Well, here I am at Biola!  This is my 6th day, and so far each day has been incredible.  Campus is definitely beginning to feel like home, (which it really did even the first day) and I'm loving getting all situated in my dorm with Kylee (the coolest roomate) in Hart Hall (the coolest dorm).  Even more than simply the physical aspects of the campus and dorm, Biola, and particularly the Torrey program, really feels like home as a community.  Incoming Torrey Freshman have been on campus since monday, and the more I get to know everyone, the more excited I am to spend the next four years wiht them.  It is wonderful to have the common bond of loving the Lord and loving to learn, discuss and probe ideas, and to grow in unerstanding.  All the other Biola students have been arriving yesterday and today, so the campus is much less quiet now, and there's a whole new bunch of people to meet, which can be overwhelming at times, dispite the fun of it.

I will try to put my past week in a nutshell, hard as that my be, since I need to start cranking through Plato soon (*yay!*) .  The main thing that I have been impacted by this week is the realization of how much my college is going to require of me-- mind, heart, spirit and hands.  On tuesday, our Torrey groups met for our first session, discussing Dr. J.P. Moreland's book, Love your God with all Your Mind (which I highly reccomend!).  My group is titled "Sayers," as in Dorothy Sayers, and consists of 16 freshman Torrey students.  I was really impressed by the insights of some of my classmates as we wrestled thorugh issues of ideas and belief.  Even more so, I was impressed with the teachablility that everyone displayed as a result of some of the things that we got to talk about.  Torrey is not a program where you study facts, take a test, and then forget them.  You cannot cheat, work th system or simply slide by; Torrey requires the devotion of the entire person and the rigorous use of the mind in hashing through, seeking out, and hopefully discovering the depths of the wisdom and love of our most amazing God. I am excited to embark on this adventure, and I pray that God will empower my to do so to the best of my abilities and beyond even that.  I pray that He will draw me deeper into His love and truth, and grant me an understanding of His message and a passion both to seek it with every once of energy and to see it proclaimed to all men.  As God reminds you, please pray that also!

The vision of Torrey is really in line with the heart of God, and I am so glad that He has put me here.  I really want to keep in touch with everyone, so please do email me, or call or whatever!

Much love--Autumn

5 DAYS UNTIL I LEAVE FOR BIOLA!!  I can't believe it!  This week I've been stocking up on all the things that I'm going to need for school.  It's crazy how much stuff we need just for living! We've been working on all the paper work and stuff, too, and there is a ton of that as well.  Please keep my in your prayers as you remember too, especially in the area of being able to pay for my tuition!   I can't wait to get up there and see what the lord has in store!

I hope that everyone is enjoying their last few days of summer!

Today we leave for Sedona and will be gone over the weekend.  Fun stuff.

My creativity is pretty much absent at the moment, so I won't attempt to say something profound or  hillarious; it would just be sad. hehe!

Have a nice weekend!

Life is good.  I'm getting everything ready to leave for school now--10 more days!  Last night was my last night at youth group, which is really weird.  So, I'm just trying to spend time with people I love before I go and get everything organized so I don't freak out when I get to school!    It's gonna be so awesome!!

Been a long time, would you say?

I am in Ohio right now with my friend Sarah, and we are having the rockinest time.  Summer has been sweet--Fling, Worldveiw, Mammoth, Yosemite, Ohio...and pretty soon BIOLA!

It will probably be another long durration before you hear from me again...but maybe at school, with high speed internet 24-7, that might change.  I need to get technology literate.

An to amuse you:

"It has been said in praise of some men, thatthey could talk whole hours together upon anything; but it must be said in the honor of the other sex, that there are many among them who can talk whole hours together uponnothing."  -Benjamin Franklin (Dogood Papers; No.XII)
