| What constitutes as a date? I'm sitting here watching Enchanted when Giselle [the princess] says, "I want to go on a date." All of a sudden, it dawns on me that I've never been on a date (which of course, I point out to the bf).
"Yes, you have," he says. "I took you out for ice cream that one time."
HOLD ON.
The one time we went out on a "date", I paid for my own ice cream!!! My apartment mate says it did NOT constitute as a date, but the bf seems to think she's wrong. In retrospect, every other aspect of the night seemed like a date... I guess.
On a whole other note, after watching this movie, I really want to get a Disney princess cartoon created of me, too

So what do you guys think? What counts as a date?
| My cousins finally got the chance to come down to SoCal, and they wanted to visit me in San Diego. I've never met the girl before... and I've seen the guy on two different occasions (but the last time I saw him was 4.5 years ago Time sure does fly...) He claims that he remembers me, though.
Of course we had to take some family photos in the backyard:
Everybody says that my brother looks like my dad's side of the family... I, on the other hand, do not look like my dad's OR my mom's side of the family.

Sometimes my brother likes to tease me and tell me that I'm actually adopted, that I come from a family of billionaires, and that I'm actually a real princess who has her own castle. "Too bad you're stuck here with us," he'd say. "But if one day you DO find out that what I'm saying is true, please buy me a PlayStation 3."
Boy, do I wish that were true. If I were a real princess, I'd give my family everything. My parents work so hard every day to give me and my brother. Sometimes I wish they would just take a break, but they say it's their responsibility to do everything they're doing. Even so, I think a nice, long vacation for them is in order.
On the other hand, I've been offered a job. Four hours a week = $350. The bf and brother both think it's too good to be true. I think it is, too, but I'm waiting for an email response to see what happens.
| 5.17.08A little overdue, but here it is anyway: Got to meet my dad's cousins, aunts, and uncle [for the first time in my life] to celebrate his 89th birthday. They hadn't seen me since I was a little baby, and commented on how pretty I've always been, even as a baby.
My beloved brother then poked me and whispered, "You're lucky they didn't get to see you from the time we were in elementary school until the end of high school, because you were FAT!"
It was a nice day with a little food, cake, and champagne.
It was surprising to learn that half of my family is actually white. Half of my dad's cousins married white partners, so it was pretty cool. Except that I look so asian next to them =[
It was also a super surprising thing to learn that all the old people could speak English!!

They had a really nice pool, too =] Family picture on the steps next to it!

Pictures were all taken by the bf. He bought a new lens and a big flash just for this event.
| After planning for 1.5 months (and driving up to Irvine/LA literally every weekend to meet with the external vice presidents from USC, UCLA, UCI, and UCR), the Chinese American Student Association finally pulled off All-Cal.
All-Cal is an annual dance competition among all the dance teams from the schools. Clubbing afterwards =] The bf bought two Long Islands for us... for $24 (We didn't have to pay the $15 to get in, so I guess it kind of made up for it...??)
The venue: The Music box at Fonda in Hollywood (they film things for American Idol and MadTV here sometimes) + tickets/flyers
Secret lounge that we chose to close off to the public:
My dress:
I actually tried to go on a diet, but my apartment mate just had to cook me lunch, and the bf's mom cooked me dinner x_x I ended up gaining 2 lbs.
I'm kind of sad that it's over... I wasn't even officially on staff, but the other schools took me in as co-EVP with the bf. I had all the same benefits, including all-access passes!!! The event ended at 2 AM, and we didn't want to drive 2 hours back to San Diego, so we stayed at my apartment in LA. The next day on our way back down to my apartment in San Diego, we stopped by GUPPY TEAHOUSE:
Bf's sister and her co-worker. It took 5 of us to finish it!!! But it was soooo good. I kinda want to go back right now just for that
