Today I painted another Humpalumpalaff...

"Humpalumpalaff" acrylic on canvas 16" x 20" including frame. 3/22/08

On Friday May 9th, The Advocacy Center of Rochester will be having "A Nite of Hot Jazz and Cool Art" at the Rochester Memorial Art Gallery. Last year I donated a few paintings to the silent auction held that evening. This year I am offering several new works including this one.

Anyone wishing to place a bid on this painting may do so at any time before 12 am Friday, May 9th. The total proceeds of the sale will go to the center. The Xanga high bid will become the minimum bid for the night of the auction, if no one at the gallery out bids the Xanga high bid, the painting goes to the Xangan with the high bid.

I always hate to go first because I am afraid that my offer will be insultingly low..., I would love to have that painting, but I am pretty darned poor right now..., you know I will have that token check from the IRS in May, maybe I can afford it... The frame had to cost more than $5. Don't be modest. This is for charity! I like that all the guys are in the same uniform.

humpalumpalaff sounds out of a Dr. Suess book...If $30 is the bid, I guess the postage to Linda would be about the same...

I wonder how much would be the puzzle version of the painting would cost? Probably more than $20?

I must say you also have good taste in frames...

Just how vicious ARE those Humpalumpalaffs anyway? It seems to take four strong men in red jackets to subdue them! :) I think it's wonderful that you are donating some of your work. I hope the bids really soar! :goodjob:
