Well, well, well. I'm re-visting an old haunt because this is my last day at home before my life begins at college.

Am I sad? Nope. Will I miss people? Yes.

In the end, this is what we are brought into this world for. To grow up with our parents to learn the basics, and then take them for a test drive at college so we can make it on the highway of life.

I'm getting wordy.

Well, I'm off to go start my life away from home ... yay!!!

YAAAAAAH! I just came back from Aquire The Fire and it was so awesome! the theme this year was about recreating our culture starting with our generation. the message was powerful and moved me to really support those who are using media, literature, internet, and their voice for God's glory and message. to support a world working and moving for christ, not ourselves.

why is it that characters fascinate us? like in a tv series or a movie or a book? why is it that when we read or watch a particularly long series, we become so attached to the characters that we almost talk about them, or view them, as real people? it's almost painful, like losing a good friend, when an amazing book series or a tv series is canceled. even if we knew their time was coming to an end, it still feels like we'll never get that feeling again ... that feeling of "yes, this is awesome!" or "man, they totally got it!!" will there ever be a stories like those again? of course. not LIKE our favorite series, but there are other stories that come around ...

new generations bring new stories.

it's an escape from reality that we become addicted to. because the lie is so much more pleasant than the truth when it comes to how our lives are going. i mean, i think my day will go one way, and something happens that alters my whole week ... hmmm. definitely annoying. so watching other people struggle and triumph over their issues, even if though it never happened in reality, or is impossible in reality, still grabs our attention. beyond that, sometimes it's a lesson learned that wasn't meant to be learned when the writer wrote it. if that makes sense. we all have a worldview and sometimes a different worldview takes a different lesson than another world view. now i'm getting too complicated. sorry. mind is wandering.

i get too attached to characters.

what can i say? the lord is teaching me to love.

slooooowly. but surely. a light rap on the head to rattle the stress and tightened coils of the thought process, and a soft kiss through his word to soothe those silly worries.

what am i going to do with myself? thinking far ahead ... far ... far ... ahead, i wonder about life-after-college. what am i going to do??? i'm too curious. i wanna know now. who knows. just, please Lord, don't make me lead anything or anyone. eck.

i just doomed myself. i know it.

dear danny kaye. hmmm, he and Grant make the funniest noises when they act. Kaye and Bing Crosby have the same taste in style and movies. or, at least my brain thinks so. i mix them up too much : O

ooh, so bad. don't i know the difference? sure. sure i do. e-a-z ... ahem ... one played hanse christian anderson and one played the reporter who went to france, adopted 2 kids orphaned from WW2 and came back with them to america, ready to marry his girlfriend, who was setting to get married to a millionare because she was fustrated waiting for him to get back from france. complicated? simply put. he was the groom in "here comes the groom." hilarious. don't miss out.

Ah, Xanga, how i've ... missed you? hmmm ...

Cary Grant, oh good old Archie : ) how i love you. you know, i've been watching his stuff from when he first started out. back in good ol' 1932 and onward! oh, can i describe such a face?? good GOSH. if only men were more like that now ...

i'm supposed to give a "dramatic reading" from Uncle Tom's Cabin. yes, i signed on for it. No, i'm not going to have fun. and that's a fact. me and dramatic readings don't go along well, but i can't afford to do anything else!! it's too late!! phh. i just hope i don't butcher the character so bad that they have to wipe the walls and floor with my mess.

i've also been reading "Code of the Samurai." yes, it is a good read. a very, interesting read. Surprising at parts, and strangely revealing of the character of the Japanese psyche. They're polite for a reason in Japan.

now, i bid you good night. oyasuminasai!
