| Kissing the Lipless - The Shins
Called to see if your back Was still aligned and your sheets Were growing grass all on the corners of your bed
But you've got too much to wear on your sleeves It has too much to do with me And secretly I want to bury in the yard The grey remains of a friendship scarred
You told us of your new life there You got someone comin' around Gluing tinsel to your crown He's got you talking pretty loud You berate remember your ailing heart and your criminal eyes You say you're still in love If it's true what can be done It's hard to leave all those moments behind
You tested your metal of doe's skin and petals While kissing the lipless Who bleed all the sweetness away

| I think might start really updating my xanga next month.
Summer has been quite boring, so far.
I've been sick these past couple of days. That is all. | | |
|
On Sunday, I went with my friend to her ‘Fall Out Boy’ concert at Avalon. Three other bands played before Fall Out Boy, which consisted of ‘Gym Class Heroes’, ‘The Academy Is’, and ‘Silverstein’. I thought they were all pretty good live for that particular style of music. The joys of indoor club concerts… everyone got shoved/slammed into one another and there’s lack of breathing room since there’s a good chance of one’s face getting pressed against someone’s backside for several long dreadful minutes, which felt like hours. When ‘The Academy Is’ came on… all the shoving/compressing of bodies against one another began and I lost my friend in the sea of sweaty bodies. I was sad for the whole two something hours; sad and in a great deal of pain. My ribs killed from all the shoving/compressing and semi-strangulation from whenever my own freaken hand was near my throat. At some point, I ended up near the mosh-pit; I prayed that I wouldn’t be tossed in, thankfully, I wasn’t. Out of this whole ordeal, the only good that came out of it was that I got a free mini ‘Thrice’ button when we were waiting in line for the damn concert to start…. oh yeah… also my friend’s happiness was a big plus, since she anticipated for this event for several long weeks. The ‘Thrice’ button/pin was quite special, even though probably 75% of the people that were in line also got them… when they filled out the Island Records form to join their e-mail list or whatever. My bones hurt all over for the next couple of days. I bruise too easily. Jeebus… my neck still hurts, but at least my back feels a whole lot better now.

- Clive Owen is quite s3xy in ‘Sin City’. I thought it was a really good flick with great camera-work; can’t wait till it’s out on DVD. I loved Dwight and Marv’s story, but didn’t care much for Hartigan’s story. Benicio Del Toro rocked as Jackie Boy and Devon Aoki was excellent as Miho. Alexis Bledel from Gilmore Girls… her voice was quite annoying in it and she seemed really out of place as a prostitute. I thought Elijah Woods as Kevin is very giggle- worthy, his scenes were very amusing. MmmMMmmm… blood-shed.
- My 17 year old brother is currently all giggly like a school-girl for that anime convention in Boston tomorrow. Loser. Anyways… Last week, I took him to Tokyo Kid, an anime store at the Garage in Harvard Square for the very first time; it was like heaven for him. Waiting for him, whilst he browsed through anime stuff for several long moments was quite a bitch. The kid takes forever. I sat at a nearby bench for a long while and eventually left, when some creepy sat near me; that bench seems to always attracts creepy people.
- Rearranging the books in my bookshelf is fun. I <3 my books. I need another bookshelf; there is no more room for new books. He was suppose to make me another one =(
- ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy’ is out in theatres this Friday!!!!!
- I really like that song at the end of ‘Sixteen Candles’. I never really liked that flick, but I did enjoy the cheesy teen atmosphere of the 80’s that came with it. Jake Ryan is seriously hot stuff; Michael Schoeffling(sp?) was excellent in that movie about a blind girl, who rode horses etc… currently can’t remember the title of the flick. I don’t think that I like Molly Ringwald.
- To go or not to this years Warped Tour... the line-up certainly sucks this year. Plus the location for Boston this year really sucks; it's at Northampton, MA... somewhere near UMASS Amherst. If I go, it would only be for Thrice... and maybe Senses Fail.
My head really hurts... so I'll end it here.

| Here’s a slightly long boring post:
Photo by Scott Irvine (was in postcard format, but I chopped it up a bit)
On March 24th, I got to see The Dresden Dolls at Northeastern University. How rad is that?! I went with Judy and her friend Sandy. We sat behind the table of people that were filming/taking pictures of the event, that’s how spectacular our view of the small stage was! We watched a short documentary on The Dresden Dolls, after that Amanda Palmer and Brian Viglione talked about how they came to be and about the music industry for about an hour; they’re wonderful speakers I might add. They performed three songs live, but without piano or drums; Brian played the guitar and they both sang. They’re wonderific live!!! I didn’t recognize any of the songs that they performed that day, they weren’t on their cd, I didn’t get the titles, but the first song that they performed is going to be on their next cd; I thought that particular song was great; I’m definitely looking forward to their next cd! I didn’t have to wait long to get an autograph, especially since most of the people that were there were most likely just students of the music industry and were just there for the talk. I have to say that day was one of the best days I’ve had in awhile, halfway during the first song, I got a bit teary-eyed (but no actual tear had spilled) because I was just so darned overjoyed. The Dresden Dolls make me happy.

- Tori Amos was at BU’s Barnes&Nobles bookstore on March 18th for a book signing. The event was supposed to take place at 6pm and only 200 people could obtain an autograph. I thought I had a chance of getting an autograph… boy was I wrong… apparently people have been showing up around 7-in-the-freaken-morning! And because of that, the bookstore staff gave out the ‘pass’ wrist bands early (were all out by 11am), just so those people would going away and stop loitering around the store for several hours… jeebus… I would understand if one were to show up like an hour or two early, but 11 freaken hours early is freaken nuts! (clearly, my jealously is showing… darn those lucky bastards!) I felt bad for wasting my friend’s time on that, she was a good sport about it.
- I’m thinking about doing some volunteer work at the hospital where my friend Amy S. volunteers at. Hopefully, I don’t screw up on the interview.
- I bought a bunch of books in the past couple of days; I now have a giant stack of books by my bedside to read. I waste most of my money on books, that’s how sad I am. Currently, I’m trying to purchase all of those old YA horror/thrillers that I’ve enjoyed during my middle school years… books by Christopher Pike, Diane Hoh (Nightmare Hall), Nicholas Pine (Terror Academy), Point Thrillers etc… I own most of the L.J. Smith and Richie T. Cusick books already, so that rocks. I’m so excited that all of L.J. Smith’s Nightworld books are going to be re-printed; I hope the covers illustrations will be by an artist like Sandy Young, her covers are great.
- I decided that I hate my dad’s side of the family; they suck.
- Last Tuesday, I watched that episode of ‘Scrubs’ when J.D.’s father dies, that is now my favorite episode because it was sad and hilarious all at the same time; it’s kind of weird that I’ve never seen that episode before until that day, I assumed I’ve seen every episode… I really like J.D’s brother Dan (played by that guy from ‘Ed’), who occasionally pops in once in awhile in the show, his character is freaken fantastical.
- Currently I’m trying out the ‘ALL’ brand version of ‘Febreeze’… I guess it works okay, but the smell (fresh rain) of it is mighty powerful. ‘Febreeze’ definitely smells a whole lot better.
- The movie ‘ROBOTS’ is a very cute flick, I liked it.
- The cast of ‘Veronica Mars’ is going to be at Cambridgeside Galleria this week. I don’t watch that show, but my sister loves it… and I kind of want to see the guy that plays Elliot Demoroy(sp?) on ‘Just Shoot Me’… he plays the father in that show.
- Judy’s went to a Maroon5/The Donnas concert on Saturday at BU, lucky bastard… meh … doesn’t really matter… I only like that song ‘This Love’ and I don’t really care for The Donnas (she got their autographs). That same day Bruce Campbell was at NU!!!! I wish I were there that day, he so totally r0xx0rz!
- I love ‘Committed’ it’s a great t.v. series, can’t wait till the 2nd season starts. I sort of like the U.S. version of ‘The Office’ it’s not wicked hilarious or anything, but I do enjoy it. ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ looks somewhat promising (watched the first episode last night, missed the pilot). 3rd season of ‘The Apprentice’ kind of sucks.
- This week I need to work on a history paper and also really need to go to the art museum for my ‘Women of Rome’ cl a**(got a paper due May 2). Must also study for my 2nd history exam.
- Some crazy bitch is trying to sue my mother for the car accident that happened a month ago, when it was her fault, now she’s just wasting my mother’s time with the whole court crap (both insurance agencies are siding with my mom).
- It hasn’t really hit me yet that my dad’s not around anymore. It’s weird. (I’m okay)
- I might see ‘Sin City’ tomorrow. -------------------------------------------
[Upcoming Movies That I Want To See]
The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy (Marvin the depressed android looks so cute in it!)
The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (only because Amber Tamlyn is in it and the story seems kind of cute)
Kingdom of Heaven (because it’s by the makers of ‘Gladiator’)
The Amityville Horror (because I like watching horror flicks, even if they suck)
