| Major Flooding
I am currently sitting on the couch in our living room and
looking at the river. That is NOT supposed to happen!!! Our river, the
Shell Rock River, is a half mile away and we own land along about a mile of it.
In the 60 years Dad has lived here, he has never seen the river from the house
or even the yard.
Clarksville is being
evacuated. Some roads and a couple bridges have been washed out. All Butler
county roads are closed, as well as numerous highways in the area and around
the state.
Please pray for our county
Sheriff, Jason.
With the horrendous EF5 tornadoes two weeks ago and the massive flooding now,
Jason is worn out. He's been running on pure adrenaline, will power and
the strength of the Lord these two weeks, and he is needing a time to
de-stress.
Jason is having to carry all of the county's trials and burdens on his
shoulders. The death of 8 people has to be hard on him.
Also pray for Chris, the city police chief of Parkersburg
where the tornado ripped through. He lost his aunt, his childhood home,
possibly his home, his parents have been in the hospital, as well as his uncle,
and he's got several children to care for as well as the whole town.
Thankfully both of these young men have the Lord at their side, but they are
needing extreme strength and endurance at this time. Several towns in the
county are being evacuated, and who knows how much longer this is going to
continue.

| Susanna Joy...I just thought I'd post some pictures of my dear little niece, Susanna Joy. She is now 14 months old (these pictures are from the past 2 months) and loving life. Walking, talking, using sign language to express her desires, and just plain being cute are her specialties.
Being her cheesy, cute little self Susanna's 1st birthday With her Daddy Playing with Grandpa's ducky whistle and charming herself into his heart Helping her Mommy with the laundry...she loves emptying the dryer and burying herself in the warm clothes | | |

Ever feel stupider than stupid??? I am once again reminded just how thankful I am for older sisters.
This evening I was having a bit too much fun plowing through the snow with our 4-wheel drive Blazer. And got stuck. In town. That's not supposed to happen!!!
Mom and I had gotten through the drifts a few hours earlier! Needless to say, the wind had blown quite a bit and filled the street completely...and the drifts were somewhere between 2 & 3 1/2 feet deep.
Ella, the ever ingenious one, helped me out. We walked to Grama's house (only a block away) and asked to use her car to transport us out to get the pickup so we could pull us out.
We did get out...barely! The old '86 Chevy was a-chuggin'
I still feel stupid...but at least we got the Blazer out before tomorrow and hopefully the town/community/neighborhood/county won't be talking about it for the next year. Hopefully............

| Party Line Holiday Wishes :-)
To
All Our Democrat Friends:
Please accept with
no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally
conscious, socially responsible, low-stress, non-addictive, gender-neutral
celebration of the winter solstice holiday, practiced within the most
enjoyable traditions of the religious persuasion of your choice, or secular
practices of your choice, with respect for the religious/secular persuasion
and/or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or
secular traditions at all. I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally
fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the
generally accepted calendar year 2008, but not without due respect for the
calendars of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have
helped make America great. Not to imply that
America
is necessarily
greater than any other country nor the only
America
in
the Western
Hemisphere . Also, this wish
is made without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability,
religious faith or sexual preference of the wisher.
To
Our Republican Friends:
Merry
Christmas and a Happy New Year!
