Of Sand, Stew and Sunburns

On vacation I:

  1. Played on the beach (no swimming, but still fun)
  2. Picked blueberries
  3. Ate the above
  4. Made Oyster stew
  5. Ate the above
  6. Helped shuck oysters (they are real buggers to get out of the shell)
  7. Got bitten by gazilions of bugs.
  8. Made a grass rope that was five feet long.  It was pretty strong too ;)
  9. Did not eat the above
  10. Almost got dragged out to sea in a kayak
  11. Was given a spider lily in a pot grown from a random seed my grandpa found in Guam. Until a little bit ago, he had no clue what it was
  12. Played Miss Pac Man (died on the first level almost every time)
  13. Got a sunburn (our grandparents dog enjoys licking off people's sunscreen)
  14. Finished Undaunted Courage for school.  Don't read it. It's depresing. :EDIT: So is my spelling...
  15. Started what is so far (in my opinion) the best biography of Stonewall Jackson. It's called "All things for good."  Really neat.
  16. Watched Bonanza.  Saw the Adams family for the first time.
  17. Washed the dog three times in two days (there were ducks in the water that she wanted to catch.  It was muddy water and she went in as far as she could Twice..  AFTER I had just washed her.)
  18. SOLVED THE RUBIK'S CUBE! AH-HA!

Desptite (or because of, in some cases) the above, I am glad to be home.  Dixie is glad too.

So long,

Kara

Beth at Nats

Beth is gone to Texas.

I am supposed to Update. What fun! So, she competed in Extemporaneous (current Events) and Lincoin-Douglas Debate.  She debated 6 rounds, and gave 6 extemp speeches, but did not break to outrounds in either.  But she is fine with that (high moral is good right now - it means she is getting enough sleep) and We are so happy because several people from our team (and region) broke to out rounds in C-X Debate and other speech events.

Enjoy!

Btw, my garden is in now, but the bugs are out...

Wow.  I feel like I'm intruding... do I dare post?

HA! I'm posting!

My garden isn't in yet.  Ahummmm.

Thunder over Louisville is tommorow.  Fun.  I won't be seeing it.  I will survive.

I REALLY want to go to Jordan's wedding.  As in, REALLY,REALLY, REALLY want to go.

In the mean time, Ethan, you can blog about your thoughts on Francis Schaffer.  If I spelled his name right.  If not, you can talk about your garden.  What kind of pea do you plant?

Hi. Ethan is nagging.  Bah humbug.

In my grow lights in the basement (my grandpa gave it to me, I don't have that much money to spend on starting seeds) I now have growing:

Garlic

Thyme

Parsley

Peppers

and Cilantro

Ha. I posted.
