| This is just a post giving the 360 homies a heads up about Sunday
night. We are going to be studying the next stage of Undignified
thru the life of Dave. Make sure to bring your Bibles and a pen
as we check out the way David handled lament. Lament is serious
sorrow and depression over an issue. As believers, we can
sometimes gloss over the biblical importance of being sad for a
time. I personally hate being sad. Glossing over a bummer
period of my life is A.- O.K. with me most of the time. God, our
designer, has a better plan in mind. That plan includes
experiencing periods of sadness...well. Come and check out how on

| Today rocked. 360 jumped into a couple vehicles and headed on out
to Matthiesen State Park for a full day of hiking, river walking, and
waterfall exploring. The highlight for me was taking a river
trail back to the primary trail that ended up being nothing but
slippery mud that ate a couple of the team's shoes. The creek
walked evolved into water fights, silent prayer walks, and watching
Andrea Garcia fall into a pit of sinking sand. Well, maybe not
sinking sand, but it was pretty dang close. We capped off the day
by stopping in Ottawa at my new favorite coffee location: Jeremiah
Joe's and enjoyed some blended java. We found out that the shop
is actually owned and run by a church that meets on the second
floor. I met the Pastor and he seemed to be a pretty rad
hombre. I'm a bit sunkissed, have pruny toes, but my heart is
warm due to the awesome crew I have the honor of serving. Special
props to Sarah, Brandon, and Zach for driving. Good times.

| Man, what a night. Cuba Beach Resort went pretty rad on Sunday
night. Whether it was the awesome food (Chicken Pot Pie was my
favorite, Emily!) or Brad's string of encouragements, this proved to be
one of, if not THE, best grad dinners thus far. Our senior's
rock. Though I will miss these awesome hombres, we will get a
chance to cherish them throughout the summer. 360 homies, make
sure to get your Summer Pass in ASAP (even this weekend) to ensure your
spot in a Crac van and your free 360 T.
As the sweet summer air seeps into town, thank our God who created
warmth. I find myself enjoying the seasonal shift this time of
year more and more each year. Thank you, Lord.

| Though I still have my congestion riddled nose bothering me, I feel pretty great all things considered. I felt pretty nasty Friday - Saturday. Thankfully most of that is behind me. Major props to all of the 360 homies on Sunday night at the Mansion. Jason Domingo is super rad. Thank you for partnering on the design / set up of the whole sha-bang. I appreciate those of you who randomly helped clean up. You guys rock. I'm stoked at the prospect of students engaging Scripture with more confidence and enthusiasm. I hope that the mansion either opened new doors for this journey or reignited your passion to explore God's word. Ginger the dog, you also rock. Quality job at playing Jude.
I'm psyched about this weekend's Saturday Service. We are going to be discussing important issues relating to The Da Vinci Code. Pastor Dave was gracious enough to jump in for me last minute when I realized I was feeling way too cruddy to teach last weekend. I think God is doing something awesome in this culturally significant event.
Today I'm enjoying hanging out with Julie and the kids. Jules is, herself, feeling a bit under the weather so we are going to take care of things around the house. I can't wait for shorts weather again (kind of random thought but true, nonetheless).
| Wow, its been over a month since I have journaled. My relationship with my xanga has become cold and feeble. Not anymore, however. I am renewing my commitment to jot down daily thoughts and happenings. I have enjoyed reading a lot of your entries. Looking over Julie's shoulders as she has faithfully continued blogging has been a big inspiration.
Speaking of Julie, she did an awesome job at 360. After returning from a sweet Service Trek expedition with Tony Garcia, Jackie Kelly, Sheree Pentoney, Andrea Garcia, and Jordi Phillips (plus several CYC and H20 homies), I dragged my dirty body into the hallowed halls of MBC to get ready for student ministry. Knowing I'd be physically and emotionally spent from the weekend project and long desiring to have Julie plug her talents into 360, having her speak was an obvious choice. She served a phenomenal look at the issue of encouragement. Jan Eddy gave me some helpful advice: Julie should speak more often and I should listen. Thanks, Jan.
But the night had a sweetness to it that was truly God given. From bucketball to Biblemen, from shuffle groups to Julie, 360 really touched my heart. And then hearing voices (average voices, talented voices, even off key voices) raised to Heaven as we sat, Indian style, and worshiped God in the dimly lit room. Sitting next to Bittermann on the Jimbay drum and Eric Coleman on guitar, I was digging the fact that the group's voices increasingly raised louder than the instruments. Praise God for cool experiences like that where His love and His people mesh in one moment. His grace is enough.
