    Birthday

    by

    Marc Chagall

('Marc Chagall' July 7, 1887 and of course we were born in the same month)

"Chagall chose to paint lovers, workers, musicians and animals. He depicted ordinary scenes but transformed them into dreamlike worlds. Figures •oat, forms dissolve or are superimposed on each other. There are often multiple perspectives on one canvas. Colors are strong and vibrant but inspired by emotion not reality. In his painting "The Birthday" we see Bella offering Chagall •owers for his birthday. Chagall and Bella both float through the air over red furniture and •oor. Chagall often painted himself floating through his paint-ings. Chagall’s style was inventive and original-- sometimes called Fantastic Art. This style is similar to Surrealism in its dream-like quality. It is also a mixture of Cubism and memory of childhood, folklore and country life. He said, "My little town may have vanished long ago, but I carry its images always in my heart."

Wow….I really got knocked off my feet., some sort of flu bug / sinus infection.   I went down like a great timber and stayed there for the last couple of days.  However, after continues treatments of drinking lots of Osha-root tea and doing vinegar steams…I am almost back to normal, I should be back up and running by Sunday, I hope to then make my rounds. Thank you all for your love and support.

I am feeling better just in time to gently celebrate and embrace my birthday tomorrow!  Gifts from the gods include Mr. Tucker’s new awesome family, my houseguest moving into her own place, I will spend my birthday reclaiming my home and spending the night back in my own lovely room.   While I have been recuperating, I have been watching videos in bed, OMG!  As an artist I am soooooooo inspired!  I watched Artists of the 21st Century and tapes on two of my favorites ~ Chagall and Matisse.

May all who pass here, know that you are in my thoughts,

    Hugs, Ms. Liz

Mr. Tucker has moved out and now has a new family....

Toma, Ms. Ruby, new Mom Amy, and Mr. Tucker.

He now has a big house and big yard, and what seems to be a really good loving, laid back mom. Amy also has a ten year old daughter that is away for the summer but will be returning soon.  They have a very social home, which I think Mr. Tucker will appreciate since he has such an outgoing personality. Yes, it was difficult, but I felt at peace as I drove away because I know he deserves all that this family has to offer.  As I was leaving, I told Mr. Tucker that he was staying; he walked over and sat down by Amy's feet as if to say...

"It's OK mom, I'm home now."

  • Tears verging

    Throat tight

    Breath shallow;

    the core of my being

    quivers with pain.

    Lamenting moans

    from deep within

    Escape me.

    Limbs heavy

    Movements measured

    Ache.

    My soul doth ache.

    Overwhelming sadness

    Regrets

    Accountability

    Reflections on the past.

    A shroud of darkness

    a small

    beguiling light

    luring

    me inward

    flames dancing brightly

    Aware, that I

    Am not alone.

    Awakened to

    A voice

    A song

    offering

    Refuge

    Solace

    Hope

Promises of days yet to be.

About Me

  • I am the feminine; I love, nurture and create. I embrace the masculine; I carry, support, and honor. I am both…I bend, yield, and yet remain centered. I know only this…that…I know nothing at all. Artist, Mother, Lover, Dancer, Writer, Philosopher, Chef, Masseuse, Reiki Practitioner, Friend, Sister, Daughter, Woman. I am the Feminine.
