I have recently discovered a new favorite sitcom: The Office.

I realize I'm behind. Every other intelligent comedy connoisseur as been watching for two and half years. I am never home on Thursday nights, however, and I don't have TiVo, so there you have it. As summer presented a little free time, I ordered the first two seasons from Netflix and quickly found myself addicted. I haven't watched Season Three, so please, no spoilers.

The sun is out, and I am grateful. This has been a week of gratefulness for many things. I am overwhelmed by God's goodness, his provision, his faithfulness . . .

I used to think I wanted to live in Seattle because I really enjoyed rainy, gray days. After three weeks of rainy cold days, I've realized how much I love the sun. I just want to see some blue sky!!!

I've finally made it out of Greeley and to my parents' house out on the prairie. The highways are in good condition, but good grief there's a lot of snow! Today I saw people sledding on a 12ft pile of snow in a Borders parking lot.

White Christmas indeed.

cabin fever fun

I'm wrapping up Day Two of the Blizzard of 2006. On Tuesday afternoon, my parents dropped me off at my friends' Lisa and Katie's house in Greeley. The plan was to stay the night and then have Lisa bring me to my parents' house the next day (they live about 70 miles northeast of Greeley).

When we woke up Wednesday morning, it was clear that I wasn't making it to my parents house. My brother and sister-in-law (they live in Greeley as well) broke out the 4wheel drive and brought me over to their house. We've been watching movies and shoveling snow.

At about 5:30 this evening, we had fun with the Winter Solstice. Did you know that during the solstice (both winter and summer) you can balance an egg on its end? Well you can. And here are the pictures to prove it.
