| Yesterday was a tiring but fun day! Argent and I hiked up the Mosaic stairway on Moraga and 16th to the top of the hill. It sure was a lot of stairs, but I'm glad we made it. He said he needed a workout and I've never been up there, so it was worth a try. After we walked to Ocean Beach. Yes we walked! We walked from my home to Great Highway. That's like 33 blocks. I don't remember if I've ever walked that much in SF before. It was such a nice weather to be at the beach yesterday. It was warm with a nice breeze. We saw lots of jellyfish that floated on the shore. Looks like splats of goo. Then we decided to build a sand castle which turned out to be more of a fort. We attempted to build a sand castle 7 times it was all because of the tides that washed away our castle. But we successfully built the 7th one and right after it was done the tide washed up. We tried all strategies. We kept moving away from the shore to avoid the tides but every time we failed. Then in our last attempt we dug ditches and high walls so the tide wouldn't invade our castle. Smart, huh? After this we walked back to my house and ate dinner. I realized that my arms got quite a bit darker, but my legs are real pale.
I am so happy that I passed my written test on Tuesday. Now it's something that I don't have to worry about. Today I experienced my very first drive. My dad took me to GGP. I practiced driving forward, backward and U-turning. It didn't turn out as bad as I thought. Well at least I didn't panic.
Last Tuesday I went to visit my mom's friend in the hospital. She has cancer and she's in her last stage. The doctor can't cure her because she is too weak. She only has 6 more months to live and she can only take in 1000 calories a day. She can't eat. All she can do is drink a type of nutrient juice. When the doctor came in to discuss with us and the family members the next steps, it made me think how people are able to face these types of situations where you only have less than a year to live. The doctor suggested a program called Hospice, where the patient can stay at home and be comfortable rather than staying in the hospital. My mom's friend agreed to this program because as she is living her last months, comfort is the most important thing she wants and that her family can give her. Things like this happen so suddenly, it's hard to believe. And yes I would agree, life is valuable.

| I know this is a week late, but...I am so glad that I passed the Graduation Portfolio and now I unofficially graduated! I find it unbelievable that I was able to pass because I found the whole process nerve wrecking. It was really stressful. Whenever someone ask me about my senior year the thought of the grad port is going to pop in my head. Now my only hope is that the rest of the group will pass.
On the other hand, prom is coming up and yes my school's prom is late, but it's better than never. I'm excited and kind of nervous about how things will turn out. What sucks is that I have my chinese school finals on the same Saturday in the morning. So hopefully I have enough time to get ready.

| I haven't updated in awhile and there has been lots of things going on, mainly school-wise. It's quite scary thinking about what will happen as everyone heads out to college. Well, I have less to worry because I'll still be in the city. How would life differ as I spend a little less than a year not being able to see my old buddies from highschool? But before worrying about that I got to get over the upcoming obstacles...like taking the EPT test, Eureka exhibition and the Graduation Portfolio defense. The EPT test is probably going to be like the SAT all over again. Oh! Another obstacle is shopping for prom. I actually enjoy this more than the stuff mentioned above. Well, I'm still on prom dress search and I'm hoping to get one this weekend(?) so I can tell Argent that he can finally get his tie. This all ties into the money factor. Senior year costs so much! Tickets to prom are $60, Dress money, Prom picture, Yearbook is probably $40 (or less depending on fundraising), SFSU Orientation is $35, Tuition is a thousand something, EPT is $18, plus my additional spending for leisure time to relieve stress (ring a bell CAT students?...Koh's Econ Assignment!).
Okay, a change of topic...I'm quitting chinese school after this year. Actually 7th grade was the last grade until they added 8th and 9th grade last year. Which means that I would have to stay 2 more years before I could graduate. I'm already the oldest student in my class (even if I don't look the oldest). But the good news is that the principal is letting me get my diploma this year and graduate on stage. So today, Shirley's mom gathered the graduating class and told us that we have to sing a graduation song. This is the first because the previous graduating classes never had to sing. We have to sing in Mandarin and the second part is in English. It's a pretty simple song, I mean if elementary students were able to sing it then we can.
Man..I'm trying so hard to remember the title of a song that I heard yesterday...it's killing me!

| The days are getting closer to graduation, but before that is the huge rock climbing obstacle of the Graduation Portfolio. But I'm currently stuck trying to memorize a spanish play called El Delantal Blanco by Sergio Vodanovic. Well doesn't that suck? I talked to Koh just the day before about my Human Nature Essay and I'm getting close to proficient. But I have a lot to change. Well what made my week was the CO2 car races. Ivy and I are the winning team of the Loser bracket. Which means that we lost the first round and raced against the other losers and won them. c(;
