We are always having our connection going out...and if you don't think having a MALE in the middle of a hot and heavy battle on the internet "go out" just as he is about to attack...try a FEMALE not able to even get on ...and ending up with five ports open to the internet...because she can't get a clear entry!! I understand some people developing the ablility to have human to computer interface surgically inplanted into peoples brains! I see multiple implications and complications...1982 being one of them...but the emotional frustration of not having instantanious response is parimont...maybe it is the immature part of us that wants what we want, when we want it....and todays society caters to that ...smoozes our egos into convincing us that we HAVE to have it all NOW!!!!
TWO...which brings me to the BLUE TOOTH!!! CA. law mandates that we have a hands free device to talk on the cell phone in the car. $20 for the first offence ...$50 for the second....haven't heard whatyou get for the tenth offence. So now we have THE BORG walking all over the place talking to the MOTHER SHIP...on the street...in the market...and of course in the cars...now you truely cannot tell the difference between the insane and the marginally insaine...as they all talk to themselves!
I have done some internet research...granted it isn't deeply scientific...but the information I DID uncover makes me shudder! The Blue Tooth, which sits attached to your head...all day...or for hours minimally...right next to your head. Now whatever happened to the concerns about the radiation of cell phones to the human body? Has anyone given this some thought? The BLUE TOOTH emits electromagnetic radiation ...not good for humans...not just when it is "ON" but periodically...to "look" for the cell phone signal...when it is off. There is some consideration about Extra Low Frequencies (ELF)...but we won't touch on that here...but what about the simple low quanities of this radiation...granted it isn't like GAMMA rays...and won't turn you into the HULK...but still...radiation is accumlitive!!
THINK about it people! I feel like the robot on Lost in Space....DANGER!....DANGER!
I am apalled to see old people with white hair...with these "inplants" stuck in their heads...all the way down to the teen! Which brings be around to my first frustration...instaneous response and satisfaction....the message that we are entitled and if we don't have what we want when, we want it ....NOW...then we are somehow missing out, or are second class citizens....It is the replay of The Maddness of Crowds...and the sceem of the Tulip wars!!

Thirty-third Anniversery

Today is the 12th of April. Thirty-three years ago Mike and I were married!

Alot happens over 33 years...

11 children...four married...four grandchildren(one in the oven)...one son in Iraq (army)....two graduations from higher education, two more attending MJC....home schooled career (for Mom), with five graduated from our school (more this year)....Mike developed RP (losing most of his sight)...Mike started his own tax and accounting business in 1996, very successful business....alot of water under the bridge!! It appears that the "river" is still flowing...:)

This tax season Mike had a little visit to the Hospital over Easter weekend...Infected Pancreas...also with symptoms of Shingles....so between the IV's for a few days(in the hospital) and the "herbalist"shoving things down his throat( low fat diet, and anti-virals)...Mike is recovered and back to work!! :)

The 15th is only a few days away, and we can catch our breath, before the next wave of the "river"....:)

Wednesday, March 19, 2008

Hi everyone! I , however,am NOT going to post my diet...but I am going to keep a private journal...so far, I realised that I eat bites here and there, that add up! Yesterday, I Made a yummy croissant sandwich with ham and horseradissh cheese...then I cut it in half...gave half to Shesccah (my other daughter-in-law)...and ate the other half. I had heard somewhere that if you take what you normally eat...and then half it..that is all you need , and you will loose weight. Hey...why not give it a try? :) Today I had a Chinese lunch...Kung pow chicken with chicken fried rice....I picked out most of the chicken and ate the veggies and half of the rice. Next time I'm ordering something without so much meat, and white rice...I don't think I like fried rice...to oily I think or something.

Yesterday, the six "boys" and I went for a long hike...must have been 5+ miles!! I was so worn out..I think I should have brought water...:) Next time!... Today I am walking somewhat normal...but I am sore!! It was a beautiful day...a little cool...yet warm enough not to be cold. Sunny...mostly blue skies (only a few Chemtrails)...listened to the birds...and watched the kids have fun. You Know...young kids remind me of Puppy dogs...you are walking along...and the young kids are running circles around you...just like little puppies! Makes an adult feel old...:) hahaha! Tomorrow the youngest of the six, and I are going to go hike, while the older six go to a Birthday "thingy" in the same park...but only for an hour...Jacob has school work...so that is a good reason not to over do it...:) I'll bring water this time...:)

So...How's Your tune-up coming along?

Monday, March 03, 2008

This is the hobbit capes that I made for the boys for Christmas...actually, I gave them the material, and made the capes after Christmas...when I wasn't so pressured.
Aaron is on the right back....Mark is on the left back....Levi is in the center front.....Levi is totally in character, being barefoot....:)

SEWING

well...I am well into Jan., and I have made two "Hobbit" capes...one for Levi and one for Mark...although Mark's didn't have a lining, and he complains that it is "ichy" as it is wool...so I think I have some left over lining from the next cape that I am making for Aaron, to line Marks. This is my relaxing type of activity...costumes...:) After Aaron's, I do have a piece off-white wool varigated velvet that I got on the sales table that I am thinking of making into a cape...it is really beautiful! Although Jonathan has voiced the desire to have a cape too. Hummm....the wools are quickly disappearing from the fabric stores...this may be difficult...:) Then I'm not sure...I think Stephen wanted a non-formal cape...he had a formal cape made for the "Ball" he and Jacob went to at the beginning of Jan. Jacob hasn't really pushed me about a cape...maybe he is too old ....naw!...he is just too busy...what with school...and he is all "twitter-paitted" over a certain girl down in southern Ca....that he is now formally "courting"....hehehe! :) My! How they DO grow up! Well...off to the sewing machine...tata...:)

Busy before the new year begins

It isn't even the start of 2008, and I am hitting the trail running! I am making Stephen a cape for the Masquerade Ball he and Jacob are attending the 5th of Jan.....so my week after Christmas is full of activities to get them ready to travel there (riding AMTRAK the 1st )...and to look GOOD at the Ball...:) That, plus the minor gift exchanges for oversized clothing...and having house guests...my life is busy. :) But it is a good busy. "sigh"...when they leave I will need to procure Jacob's school books...since the day that they get back from their travels, Jacob gets to start his Spring classes at MJC....and it is the home stretch for Stephen...he is graduating High School this year! Then we will have two students attending Jr. College...FUN!

Have a Happy new Year!! Love to All...Anna:)

A Severin Christmas

Good Morning!!
Today is the Sunday before Christmas! We got up and watched Charles Stanley as a family, watched David's dog Daisy and our dog Chase finally walk in the same room without snapping at each other. That is alot more relaxing around hear if the dogs are happy.
We have a full house for Christmas ...that is the fun part of Christmas...hey! it's just like the Brady house hold on their Christmas show...:) hahaha...Fun!
We are breaking out the fruit cake...and planning our day out..food shopping ( a sacred occupation...hehehe)...the guys are going off shooting ( typical guy thing.)...and us girls are gonna wrap gifts and see if we can talk some of the younger guys into cooking cookies...:) There are 3 females to 10 males...:) That is just the right ratio!! hahaha!!

Hoping your Christmas is as FUN!! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!

Tuesday, August 22, 2006

OK, the young men in our family and I were having a discussion. Topic : are women smarter than men? are men stupid? are women all stupid blonds? etc.

We all hear different variations on this topic...and various jokes abound around this topic...but what do I want my male children to think of this subject?

Women are very smart. Men are very smart. Both are very smart in the same things, in different things. Both become competitive when they believe they are being put down just because they are blond, buff, male, female, black, white, brown, yellow, etc. Some get hurt feelings (male and female) and go on the offensive and want to hurt others.

My opinion?

There is always going to be someone smarter than you. You can ridicule that person, that race that gender...which reveals more about the fact that you are immature, and have low self-esteem...abusing others around you. Or you can realise that today someone is better than you, and when you study or practice more, you will take your place being better, then someone else will take their turn being better tomorrow. The thing is that smarts has no sex, neither does stupid behavior. The key to the "sex wars"?...it's easy...hey guys, acknowledge that, yea, girls are very smart...some may be smarter than you are but that isn't all that bad is it? Women simply want to be recognised as smart, and appriciated for their brains or talents. No big deal, if a guy would tell a girl how much he respected and appriciated smart women, he would be the most sought after male in his neighborhood!!! AND....guys, when women are recognized for how smart they are, they aren't going to be competive, but co-operative...and women are very good at networking, they blend well with good leaders. You guys WANT a very smart woman for your wife...she will make your team twice as smart and twice as powerful!! AND she will LOVE you twice as much!!! Take my word for it! :)

You gals...those guys are very, very smart, especially if they can be a competive Male and function in the competive Male world, and still figure out how to get along with us women, and love us and WANT to be our Knight. You know that we need those men....being around men is a nice break from being around all those women in our lives....and you women out there know what I'm talking about!!! Yup! We women like to pride ourselves on being socially superior....I think that the male species wins that distinction hands down when they put their lives down for us women, and love us more than their own selves.

Who is the smartest? The best? hahahah....Without each other we are nothing.... As a team....We are MAN....just as GOD designed!

And that is my opinion....Mom Severin :)

back to life

Well...we have had our vacation for the summer...now it's time to get back to living!

David came home for two weeks fron Iraq. It was really nice to have him home. We also had company, so we bugged-out to the family cabin...cool high country! David brought his girlfriend and her parents, then the rest of the kids came up as they were able. We had a full house!!!Had a family picture taken... boy we have a big family!! you don't really think about it until you see a picture! However, our family is now growing again...no I'm not expecting!!...David is going to get MARRIED! Yup! Keli and David have a ring...David got it on the one day between his arrival from Iraq and Keli's arrival from PENN. He waited a day to ask her...I thought he would burst waiting for the "right time" hahaha...she was totally surprised! the only one who didn't know what was going to happen was Jonathan...and Keli! We all had a conspiracy of silence, FUN! hehehe As for the time of marriage...that is determined on David's schedual in the military...we have to see.

So now we have to just get back to life around here.:) Anna
