| One To Go, Then Reeeeeelaxin' 24 July - nothing monumental today, this day in this year in this decade
July 24th. Auspicious day for me in many of the years that have passed by. This year, though, it has quietly slipped through, nothing of monument to occupy it as memorable. That's quite okay.
And now.
To rest and restoration.
Cheers.
*not my feet/hammock/book. But that will be the gist of my upcoming days. Ahhhh.

| Airborne Particles 23 July - finding a rock to crawl under sounds appealing right now
Plum tuckered. Silent frustrations. Silenced frustrations. A break away from it all can't come fast enough. Two more days.
Could really, really use a bit of good news from some corner of my life. Pick a corner, any corner. A dash of good would be nice...

| Summer Storm 22 July - taking cover, hiding out
Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo 8:23 PM EDT Tuesday 22 July 2008 Severe thunderstorm warning for Kitchener - Cambridge - Region of Waterloo continued
At
8:10 PM weather radar shows severe thunderstorms moving eastwards
across the above regions at 40 km/h. Damaging winds large hail and
torrential downpours are associated with some of these storms. The
possibility of a tornado also exists with these storms.
This is a warning that severe thunderstorms
are imminent or occurring in these regions. Remember some severe
thunderstorms produce tornadoes..Listen for updated warnings. Emergency
management Ontario recommends taking cover immediately when threatening
weather approaches.
Niiiiiiiice. Lauren and I were out shopping when it hit - a normally 10 minute drive took us 45 minutes or so to drive through town to get home. In hail and torrential downpours. Left me wondering if we were navigating through tornadoes or downbursts. Tornadoes I know about. Downbursts is something new to me... they happen "when a column of sinking air hits the ground and spreads out violently in all directions."
Given what Laur and I just drove through -- completely flooded out streets with stalled vehicles and 4x4 trucks up to the runners in water in the middle of intersections and literal torrents of water angrily raging down the streets (I saw one manhole cover blown clean off, and another with a gyser spouting!) -- I would say we just experienced a downburst. Crazy shit.
When the hail started falling, I was beginning to get concerned. As you can see from the picture, we had funnel clouds in the immediate neighbourhood yesterday afternoon. I'm thinking we're going to hear about a few more after what I just experienced tonight.
All I wanted was to go pick up some magazines about decks and patios and stuff. Got drenched and tripped out instead. And the weather is to remain volatile for a day or two more. Another thunderstorm has just started rolling through - and it's a mean mutha, too. Makes me glad for an old house with a basement, let me tell you!

| Mondays are... ambiguous 21 July - or is that just me?
Got directed to this site this morning - had a quick play and came up with this, from my "I will..." new year's resolution post:
Click for higher resolution picture. I'll be playing some more on that site, methinks... | | |
