  • Promises, promises...

I promise I will get some more photos up of the wedding and of other things. I promise I will post agian soon. That is after we are done moving and get the internet hooked back up again. We decided ages ago that we were going to move out of our apartment to a nicer one as soon as we could. Well, we found a gorgeous apartment the other day and went ahead and took it. So, this weekend we are moving to the new place across town. We are going to try and get the internet transfered to the new address, but it may take a few days. Possibly longer. So, bear with me, it may be a bit before I'm able to come by and comment or to post. Never fear, I will be back!

  • Wedding!

So yeah, we got married.  Everything was smooth as silk. We had a short but sweet ceremony and had a great time at the reception. We couldn't have asked for a better wedding. So without further ado, pictures!

  • The Bachelor Party

    Yellow Traffic Cone

The day before yesterday, the lads, (ie: Brian's guy friends, six in total) decided that Brian's bachelor party was to be last night. They decided this on the spur of the moment, and sent a text around saying that all six of them had to be there. This whole idea was at once terrifying and exciting seeing as how I knew they were bound to have a good time, but also bound to get Brian slobbery drunk and then leave him at home for me to take care of. Well, it didn't quite end up that way.
We started the night off at a different friend's house. We had promised to go by and have a drink to celebrate her boyfriend, who's birthday it was on Friday. We met up with the lads there and they all had a few drinks while they were deciding where to go next. While there, it was decided that I was to join them for the night of drunken revelry so that they wouldn't have to take care of Brian at all and I could just take him home whenever he needed it. (Bunch of bums )
We left our friends house. By this time they had all had a bit of vodka in them, so were getting tipsy. (Just a sidenote, I was not drinking. I had water since I'm not supposed to have too much alcohol with the diabetes and the pills I'm on. End sidenote.) We walked out of the front of the building and didn't even make it down the sidewalk before Brian and Roger were falling into the bushes. I went over to help them up and Roger grabbed my hand and pulled me down with them. Dogpile ensues. All five of the other guys jumped into the bushes and squished the three of us flat. Brian was screaming to get off him and I was laughing like crazy and the guys all thought it was the funniest thing ever. Meanwhile there was this group of girls over in the parking lot who were just pointing and staring, probably thinking that we were the dumbest drunkest bunch of idiots on the planet. Kenny got embarrassed, but I said that I didn't care what they thought of us, I was having a good time and those girls could go suck a lemon. So, we get out of the bushes and head into town to see about a pub.
Walking in Brian and I see this long line of traffic cones. We just look at each other and know we're thinking the same thing, so I say that I want one of them. Eoin asked if I was serious and if I would keep it forever if he went and took one for me. I told him that of course I would, so he ran over and grabbed one. We decided to take it back to the house and drop it off so that we wouldn't have to be dodging the Garda all night with this traffic cone. On our way to the house who should drive by but a Garda officer! We're all trying to look like we didn't have this bright yellow traffic cone. It must have worked because he drove on by and we got it to the house unscathed.
After the traffic cone incident the guys decided that we would go across the street from the house to the Blue Note and have our first pint. There were so many people in there we had to stand outside in the smoking section. But, they had a pint and we danced and talked and then decided to head to The Kings Head for another pint.
We get to The Kings Head and luckily get a table. We're watching this couple out on the dance floor just really getting down to the music and laughing and talking while Owen goes to get a pitcher.  The bartender tells Owen that they've run out of the beer that he wants, so he comes back to the table and says that we have to leave they don't have what we want. We get all bundled up again (It was freezing out, but not raining...yet.) and head out to The Living Room.
We were lucky enough to get yet another table in The Living Room. The guys all get pints and we get settled in. They were having a spectacular 80's music night, so we all had to dance. Across the room from us at another table were these girls who kept staring at us. And I mean blatant staring and pointing at me and the guys all chair dancing. They continually were pointing and staring and then looking away and giggling. I was getting a bit irritated at being watched, so I walked over and asked them if I knew them. They were like, yeah we think we do know you, did we meet you in The Kings Head the other night? I had to tell them that no I hadn't been there, but maybe they had seen us there some other time because we go there often. So, I introduced myself and they did too and we talked for a minute. I went back over to the guys and they were all amazed that had I went over and talked to total strangers without a drop of drink in me. It got them to stop staring at us though.
So we stayed at The Living Room for the rest of the evening and we danced and had tons of fun. Me and seven guys. I had to save Owen from some girl that he knew. He went over to say hi and she kinda stole him away and wouldn't let him leave. So, I went over and said we were ready to leave and was he ready. I ended up having a nice chat with the girls, it was her birthday and they had gotten all dressed up for the occasion. Then I took their picture for them. We finally got away from them and the place was closing down around 2:30 a.m.. We headed towards home. When we came out of the pub it was sleeting rain and was freezing cold. Roger and Owen walked with us part of the way home and we made plans to get together again before the wedding. All of the guys are so excited for us!
Brian and I got home and immediately got into pj's and collapsed into bed, exhausted, our ears ringing and our voices gone. We slept in till 10:00 this morning and Brian was thankfully without a hangover. We had a great bachelor party/stag night, me and the guys.

p.s. You know what I love about my honey? This morning when we were lying in bed deciding wether or not to get up and have breakfast or to stay and snuggle a bit longer he said to me "Honey you have to post about our stag party sometime today." Isn't that awesome? He's the best honey ev-ar!

  • As I said in my last post, I am home again. We have been very busy since I got back. Every friend we have has been by to say hello or to hang out. We've been running around town like mad trying to get wedding stuff finished. And, Brian hasn't let me out of his sight in almost ten days now. This is part of the reason that I haven't posted. The other is that I'm just a lazy bum with not much to say.
First, wedding stuff. We have taken care of almost everything. We went to The Kings Head where our reception is going to be and made our final decisions. I got with our friend Ailbhe who is making the cake and decided once and for all how that was going down. Brian talked to his granny about making a Devil's Food cake for his groom's cake. We took Brian's suit pants in to be hemmed and will pick them up on Friday. We talked with the florist. She had to go to the wholesaler yesterday to see about silk flowers and we're going to go in later today to see what she found. The flowers have been the only real hitch in the plans. Apparently they don't do silk flowers over here. Most times they do real. Brian is badly allergic to pollen so I don't want to have flowers around that are going to make him sneeze up a storm in the middle of the ceremony. Other than that the only other problem has been with my bra. I have to have a strapless one for the dress. I bought one at the same time as the dress, from the same company, but you can see it underneith. So I went to the lingerie store and got a different one. I tried it on this morning with the dress and it doesn't look right. So, I don't know what to do. Should I get yet another strappless bra? Should I say screw it and wear one of the ones that I have? Should I sewstraps onto the dress? It's just annoying as all get out. Besides that all is going well with the wedding so far. Just a few more days and I won't have to think about it anymore. Yay!
Second, what else has been going on. Honestly not much. We've been watching movies, going for walks, seeing friends and hanging out. We haven't gone out anywhere since I got back. Not because of lack of effort from the lads, more because we're usually exhausted by the end of the day. We went to a Christening on this Sunday past. It was for Brian's cousin Maeve. She was so cute! She's two months old with big blue eyes and red hair. I got to meet a whole bunch of the family. That was nice since the wedding won't be the first time I'll be meeting most of them. We had dinner and then went back to Brian's granny and grandad's for more visiting. I was so naughty, I had four different pieces of cake that day. Bye bye diet! Woops!
So, yeah, that's what's been going on with me. Oh yeah, I read The Hound of the Baskervilles too. My first ever Sherlock Holmes. It was good, I liked it.

    ::Update::
We picked up Brian's pants today and they are perfect. We went to talk to the florist again. Yesterday she still hadn't been able to get to the wholesaler, so asked us to come back today. She got some very nice flowers and quoted us a much more reasonable price range then the others that we had checked up on. We should be able to pick them up next week. We went and found another strapless bra. I got it home and it worked much better, so I'm going with that one. I returned the one that didn't work. So, everything is set! Woot!
