Have you done the Sacred Heart Diet?? Do you know if you really lose 10-17 lbs doing the diet??
Answer
I haven't tried out the Sacred Heart Diet before and judging by the requirements, I wouldn't attempt it. The only reason is, if you're already anorexic or borderline, you're probably eating under 1000 cals/day. This diet was designed for people who were eating 3000 cals/day. Of course it's easy to lose weight if you go from 3000 cals/day to 1500! But if you're ana and you go from eating 300 cals/day to 1500, then it'll have a reverse effect and you'll probably start gaining weight. This is only taken from experience and theory but you can definitely give it a go and let me know the results! I'm currently doing an experiment right now (if you go on my site you'll notice I've got a whole Day 1/Day 2 thing going on) eating about 200 cals more than usual per day and I haven't been gaining weight so who knows! I would stick with something a little more subtle and easily controlled than this diet though. Just my opinion but if anyone tries it out pleeease let me know what happens! | | |
| Question
Is there any way to loose 2121 calories per day with a 300 or less calorie intake? How much excersise would i have to do and what kind (besides running)?
Answer
Yep and it's pretty easy too! First I'd recommend going onto www.caloriesperhour.com and calculating your BMR (not BMI). Your basic metabolic rate tells you how many calories you burn just by being alive. Most people are between 1300 and 1800, but it just depends (I'm 1450 but I was 1535 when I had more muscle mass). Since that already eliminates a good chunk of calories, I'd use Caloriesperhour to find out how many calories you're burning doing any tasks you do daily. I work in a juice bar and just in the 2 hours I work, I burn 500 cals...just by mopping, sweeping, dishwashing and making smoothies! Once you've figured out those calories, see what kind of exercise you're up for and just calculate the calories. If you go down to my previous answers, I recommend Stairmaster for quick calorie burning. If you set it to a high level, you can easily burn 300-400 calories in 20 minutes! Good luck :)

How long can you fast for the longest? How much weight did you lose least within 1 1/2 months?
Answer
I personally don't find fasts the best way to go for long-term weight loss. They're good detoxers if you're feeling bloated or recently binged, but I wouldn't exceed 24-48 hour fasts. Usually when I fast, I'll still get nutrients from drinks like lite apple juice and lite choc. soy milk, as well as drinking lots of water. Diet drinks aren't that bad but they have no nutrients in them, but the carbonated water actually makes you feel full. Another fast I like is the fruit/veggie fast. Most fruits and veggies are low or negative calorie and their acids help cleanse your system. This fast is a lot easier to disguise if you're worried about family and friends noticing your eating habits.
Last year to the beginning of this year I found I lost weight the least. I lost most of my weight through exercise, rather than diet. I would run about 5 miles every second day and do lots of weight training and cardio. I was in great shape, but I would still eat 1500-2500 calories/day. My diet usually consisted of a normal breakfast (cereal and milk with a piece of fruit), sandwich at lunch, and then pasta with bread and/or soup for dinner. I lost approx. 11 lbs in 3 months with that diet and exercise regimen.

| Question
What kind of exercising did you do while you were losing your weight? And I need to lose 33 pounds in I would say 3 months maybe, or a little more, so what are some things I can do that won't get me on an anorexic diet?
Answer
I changed my exercise routine around a lot. At the beginning of my weight loss, I ran a lot. Running is probably one of the best ways to lose weight; you burn about 100 calories/mile. If running isn't really your thing, I recommend the elliptical and/or the stairmaster. I had a stairmaster addiction from April-June and that's when I lost the most weight (this was also paired with my diet, though). Any exercise is better than no exercise at all. If you want to check out how many calories you're burning in your exercise routines (ex. Pilates, running, walking, biking, mopping, sweeping, cleaning, anything!) then I'd recomment checking out www.caloriesperhour.com
Determining a healthy diet while trying to lose such a high amount of weight without knowing your current diet is a little tough to do. I'd recommend cutting out all fast foods and if you absolutely must eat at a fast food restaurant (with family, friends, etc), most offer side salads. Log on to some of your favourite restaurants' websites and check out their nutritional information..you'd be amazed at just how many calories and fat are in some seemingly "harmless" meals. Try to stay away from high-carb pasta, dairy products since they're harder to digest, and anything fried. Salads work wonders but stay away from any creamy or high-cal/fat dressings such as ranch, Thousand Island, French, Greek and Caesar. Anything with the term "vinaigrette" is usually the safest route if they don't offer low-fat/low-cal options. Lastly, don't skip breakfast. Breakfast is the easiest meal to get most of your nutrients for the day and you have less chances of gorging later on in the day. If you have any personal diet questions then just ask :)

Hi ... im a beginning ana .. and i was wondering if you got any tips or tricks for me? im also a vegetarian and i run track, but it never seems to work for me. anything you can help me with? -mybox
Answer
When I was just developing ana, I was really active and a vegetarian too so I thought I was doing pretty well but I never lost any weight. The best thing to do is analyze your diet for about a week or so and see what you really eat. I realized that practically every day I was eating out at a restaurant with my mom and having pasta, bread, soup, salad, all in one meal! It didn't have any meat but it had about 1500 calories! I also advise not to whittle down your calorie intake from, say, 2000 a day right to 200. It's just not going to work and you'll give up and get discouraged. I brought my calories down to about 900 at first, then my intakes just decreased naturally. Good luck!
