| update..Well, I had a great birthday! My parents got me a few books, shirts, and a little coin holder (until now I kept my coins in a little ziplock bag!). Cody's parents gave me some socks (best, most arch-supportive socks ever!), lotion, a little foot massager, and a really cute spongebob card. All in all, I felt pretty loved! Cody took me to the Mayan up in Salt Lake and it was pretty cool! The food wasn't too expensive and we had fun entertainment!
The next morning (thursday) I got up at 4:45am and left to Denver with my parents and little brother Jeremy. The drive wasn't too bad: 7 1/2 hours. But we made lots of walking-around stops, so it didn't seem that long. The drive was definitely beautiful! We saw lots of geese, the bookcliffs, and pretty mountains! We got there at about 2pm, but that's only because we stopped to drop off some stuff to my aunt and ended up talking to her longer than we had planned. It was great seeing her though! When we got to Pat's, we mostly just caught up with her and their son Scott. He is going to be putting in his mission papers toward the end of May, and we all took votes on where he will be serving. My vote was Brazil or Russia, just because a lot of our friends have ended up going there due to the many missions they have. Either way, I know he'll be a great missionary. He just seems like a real straight-shooter and just a genuinely good kid! lol I had a lot of fun getting to know everyone again. Their oldest daughter Tammy came by with her three little girls. I can't believe that she actually babysat me back in the day! lol Thursday night was spent just talking and eating some homemade chili. We also forced Pat to watch Napoleon Dynamite...what was funny was that she thought it was kinda funny, but she mostly enjoyed listening to me and my dad laugh! Mark got home from a business trip that night around 10-ish, so we talked a little with him, then headed for bed. I was so tired!
The next morning (friday) Dad, Jeremy, and I headed over to the Garden of the Gods. It's basically like Arches National Park, but with...less...arches; it had red rock formations and all that. There was the Kissing Camels, the Balancing Rock, and the Saimese Twins. My favorite was the last one because when you look through the connected part, you can see a beautiful view of Pikes Peak. We had wanted to go to the Denver Mint, but you have to have reservations like two months in advance (SHEESH!), so we'll have to do that some other time. My Dad bought me a shirt there and I bought a postcard and Cody some shredded money from the mint and a heart-shaped rock. That night, we picked up some KFC and listened to Jeremy and Mark jam-out with their guitars. Apparently, Mark is quite the blues-fan! Jeremy was so excited when he saw all the guitars around the house!
Saturday morning, the boys helped Mark and Scott work on their barn roof (leaks) while we stayed inside talking and watching Beauty and the Beast (the LDS adaptation). That night we went to Bass Pro Shop (pretty much Cabela's, but denver-fied) which was really cool! I bought a t-shirt and some camo-capri's (they were supposed to be shorts on average-height girls...but for me they are capri's!) and enjoyed the big fish tanks. We then went to Hacienda Colorado (mexican resturaunt) and it was very delicous! Scott actually told our server that it was my birthday, so we ended up getting a free desert with epinada's and fried ice cream! Needless to say, I ate a lot that night!
I had a lot of fun at the Garden of the Gods, Bass Pro Shops, and the Hacienda resturaunt. But what it really came down to was that I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know that great family again. They moved from Highland (up the street from us) to Denver like, ten years ago and my mom has done pretty well with keeping in touch with Pat over the years. She used to play scrabble with Pat and two other ladies from the ward every Thursday from the time that I was a toddler, so they've always been close. Tammy and Kris are the same age and I think their other son Shawn is around the same age as Jake. That made being friends pretty easy when we all lived in the same neighborhood. I LOVE THE AUSTINS! What a great trip!
On the way home, my Grandma Ogden called to ask us to say a prayer for her at 2:30pm because she would be going up to Payson for a heart procedure (the balloon thing in the artery...). I was really worried about her, but I think she's going to be alright! Cody and I visited her Tuesday night and she seemed to be doing better; a little tired, but better. I can't imagine what my Grandpa was going through while she was there. She has since gone home and we are planning on visiting on sunday, so I'm looking forward to that. She's a great woman who is definitely a fighter, so I'm sure she'll be around for at least a few more years.
ANYWAY! I need to get back to work...LOL .. so I'll update later. What a great weekend!

| NEW CAR!!Hey...yeah, we bought a new(er) car finally! It's a 2000 VW Jetta TDI and it's white with black cloth interior. Man, I haven't been in possesion of a newer car than a '97 for a long time!

This is the picture from the dealer .. I love it! We're going to get awesome mileage with it and it's fast too! It was quite the ordeal getting it (because we went last night around 6:30 and our credit union was closed) but we finally drove it home today! My parents were nice enough to drive us up there because we figured we'd be able to take the car last night. But because the credit union was closed, they couldn't just let us take the car with just a deposit; which is understandable of course, it was just annoying. Cody had some plans with friends, so they actually went halfsies with a rental car and Cody headed back. My parents and I went to Cabela's on the way home and had some fun there. It was kinda late, so we only got to spend about 45 minutes there (which is nothing for Cabela's!) but I was able to get a new handbag and a t-shirt! I went home with them and watched Leno and Conan with the parents. Get this, William Shatner was on Leno and Patrick Stewart was on Conan! CRAZY! I really enjoyed hearing Cap'n Picards interview...his accent has thickened thanks to his role as Macbeth in the broadway production of the play. I LOVE IT! Cody didn't end up picking me up until about 1:30am because he "lost track of time" lol .. The rental car ended up being a new volvo and Cody hated it! I figured he would because they're not fun to drive (automatic, too safe) but it was still funny to listen to him rant about it! At least now we know not to get one, right?!
I'm so excited about the car! Cody says when he fixes his white jetta (it's a '94, his baby) then this will be pretty much mine..AHH!
In other news, I'm playing with my dear friend Jessica on Tuesday for our birthdays (hers was yesterday and mine is on Wednesday) and I am psyched! She lives about thirty minutes north of us, plus she has a little boy, so we don't get to see each other very often. I would normally drive up there, but because we didn't know if I would have a car to do that with and because she wanted to see our house anyway, we decided to eat here in Springville. In fact, I'm gonna to do some investigation and figure out where I want to take her!

| stay.I think I'm expecting it to not work out. That's why I have such a hard time with making changes for the better. I've always been that way. I don't have the guts to end it myself, so I just wait for the other person to make the change. What the crap?!
P.S. I don't think the theme song to Monk will ever NOT be stuck in my head..*sigh*

| Happy Easter! We had a nice little shin-dig at the parent's house yesterday with the kiddies...loads of fun! I've discovered that my little nephew Jayden (2 years old on April 1st) is definitely one of those kids you can't leave alone for literally 5 seconds...Before I had my nephews, I kind of expected all of them to be that way and I found quite on the contrary! Both Kyler(5) and Hunter(3) are to the age when as long as they have a movie, some toys, or a sibling to play with, they're fine. We can leave them alone for a long time! Parker (1) has started walking now, and is usually ok to just walk around the house as long as you make sure the stairs are blocked off and there aren't any small objects for him to swallow. Kairo is five as well, so he's pretty good on his own. But Jayden is an entirely different story! I think I told him no 20-30 times yesterday! He just goes from one thing he's not supposed to do, to the next! It's actually kinda funny, but it's true! He is definitely a handful! It's so great to spend time with my babies and get to know their different personalities. Kyler is mr. funny-man himself, he really likes Transformers, and loves asking questions about books and movies. Kairo just loves to play....games, toy guns, etc. He's learning a lot at his school, so it's fun to go up the the fridge (with all of his drawings) and ask him about what he learned that day, it's very entertaining! Hunter usually sticks by himself, he's obsessed with trains, loves books, and he stops everything to pay attention to a movie if there's a musical number. Jayden loves to bang things on tables, loves to chase and be chased, and can play for hours with toy cars. Even though Parker is walking now, he still likes me, so that's an improvement on his brothers who pretty much disowned me when they learned how to walk (well, to be fair, they like me now, but they no longer depended on me for transportation...). Parker laughs at everything, he's very ticklish, and he loves to just walk around seeing what everyone's up to. His brothers usually keep their toys away from him, but he doesn't really care about those yet. Oh man...I love my nephews!
We went to IFA to get some chicks (baby chickens...) yesterday and they were out of everything but the "meat" ones who get so fat their legs can't support them when they get to a certain age...so you HAVE to kill them. We like them for pets, so we just want some small ones. It looks like we're going to order some bantams (little cute ones!) and some german black and white ones. I'm pretty excited to have some new chicken pets!
We're going over to Grandma Webb's today for an Easter lunch...and that's always good because she's a great cook! She actually cooks for the senior center here in town, so she's got a lot of experience! Well, I'm gonna go do laundry and dishes! YAY!
