| umm... a LOT of days...Well, it's been darn near forever since I've updated, and I'm guess Danney hates me by now... But I'm updating now, so that's good! Well, let's see... I'm leaving August 7th to go to Indianapolis for like a week for the National Fine Arts Competition! I can't wait!!! It's gonna be so much fun! It will be the first time I've gone on a trip out of the state without my family! Yea me! I'm gonna get to see my cousin who lives in Pennsylvaina, which is totally awesome cause she lives WAY too far away! And I'm gonna get to meet her b/f Joey. She said that I can't start telling stories about us being stupid and stuff, cause I guess she'd get embarassed. (Can anyone say "blackmail"!!! ) But it's gonna be sooooo much fun! I went to see The Simpson's Movie last night with Michael (my lil brother), Chris, Josiah, Katie D, Sarah, Katie R, Jeremy and Brittany! I was really fun! Spider Pig is my hero!!! I cannot wait to see that movie again! It's sooo awesome! Speaking of movies, I still wanna go see Chuck and Larry sometime soon, and Live Free or Die Hard, but since Live Free has been out for a while, it's probably getting close to being at the cheap theater, so I'll just watch it there... anywho... Life is pretty kool lately, except I don't have enough money! Money is a pain... I like money, but I never seem to have enough of it. Speaking of which, if anyone has a couple hundred dollars laying around, could you send my a check? Our fundraisers didn't cover all of the Indy '07 trip, so it's gonna cost me like $300 out my bank account... But on a lighter note! only 8 days till I live for Indy!!! I SOOOOO can't wait! Well, I'm bored of typing, I'll talk to yall later! Have a good one, Adam | | |
| 23 days...That's how long it's been since I updated... Don't worry, I've got an excuse: "Danney and Chelsea are out of town so who is gonna read it anyways? No one else reads this." But, now Danney is threatening my life if I don't update so... I'm not gonna try and remember everything that happened over the last 23 days, so I'll just blog about this last weekend when I went CAMPING!!! Well, Friday we left to go canoing and camping on the Suwannee River! "Way down on the Suwannee River..." (I can't help but sing that everytime I say Suwannee River...) We did ALL our packing Friday morning before we left for the trip. But we didn't leave till like 5:00, so we had plenty of time. Oops, I forgot to tell you, I was goign with a bunch of guys from my church, 16 total, including me, my brother and my dad. Now you know! Anywho, we all met at the church around 5:00ish, and, as is often the norm, didn't leave till about 45min after what we had planned! The trip there was pretty much boring, about 4 hours of driving, most of which I did cause I don't like just sitting there, driving gives me something to do. Well, we made it to our campsite at about 9:00. My dad, brother and I had brought the smaller of our two large tents, cause we thought we were gonna have to bring it with us on the canoes (we ended up not bringing our tents, I'll explain later) and we knew it was gonna be a bit crowded, cause it's really only got room for two people. So instead of cramming in there with my dad and brother, I laid down the back seat in our Trailblazer and slept in there. That was pretty good except Kevin couldn't sleep, so he came and sat in the front passenger seat and played my PSP for a while after I was done with it. And once I fell asleep he kept getting in and out of the truck and shining his flashlight around and waking me up... The next morning we packed all our stuff back into the cars and drove the rest of the way to where we were putting in the canoes. That's when we found we wouldn't need our tents because the campsite we'd be staying at had screened in pavillions. Canoing down there was rather uneventful until we made it to the first spring. That place was so flippin awesome!!! I'd love to go there again! There was a big tree with a rope swing, a spring with ice cold water coming out. Where the spring first comes up there's a little pool of water, and then an underwater cave that connects the little pool to the stream that takes the water to the river. We swam through the cave and it was soooo cold but soooo awesome!!! Did I mention the water was freezing? It felt like it had been ice just a few minutes ago, but it was awesome! Later while we were at that spring we began, as guys are liable to do, to do some hardcore water wrestling! The water got deep rather fast, so we kept tackling eachother and pushing eachother into the deep water where you couldn't stand up, so you had to swim back to shore. While we were doing this I pushed Kevin out into the water. (Let me clearify something here, he had been participating in the pushing and dunking for a while already.) When he came up, he came up fist first, and punched me straight in the face! (Well, actually a little to the left, but still on my nose) I gave him a hard right hook to the side of the head (purely in self-defence) and then got him in a head-lock. Then, using aforementioned head-lock, I carried him to the beach, where I, not very gently, dropped him. Needless to say, I had won! Anywho, he apologized and I forgave him, so it's all gravy! Once we were finished at that spring we canoed the rest of the way to our campsite, where we carried all our stuff to the pavillions and unloaded. Then I collapsed in pain!!! Oops, I forgot to explain my pain... Well, about 10 minutes after we started the trip I took off my shirt, cause it was hot and I'm a guy and I can do that! Well, after about 6-7 hours in almost constant sun without a shirt or sunscreen... Oww... It's now Monday and it still hurts to put on a shirt... Owie... The next day we stared off canoing down the rest of the way to where our trucks were parked. A little ways down the river I heard the sound of running water, like a waterfall or something, so we pulled the canoes to the edge of the river, climbed over the rocks that made the banks, and found something that I swear came straight out of a fairy tale. Imagine a stream in Bambi, or Snow White, or something... A small rocky stream flowing around the base of a lightly wooded hill, bubbling over rocks and water plants, birds in the trees, the larger stones shining in the half light that was coming through the banches of the trees above... You couldn't paint, couldn't describe, couldn't imagine a more... IDK what word to use, but a place that was more "that place" than that place was. I wish I was an artist cause Id love to paint it... The rest of the trip to out vehicles was generally uneventful, except for we saw a very old train bridge that used to be used to... well, to get trains accross the river! But the interesting thing was, this bridge was low enough that back in the olden days when big steamboats and stuff had wanted to go down the river, the bridge would have been in the way. They solved this problem not by making a draw bridge, but by making a turret bridge! There was a massive iron pillar in the middle of the river, and on top of it was a piece of railroad that could rotate to let boats pass! It was all rusted over and stuff, but it was still awesome! The last place of interest was the spring where we finsihed up our trip (aka. we took the canoes out of the water and loaded them onto the trailer) This spring wasn't like the first few where it came up and flowed in a stream out to the main river, but instead it came up underground and flowed out undergroud. So basically it looked like regular lake, except it was really cold. This one had a rope swing too, but it wasn't as good as the first spring we stopped at. It was really deep, I was told at least 40'-50', but it wasn't that deep. You only had to go out in the water about 10' and it was already 20'-25' deep! What this spring did have that the others didn't is a boardwalk thing with a sign that said "No Diving! Rocks below!!!" Can you guess what we did?!?!?! It was actually pretty scary, cause we were jumping off the railing, and you had to jump about eight feet out unless you wanted to land on rocks and break something! and the railing is about 20' above the water... I only did it once and that was plenty for me! It was so scary! After that we drove home. We stopped at Sonny's on the way, and that was realyl good. I had a 1/2 pound burger! Yumalicious! We got home alright and hunky dorey and everything. So... That was my trip!!! Hope you enjoyed it! LOL! -Adam P.S. to Danney, since I didn't update for so long, I've made a post that's about 23days long... Is that good enough? I'll try and update again though, maybe twice! lol! | | |
| Nothin'Howdy Folks! I went to a dog show today, it was fun, except must of my people weren't there, Johnna is the only one who showed up! But we had fun without all yall anyways! It rained a lot today, I mean A LOT!!! Like it was raining cats and dogs... and we were at a dog show! LOL! So, I did pretty well, all firsts, but I was the only one in some of my classes, so it's hard to lose when you've got no competition! Since I've got nothing much else to say... hmmm... Hey, check out this website: wheresgeorge.com It's a website where you can enter in the serial number on a dollar bill, and if it's been entered before you'll see where. So you can see where it's traveled around the country! It's pretty cool if you find one that's been entered before. But, cool in a kinda nerdy way. That's okay though! Nerdy is okay! Check it out though! Ummm... I can't think of anything else to say... Hmmm... I guess I'll just end here then... Bye Yall! -Adam | | |
| Battle of the Bands IILong time, no post! Well boys and girls, it's been a while since I've posted, but I'm sure you're all glad to know I am still alive and well! I've just been a bit busy (aka lazy) so I haven't gotten around to updating. Battle of the Bands II was yesterday. Danney was the only person who I thought was coming, but when she showed up she had a grand total of FIVE friends in tow! Those friends were (wish me luck...) Brent, Emily, Savannah, ... And two others... Dang it... I can't remember... They did have names though, of that I'm sure! I found out why Danney wasn't sure if she could come! LOL! I wasn't expecting that! Anywho, back to BOTB2! The first two bands were pretty good, as was the fourth, but the third and fifth were screamo and I really don't like screamo music... My favorite band was Terra Terra Terra, with The Eighth Hour Romance coming in at a close second. The Eighth Hour Romance was picked by the judges as the best, so I guess that's okay. That reminds me, I gotta add Terra Terra Terra as a friend on MySpace... I forgot to do it last night! That's just about all I can think of to post... I'm probably gonna go see Shrek the Third sometime next week, if anyone wants to come (LOL to Danney) Hopefully it'll be in the cheap theater by then cause I'm almost broke... I'll catch yall on the flip side, Adam | | |
| I'M BACK!!!Hey Yall! Did ya miss me? Well, my weekend was pretty kool. If you don't know (you should know cause it's in my last post, but anyways...) I went to a homeschool convention in Orlando with my mom, one of my best friends, and his mom, this weekend. We left Thursday afternoon (only about an hour behind schedule, not my fault!) and went to the hotel where we'd be staying and blah blah blah... Forget everything till Friday afternoon! I made an amazing discovery call Myachi! It's like hacky-sack for your hands. It's soooo much fun. There was a booth at the convention where they were selling them. I bought one and was instantly hooked. I told Sebastion (one of the guys who created the Myachi about 8 years ago) that they needed to add a warning to the package that says it's highly addicting! LOL! I spent a lot of Friday and most of Saturday hanging around the booth Myaching (lol, I just made up that word!) I'd tell yall more about it, but it's kinda hard to explain the tricks, so I'll just have to show yall sometime! Anywho, we went out to eat at some restraunt on International Drive Friday night, and while we were walking, we passed a theatre and me and Josiah (the friend that came with me to Orlando) realized that it was opening night for Pirates of the Caribbean 3!!! So after we were done eating we went to go see it. It was good! I'm not gonna say nothing about it, so I don't ruin it for anyone, except... "Everyone stop! ... I think I lost my brain!" Ohh, it was good. Just got back from church, and... ONLY 3 MORE DAYS TILL BATTLE OF THE BANDS II! I can't wait. If you wanna know what it is read my post before this one, I'm too lazy to type it out again! Last, but not least, I wanna go to the movies! I have a pass to the Cobb for me and my brother to go see a movie, and I wanna go see something. IDK what. Anyone going to go see something? I'll probably see whatever my brother wants to, since I got to go see POTC3 without him. He might wanna go see that, and I'm okay with seeing it again! w00t w00t! So yeah... movies are fun! See ya on the flip side, Adam P.S. If anyone wants to check out was Myachi is, the website is myachi.com! Now isn't that easy to remember?
