| I'm really happy in life right now. | | |

Though mine was invented in 4th grade.
| I think it's fly when people come to visit.
But now I'm sad | | |
| Hello from Pittsburgh!!!I made it. My OPT came through, and now I'm in pittsburgh, (been here since monday) but I just got my internet connection. For everyone who was worried... thanks so much. And I am not ging to waste this summer at all.
So I met my principal investigator today (finally!!!) to give me my summer project. It sounds amazing!!! I'm basically looking at a specific protein, and how the expression of that protein suppresses cancer. And, I'll also be looking at a PI3K receptor, and see how a mutation in the catalytic subunit promote cancer growth, especially liver cancer. No one has ever really studied this topic before, so there are no publications about it, so we're really the pioneers of this research. I am so excited.
I've been following the lab technicians the past few days, and they've already taught me so much. I sat through a rat dissection, DNA/RNA extraction, western blots... the list is endless. The people in my lab are amazing. They're really really nice, and they are so helpful.
My roommates and I get along really well too! I share a suite with three other girls, and they're all really awesome, and we all have the same passion. I've never had people to talk with about my dorky biology stuff, so this is quite an experience. We'll be driving to the mall talking about PCR experiments for example.
I know that this summer's going to be great. And I feel one step closer to my dreams.
| I'm now a CERTIFIED EMT-B!!!!! | | |
