| Some cool/funny pictures I found.
this guys got his .50 cal ready
some gun's gotta take the trials
And I also found some rather humorous information on miniguns (commonly reffered to as gatling guns). There are many ppl who would think it'd be cool to have an underslung minigun. Well, here's some info that might make those ppl think twice. I already knew this or figured it due to my (limited) knowledge, but some ppl don't have much common sense ((especially those Hollywood movie-makers))

In the year 1987 the movie "Predator" (starring A. Schwarznegger) hit the screens. One of the most impressive scenes was the one where the US Commandos, led by "Dutch" (Schwarznegger), attempted to fight back the alien Predator. One of Commandos was armed with the distinctive weapon, a 6-barreled rotary Minigun, fed from backpack ammo box. This gave the impression that the Miniguns can be used for infantry support. It must be noted, that in this movie a special, blank firing version of the Minigun was [used]. The electric motor was powered via cable, hidden in the actor's pants, and the actor had to carry bulletproof vest and protective mask to avoid injuries from the fast and violently ejecting empty cases. Had this gun being fired using real ammunition, the actor would ended lying on his back, being forced off the legs by the violent recoil. The "backpack" ammo capacity, also, could be worth only several seconds of fire. lets calculate: 2 000 rounds of 5.56mm ammo will weight about 25 kg (55 lbs); 2 000 rounds of 7.62mm will weight about 2 times more, making such load almost impossible to carry on [foot]. yet this load of ammo will worth only 20 or so seconds of fire. Add some powerful batteries to power electrical drive of about 4KWt (4+ horse-power), and the bulk of the gun itself, and you'll see that even the strongest man won't be able to carry this load, less to fire it with any chance to hit, due to extremely powerful recoil. ((COPIED. Site where this is found is HERE))
| A friend of mine asked me the other day what some of the guns were w/ that the magazine was on top of the gun. Not completely knowing, I went to my favorite gun browsing site ((world.guns.ru)) and found a couple SMGs that have alternate magazine placement. Hope this answers your question.

This first is the Australian F1. It was used by the Australian army in Vietnam. The F1 was replaced by the Austrian AUG assault rifle, and the German made MP5:

The other weapon that I found was also an older weapon. The Sterling L2:

I know it's side-mounted magazine and not top, but it's the only other one I could find on short notice.
| I'm taking a post to vere away from guns a sec to do some talkin' 'bout halo. What halo 3 needs:
- for the humans to have an aircraft the Master Chief can fly
- for there to be some kind of ATV (or human equivelant to the Ghost)
- for the Banshee to be able to fire its missiles in multiplayer
- for the driver of the Warthog to be able to shoot
- for the fuel rod cannon to be in multiplayer
- for you to be able to be marines, grunts, jackels, etc in multiplayer
- for the alternate weapon to be seen (purely asthetic)
- for you to be able to have dueled weapons as secondary (don't have to drop the 2nd)
- for there to be more underbrush and such in multiplayer maps
- for you to be able to go into buildings in multiplayer maps
- for you to actually be able to climb and "hop" over thing ('X' actions)
- for you to be able to lay down/crawl
- for the sniper rifle(s) to have adjustable scopes (not just 2x and 10x)
- for the Race game type to be put back, and Chicken added
- for the "infinite grenade" setting be put back in multiplayer
Well, that's my list. Most of you don't know or don't care about any of that; but I thought I might share anyway.
| cool wicked sweet awesomeI was kinda browsing around looking for the M82 as was requested by whoevr he is (M82, "Light Fifty," I'm workin' on it.). While I was browsing, I found a redunculously awesome [prototype] sniper rifle. Well, it's not actually a sniper rifle, it's and anti-material rifle. BooYeah.

There's a picture of it: the Steyr IWS 2000 prototype, an Austrian built weapon. The rounds it fires are cool too.... and huge. (of course, that's why it's an anti-material rifle)

I mean, look at the size of that stuff! The big one is the Steyr's (obviously), the little one is your normal sized bullet. And this is a no-joke round. Here's a couple quotes: "At 1000 meters this projectile will penetrate a 40 mm of RHA (rollded homogenous steel armour) and will result in serious secondary fragmentation effect behind the armour." "...it will penetrate two walls of any modern APC [armored personel carrier] at one kilometer range." That's just.... cool.
There's some cool stuff about the rifle itself too. Go here (http://world.guns.ru/sniper/sn46-e.htm) to read it.
Um... yeah, that's it for now. The M82 "Light Fiftly"'ll be next if I can find it. I'll just have to use Google.
Oh, and just sense I can't go this many posts w/o promoting my blog:

| Noooo! It's french! How could this happen?? Gah. Oh well, maybe I could look at it this way: the french did something right for once. Or maybe it's that they may be good at making guns, just not good at using them. Anyways. The FAMAS. I would give you what the acronym stands for, but it's french, and I don't speaka they're language. It's a cool gun. It's first version, the F1:

There's a second, the G1, but I don't have a picure for it. I do, however have an airsoft rifle (only spring action, but still a good weapon) that's fashioned after the G1. The visual difference between the G1 and the F1 is the enlarged trigger guard, also exhibited in the third model, the G2:

The G2 is basically the G1 w/ the STANAG 30 rounds magazine... basically. Here's a nifty pic that has all the tasty variations of the FAMAS

It really is a cool gun if you ignore the fact that it's of french design.
Here's them stat things that some people like to know:
