Teachers call for Ban on Homework..

This is what happened in UK.
That explains a lot about this country,
Why there are university student who don't know what is scalar product.

Why there are so many stupid people,
because the education is completely dumb.

If students are not happy,
then they should not do any homework.

So next step:
If students are not happy going to school,
then they should stay at home to play Playstation. Right?

I am glad I am leaving the paradise for idiots soon and
I am looking forward to it, as I can't stand this piece of land anymore

教宗幕僚日前提出「新七宗罪」，包括污染環境、吸毒、基因改造、導致社會不公義、太富有、墮胎及戀童。

What drugs are they on? Too rich is a crime?
I think the Church is pretty rich, no? Otherwise, how they build Sistine Chapel and so on?
So they can be rich, but others can't.

戀童? isn't is common feature in some particular type of people?

the most stupid one is 基因改造.
On what ground they can say this is "immoral", by their Bible? I don't even think Bible mention this!

If they don't know what is the use of 基因改造, I suggest them read the relevant scientific paper, but then they are the people who believed the Sun goes around the Earth, so..

People should continue to be born with disease, born with disability, born with damage, becasue they should suffer. We should not try stop this suffer because human should suffer, huh? Also, we should not use genetics to cure people, because afterall we should all die, and go to heaven..haha

I wonder if the Pope has some disesase that cannot cured by genetic engineering, would he refuse it because it is a crime?

Religious has no place in science, and should stop interfering it. Still acting like in the 16th century and
bad-mouthing the scientists, disgusting. (they are now bad-mouthing because they don't have enough power to prosecute scientist like Galileo anymore)

Yes, rights of women does not even include abortion, so they can't abort
and if a woman choose to abort, then she offend her own right of women.

So the Church gives women the right of "you are not allowed to abort".

阿嬌終於站出來面對傳媒與公眾了。她是遲早一定要出來的，因為她不會願意放棄她的演藝事業，她所屬的公司也不想放棄這隻生金蛋的鵝。她說，她以前很天真很，但現在已長大了。短短幾句話，她沒有承認做錯過甚麼，但實際上已承認淫照不是移花接木的合成照了。
事實上，阿嬌以前並不天真，並不，她的天真無邪的小天使形象，是假扮出來的。她前年在偷拍事件後痛哭流涕，表示以後無顏面對視她為偶像的小朋友。她有一次看到兩個影星接吻，表示很惡心，說自己不會這樣做。她出席由大衞城文化中心主辦的「貞潔校園開學禮」，明確表示拒絕婚前性行為。她說這些話的時候（ 06 年），同時在拍淫照。本報留言網中，有人說：「大家鄙視的不是你的放蕩，而是你的虛偽。」
這句話可說一語中的。事實上，虛偽的不僅是阿嬌一人，而是她所屬的英皇娛樂集團，這集團在淫照曝光的第一天，即聲明這些照片是「不法分子」用「移花接木的手法製造」的，並即時報警。虛偽的還有演藝人協會，這個協會在前年阿嬌被偷拍背部的事件中，表現出群情洶湧，面對這次的淫照風暴卻說「不單是娛樂圈的悲哀，亦是香港人的悲哀」。但除了悲君亦自悲、深恐自己的私隱也被曝光的演藝人，除了淫照涉及的藝人，絕大多數香港人在此淫照事件中有何悲哀？娛樂圈個別人的悲哀，何以要拉香港人下水陪一路哭呢？
虛偽的還有警方。未經淫審處對淫照作裁定，警方已拘捕發放一張淫照的網民鍾亦天，並要未經審訊就關押他八個星期。明明是警方為阻嚇網民流傳淫照的行動，卻又妄言鍾亦天另涉詐騙案，因兩宗不相干案件遭還柙，實前所未聞。這是執法的虛偽。警務處長鄧竟成自行「釋法」，宣稱藏有淫照「意圖發放」也違法，警方的阻嚇意圖更為明顯。
警方的虛偽還在於早已知道淫照的源頭是陳冠希的電腦，還要到處找源頭。為甚麼不直接傳訊陳冠希，要求他交代事件，看淫照是偷拍還是被拍者知情下所拍？淫照曾交給甚麼人？怎樣流傳出去？已知源頭卻不找源頭，反而「周街拉人」，更顯示警方執法不公而偽善。
虛偽的還有部份傳媒。它們打道德的旗號，不但批評藏有淫照，觀看淫照者，甚至還批評報道淫照風暴的傳媒，指摘刊登經過剪裁的照片。揭發事實真相，應是傳媒的本份。尤其是道貌岸然的正人君子或打扮成純情小天使的藝人，揭發他們的真面目正是為那些被偶像愚弄的 Fans 敲響警鐘，告訴他們這些人的虛偽本性，使他們醒悟。
淫照風暴牽引出社會上的種種虛偽，很可能是促使「奇拿」在每一個虛偽表現之後發放更多淫照，並不斷使淫照尺度升級的原因之一。淫照風暴告訴我們，有些人認為，只要關起門來，只要不被人知道，或只要沒有具體的事實（照片）呈現在公眾面前，是甚麼髒事都可以做的，是甚麼謊話都可以說的，是甚麼虛偽的姿態都可以擺出來的。
虛偽是甚麼？法律上的虛偽陳述，指的是用語言或行為作出已知與事實不符的任何表示，通俗地說，是指一些使人誤解或欺騙性的陳述。淫照風暴所帶來的一系列虛偽言行，使人渾然覺得香港已成了一個虛偽城市。

幸而仍有清醒的、堅持揭示真相的傳媒。幸而有網民，特別是前天向虛偽的警方抗議的示威網民。

觀乎近年民主派的表現,
大家以經心中有數.
泛民失敗的主要原因,
是因為選民的心已死.
而並非甚麼中央插手!

我們知道在現今這畸形的政治架構中,
泛民要撥亂反正,
是有點異想天開.
我們之所以要選泛民,
是希望能有一把代表我們的聲音.
可以表達我們的訴求.
敢於向政府,向中國說不的聲音.

但是,
請問這幾年間,
泛民的政績為何?
他們當選後,
除了間中搖旗吶喊一下,吵兩句,做做騷外,
還有何是處 ?

觀乎建制派,
雖然你知道他們是如何的口是心非,
是如何的無恥.,
但他們站在人前,卻是槍口一致.
不會自己人打自己人.
而且他們也明白自己的弱點.
所以不斷努力培養接班人,
盡量讓年輕一代上位.
以營造朝氣開明的形象.
即使你不認同他們的立場.
也會認同他們的進取.

反觀泛民,特別是民主黨.
給我的印象, 只是一幫埋首沙堆,緬懷過去的人.
他們像一盤散沙, ,無勇無謀.
他們棧戀權力, 既不團結.
也不努力培養接班人,
他們寧願耗廢時間在爭奪名位,
吵吵嚷嚷,爭論著誰參選,誰退選的問題,
也不願花費精神,聽取一下選民的心聲和期待.
實在是不識大體 !

各位泛民人士,
請想想,你有辜負你的選民嗎?
你愧對你的選民嗎?
今次區選失利,只是給你們的一記當頭棒喝.
若不急起直追,
不大刀闊斧的改進,
你們只會繼續被選民拚棄,
落得更慘淡的收場.

Atonement is certainly the best movie that I have seen this year, and probably for a while as well.
It should definitely be dominated in Oscar and should win some awards.
(But then given the DEPARTED taste of Oscar in recent years, it may not happen.)

It is sort of similar to English Patient, but the focus is different, i.e. Atonement.

It is really really tragic in a way that is hard to describe.

Warning: Watch the movie without tissue at your own risk,
particularly if you are watching with a girl...

One of my sleeves is wet because of the girl sitting next to me..

After a really really bad first week of Sept with a big bad news,

lives are back to normal and at least I have a few good news.

At least now I got 3 postdoctoral offers and I have a choice of:

China, China or "China" (Taiwan)

one of them is Peking U, which pays petty money which is tempting on reputation alone..
and another one is in Taipei, which pays at least a reasonable amount of money...still less than a HK postdoc though.

It does feel a bit funny that after 7 years in Cambridge, all the places that offer me jobs spoke Mandarin...
Certainly NOT what I expected...
