I'm not wanting in any technology category really.  But like, I'm still discontent and I can't really explain why.  When I look around at strangers, I'm not impressed by like anybody I see.  I feel no companionship; you know how even when you're in a crowd with people you don't know, you sorta feel good like there's a nice energy in the air?  I don't feel that anymore.  I mean I'm polite to strangers but I dunno, I'm just not interested in anybody around.  Like it's so depressing sometimes that I can't find a guy that I like here.  The few times me and my friends went out, I sorta checked around, and all the guys were so unattractive, they're either guids or old-looking and balding or fat or ghetto or just not really attractive, or they're gay.  BLAH I mean I KNOW there MUSt be guys SOMEWHERE around here but like I don't see them!!!!  Where are they???????  Where are they all hiding?????????????  Where should I go??  Well I mean that's part of the reason I wanna go to these clubs.  I am long overdue for a night out with some hot guys!

Thank goodness work is enjoyable.  I look forward to that everyday actually.  Sometimes it's almost like backwards of most people; I look forward to work, then the weekend comes and I have to think about what to do and never know what's gonna happen, lol.

Weekends are usually impromptu, spontaneous, and fun, but sans hotties.

This weekend was a little quieter but was still nice because I was able to spend it with important people.

I hate drinking and driving.  It's so hard to get drunk now cuz like how ya gonna go anywhere without a car?  It's not like Japan where we could walk drunk through the streets like it was nothing.  I felt so much safer in Japan than I do here.  I don't even wanna walk outside by myself here.  Japan was like a playground to me, I just wandered everywhere like it was nothing.  I was so free!  It was the most amazing time of my life.  I was thinking, even if I go back to Japan and work, it's gonna be different than when I was there as an exchange student.  Cuz I'd be working possibly long hours, and you know, not have as much free time.

Well I have neither the time nor money to go to Japan.

  • Weekend

    Friday
    Work was awesome
    Drove home from work
    Nicole drove to my place
We walked from my place to Vinnie's
I ordered a slice w/extra cheese & Snapple, Nicole ordered a reg. slice & water
We walked to CVS's lot, sat down on a curb & ate
We watched the Foley Field fireworks
We walked back to my place.  Along the way I called Stephen to ask if he wanted to hang out & he said sure
Nicole and I waited at my place for Stephen
He came upstairs, and we hung out a bit
    Reggie called
I remembered Emily was working at the Clifton Commons Barnes & Noble's until midnight
Stephen drove me to Clifton Commons, Nicole followed us in her car
We stood outside the store acting like morons
I spotted her car in the lot
We walked over to her car
We saw that someone had put flyers on all the cars
I used Nicole's pen and wrote Emily a note and stuck it in her driver's side window telling her to call me LOL
We went to the Shannon Rose
Nicole ordered Irish Corned Beef Spring Rolls (I had two, Stephen had one ^_^)
    I ordered a Chocolate Martini
Emily met us there and also ordered a Chocolate Martini (as per my recommendation ^_^;;)
    We hung out
We left, Stephen drove me home

    Saturday
Mom and I went to the mall!
There were HUGE sales at Macy's!  It was their One-Day-Sale!!!!!!!!
Mom and I walked into the store and I saw pretty sleepwear
I tried on several items and finally decided on 2
A nice lady was in front of me on the line and said sorry for taking awhile and I said no problem there's no rush!  She saw what I was buying and said "OOoooh that' snice is that for your honeymoon!"  I laughed and said I don't even have a boyfriend.  She said "You should wear the green one on your honeymoon, some gucci gucci, I bet you could get pregnant in that!!!!!!"  I was like "O_o AHAHHAHAHA my mom wouldn't be too thrilled" and she's like "I said on your honeymoon not before" and I laughed and was like "Yeah, still...." LOL it was the funniest thing XD
Then Mom and I went up the escalator to the misses' department and I found such pretty clothes.  After trying them on and deciding which ones to buy, we went on line and the cashier said "You don't have a Macy's card?  open one here and you'll have 15% off every purchase for 2 days!"  Mom was like, ohh we coulda done that for the sleepwear we bought!  The lady said, no problem, I'll credit you and charge it to her new card so you'll have the 15% off that as well!  With that I was set, and opened a Macy's account!
After that I wanted to look at more clothes LOL so I found nice Charter Club clothes and bought them on my new card.
Then we went back down the escalator to the cosmetics department.  I saw Estee Lauder was giving away a free gift with any $29.50 purchase.  The gift was so nice, and this was the last day of the deal.  So I looked at their eyeshadows, tried some out, and bought N02 Amber Honey.
Then Mom and I went over to the bags section!  We looked at Kathy van Zeeland, Guess, Nine West, and some others.  Then I found beautiful Giani Bernin bags!  I took the last ones that were sealed.  I looked at some Coach bags too.  Then I bought the Giani Bernini bags XD
After all that i bought a decaf Venti Coffee Frappucino!
So, all in all, I received really great deals.  The clothing was mostly less than $20 apiece.  They were like, 60% off, 40% off, 75% off, etc.  The makeup was 15% off, so it's price was like $35, so with 15% off it literall ybecame like $29.50 which was the minimum to spend on the gift.  And the bags were originally $75 each, but they were 50% OFF!!!!!!!!!  So I bought TWO for $75!
After Macy's Mom drove me to the Majestic where we ate dinner!
    Then she drove me home
    Emily came over
I showed her all the stuff we bought
I opened the box that had the eyeshadow in it and realized that, although the correct color was on the label on the box, the actual one inside was a different color!  So I called my mom and asked her if we could exchange it tomorrow, and she said yes (she had kept all the receipts from today).
    We watched Hana Kimi
    Then we had girl talk
She went home a little before 2AM

    Sunday
Mom and I went back to Macy's at Willowbrook
We exchanged the eyeshadow for the correct color, and received a bunch of apologies
I browsed some more but didn't end up buying anything else
I again bought a decaf Venti Coffee Frappucino
    We drove home
    called 4 pizza
    went out for gas
    picked up the pizza
    ate
    watched Hana yori Dango
    She went home
I made a discovery!  HOLY CRAP I did the most brilliant thing I ever did in my life: I typed in the google search bar, "NYC Japan".  The very first hit was NYCJAPAN.COM - Everything Japanese in New York.  It had a sub-category hit, Nightclubs.  I clicked that it brought me here:
    http://www.nyjpn.com/entertainment/nightclb.htm
There it had a list of a lot of Japanese clubs in the city!  It could be fun =D I guess it's all kinds of people who go there, but maybe more Japanese specifically than at other places.  I sent out an email to the whole crew, so hopefully some night owls will come out.
I talked with friends (esp. girl talk w/Nicole), and looked up Memory Card info

  • Planes That Go To Japan

In Jan. of 2006 I booked a round-trip flight to Japan.  After taxes and things the final cost for me was like a little less than $800 on NWA, and it was not a direct flight.  To see how the prices have changed, I searched Student Universe, approximating the same days of the week (rather than using the exact same dates):
