1 John 2:3-6

And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word, in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know that we are in him: whoever says he abides in him ought to walk in the same way in which he walked.

in this century many people will claim to be a "christian" but many of these people do not live according to Scripture.  It's sad how the word "christian" is being dragged through the mud and letting others have a wrong and wicked perspective of "christians."  People must understand that to be a believer, one must not only say and profess to be a christian...one must live it out.  One must live according to His commandments even if they do not want to.  One must have integrity to have a life that is blameless.  But unfortunately so many people do not see or understand this.

Who among the gods is like you, O Lord?  Who is like you -- majestic in holiness, awesome in glory, working wonders? Exodus 15:11

How we tend to forget that our God is an awesome God.  Nothing can compare to Him and yet we do when we make other things our god.  We sin against Him so easily because we want something that we shouldn't want.  We put rubbish things before Him thinking they will give us more satisfaction than Him.  Yet the Bible tells us and shows us that nothing can compare with God, nothing and no one is like Him.  Christians must remember this and live their lives with this mentality.  He is awesome in glory, He is majestic in holiness!!! Oh I pray that I live my life that fully see God for who He truly is and I see other things as rubbish!!!!

A new year has come, a new year where God can use me to display His glory, and a new year where others may see Christ.  God has blessed me with this a new year and I wonder how am I going to glorify Him in this year.  Will I be able to say I was faithful at the end of the year?  I pray that I do; I pray that I display His glory to the fullest.  I pray that we as believers strive to do that with all our passions.

Matthew 1:21 "She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins."

Christmas came and is now gone.  Santa has left the building and everyone is now preparing for those New Year Parties.  I don't expect much from this world when it comes to Christmas.  People are "nicer" and will give gifts to others but they will not celebrate the real reason for Christmas.  But it also saddens me that Christians have fallen into this mindset as well.  Paul tells us not to be conformed to this World and yet we treat Christmas like another holiday where you get time off from work.  Although Christ was not literally born on December 25th, we still remember His birth on that day; that wonderful day when we see God the Father's love solidify through a baby in the manger.  I didn't stand in awe when I think about Christmas even though I should be.  I was more worried about what to get someone.  I lost sight of Christmas, I lost sight of Christ.  Lord forgive me for that.  I don't want to be another person on the street saying "Merry Christmas" without realizing that it's because of this Child my sins are forgiven.  It is because of that one night that I have a relationship with the Father.  It's because of that one birth that I will forever be with my Savior.  I need to refocus my life.  It is through these couple of days that I've been realizing how much my eyes have not been fixed on the founder and perfecter of my faith, and I'm completely grateful for God with showing me my sins.

1 John 1:6-10 "If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his Son cleanses us from all sin. If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us."

It's so easy to say you are a christian but it's so much harder to live it out.  I think there are so many professing Christians that when they live their lives contrary to the Bible people label them as hypocrites.  But this labeling is not only for them but for the whole category of Christians.  It's so sad!! We as believers need to examine ourselves.  Do we really live out what we say we believe?  Do we really behave like we have fellowship with Christ?  Yes sin is real and we will never be perfect but do you struggle with sin and try to kill sin?  Or is it just something you say you do but don't really do it?  I get so sad when I hear someone say they are a Christian but live contrary to how Christ lived or desires for His children to live.  I grieves my heart when people place themselves next to Christ and yet dishonor Christ.  I rather have people say "nothing" rather than dishonoring and demeaning His name!!
