I'M ALIVE!!

I can't believe I still have this site and I remember the password.  =)

I’m very bad with time and memories…but I do know that I had a good time this weekend.  I believe it was Friday that I made my way up to Adam and Morgan.  Yanghi, Yoshi and I drove up there…I had to switch off with Yoshi because I realized that I was too drunk to drive.  We met up with Mina and Mike who came down from New York.  We didn’t get to celebrate Mike’s B-day either Saturday or Sunday but at least I got to see him Friday.

Saturday I went to Café Nix and met up with a lot of people I haven’t seen in awhile.  They had a Karaoke room and lots of drinks…so many people showed up that everybody couldn’t fit.  Afterwards we went back to my place and drank even more…the rest of the night is a blur.

Sunday…well I missed Christmas with my family because I slept in.  I feel bad for it but I made it up to them.  I spent Monday afternoon with them and of course gave them their presents which helped.  =)  Not much else to say except that I hope everybody had a good 2005 and that 2006 treats you guys even better.

Since I’ve finished all the requirements here at Fort Jackson…I’m just hanging out with my classmates.  So far it’s a lot of fun and today we just played games.  It’s going to be like this until I leave this place.  I can’t wait to sit in my car and head for home.  I can’t wait to see my family, Aijee, my friends, and of course the area.  Oh and I miss my room.  Before I left home…I had so much on my mind…work, relationship, friends, family, etc.  But now it’s as if my mind has been wiped clean.  No worries and no hang-ups.

This past weekend…oh wow I had so much fun.  I went to Orlando Florida to see my mother who I haven’t seen in five years.  To me she still the most beautiful woman with a great heart.  Also saw my two brothers, Chris (not the Chris you guys know) and Jacob.  Chris is 22 and Jacob is 7.  Chris showed me a good time while in Orlando.  Another thing I wasn’t used to is that he showed a lot of respect for me since I was his older brother.  I must also add that he’s a good-looking guy…a great catch for any of you single women out there.  Mom hooked me up with great Korean food non stop…it was awesome.  Being there was so relaxing that I actually finished reading a book.

Here’s a thing that bothered me a bit though.  My mom gave me $300 even though I kept saying no and saying I had a job.  She wouldn’t take a no for an answer…I kinda felt bad taking something I didn’t need or want.  Then right after that…my aunt and uncle gave me $100 even though I tried not to take it.  I don’t think I’m going to spend it…I rather buy them a great Christmas gift or give it to my brother Chris in VA.  Since Chris has been having money trouble lately.

I also got to see an old High School friend…KELLY!!!!  I got to hang out with her for a little bit on Friday but spent more time on Saturday.  We got to do a lot of catching up and also talk about the past.

I’M COMING HOME SOON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Virginia is getting their Wood back!!!

I just got finished paying off all my bills online…I’m broke now.  I might have to use my credit cards in order for me to spend the weekends off post.  I rather spend money to get away then stay and save money.  I just really enjoy staying at the hotel and getting away from the Army.  Especially the big bed, TV, and nobody yelling down the hall.

There are a lot of soldiers at my barracks that are young and immature.  They believe they can do what ever they want and get away with it.  They scream and yell even if its 2300 hours, knowing that we have to wake up at 0430.  Another thing that bothers me is that some of the soldiers disrespect those of a higher rank.  They get in trouble for it but its like the others don’t learn from it.

I admit that I break a lot of rules at my company but I don’t get caught.  I believe its because I keep a low profile by giving the impression I’m squared away.  Such as keeping my uniform ironed, boots shined, room clean, and of course paying the respect that’s due.  This makes them believe I don’t do anything wrong and if I did…they would be shocked but they would let me go.  Also I’m cool with everybody…so a lot of the guys look out for me by supplying warnings and info on what’s going on.

One of the biggest rules they have here is that my company can’t mess around with any of the other companies…basically no fraternization.  So far, many of the guys have already got in trouble for this especially the ones who are married.  In the Military it’s completely illegal to cheat on your spouse.  If caught you can actually go to jail, lose rank, or even give up huge chunk of money.  One guy, Tomlin is his name, lied about his rank (he put on a higher rank on his uniform), also about having the bronze star, and about his wife and kids being killed in a car accident.  Who does that?  I mean I couldn’t even imagine ever saying something like that about somebody I loved…not even in a joking manner.  Well Tomlin did.  Just so he could mess around with this one girl.  He got caught so now he’s the biggest story on the block.  Basically he’s in some serious shit.  I don't agree with cheating...I think the shit comes back and bites you in the ass.  I don't think its hard at all to stay with one girl.

I guess I’ll end this journal entry on a HOOAH!!!

I have to come up with five random things about me?  When it comes to conversation Mina…its very easy for me to be random but this…this is hard.  Haha

I think I’ll just talk about things that nobody knows about.

  1. There would have been another Wood in the family…my sister didn’t make it past the birth.  She would have been 22 or 23 now.

  1. I was born in New York and moved constantly since then.  Lived in NY, NJ, PA, FL, TN, AR, Korea, and of course VA.  Virginia is the first place I’ve actually lived at longer then three years.

  1. Kissed a girl for the first time when I was 17…actually started everything at 17.  Hell I still remember the song that was playing when I got that kiss.  =)

  1. I like Mayo sandwiches…usually to get a quick fix.  But I absolutely love Garbi and anything with pasta.

  1. Two regrets…hurting this one girl and not jumping into a fight that involved my brother.

Whoa…okay there!!  I know that it was really random but its all I can think of at the time.

I had a great time this weekend…hanged out near Downtown Columbia.  Had a great hotel room and got to watch some movies.  Saturday was a mandatory fun/work day…they barbecued and also had Red Cross come by to get some blood.  They told me no because I had to wait 56 days after giving my last blood.  It was success so there was no PT this morning.  I have to leave now…I have to be back at the barracks by 9 or I’ll be in some serious shit.

“Here's to the crazy ones. The misfits. The rebels. The trouble-makers. The round pegs in the square holes. The ones who see things differently. They're not fond of rules, and they have no respect for the status-quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify, or vilify them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius. Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world, are the ones who do.”~~~Apple computers

By the way…anybody that reads this…I want to see five random things about you!!
