Posting this because it comments on the blogging phenom, which speaks to the Eng. IS (see end quote): Dark Knight' mob attacks defenseless film critic.

Guess who's going to Video Games Live tomorrow?

It be mine

Stephanie's Car

Outside our garage, my new old car in foreground (*blisters with pride*), our old old 'burban in the background (it's about 25 now, moved us here all the way from ID back in the day), and behind that, the chicken house and one of the shipping containers/the backyard/field.

Came home again yesterday so my dad could continue the tune-up work, and also to have him look at the modem in my computer, which apparently got fried while I was gone *last* week, because we had thunderstorms and I left the dialup plugged into the wall... *headdesk*. It's a good thing he's checking out the brakes now, because they were apparently almost worn thin, and a handful of parts on each wheel need replacing... ouch... there goes another $250... we knew they were a little funky last week, and they started making nasty noises driving around this week... let's just say it's rather providential that I didn't burst into flames coming home yesterday!

I'm not sure if he'll get the oil leak fixed before I go back or not... I hope so, I'm dumping a lot of oil into the thing. :-/

I feel like crap today, and I hate always coming home to worrying about stuff I have to do for work. There's really nothing I have to worry about, nothing at all, but I can't get my head out of that gear. Takes me a day and a half, and then I get thrown right back into it. Gah!!! Stupid, stupid, stupid well-paying easy-going job that just don't suit me... sigh.

I'm grateful, I promise. Just don't feel good.

24 hours later...

Well, I must say, everyone who gave it a try made a worthily good-natured effort. :) Hats must go off to Josh, though, I think, for being the hands-down most hilarious (oh, my fellow Whosian, I would almost accept the name of "Tootsie McGee" for a chance as the Doctor's companion, let alone being cast in a BBC production!!); and to John, for getting it right on the first try, and being creative about it to boot.

(Why did everyone include some version of a romantic vindication?)

...That is to say, I have a car. Of my own. Yes, finally. Pictures were going to be posted, but the way things turned out, adequate picture taking hasn't happened yet. So maybe tomorrow, otherwise next week, I will have an update with photos.

It is a 1997 Dodge Stratus, white, needing some maintenace work (no airconditioning, oil leak, cassette player is busted, etc.), purchased from the guy who owns the place right next to our church and who always has thoughtful Bible verses posted up on his roadsign. For $1000. Wheeled down by my dad from $1500.

We don't name cars around here, we just call them by their make or model (the blazer, ford, subaru, 'burban, and now my [ooh, it feels good to say "my"!] stratus]. But, John brought up a point too good to be ignored. So it shall be the Stratus (also nice because it's Latin), a.k.a. the Winged Wolf, perhaps a.k.a. Queen Nailah... because it's white, not grey (as I would've prefered), but Queen Nailah is the white wolf in FE10. Or maybe I could name it after the white wolf in TP... hrm. Either way, I think it has a distinct lupine nature, so the idea must stick.

Good game! :)

Let's play a game

I have a surprise bit of news to share, but first, you all get to guess what it is. You get three guesses, and you have until tomorrow evening at this time to post them in the comments.

I'm surprised Luke hasn't posted this yet

We all knew Idahoans were crazy, but who knew that the dementia blows over from Oregon?
