The Death and Destruction of my mind is OVER!!!

Ahem, A.K.A, Parents Day. Where everyone and their mom (literally) comes to Honey Rock, removes our vital organs in order to play catch with them for a couple of hours before they give them back, and then buy a T-shirt. This was yesterday, and I learned (in my very awful way) why some kids reminded me of possessed elves and other's, well, basically decent little people. It comes from their PARENTS. Heaven help me I am NOT going to have children for quiet some time. (deep breaths). Sooooo insane.

I now have the luxury of working this last week in peace, and enjoying the fine company of all these crazy (but in best of ways) peoples.

My Dear Friends...

Undoubtedly this has been, for me, a summer of reflection. I have met new people, seen new things, been completely thrown out of my comfort zone, and learned a good deal about myself. Aspects of my character that need a good tweaking, (thanks to God who's always faithful to show me what needs change right when I should see it, which is all the time, it's just a matter of my heart being softened). This all probably sounds very generic, and perhaps this is because we are all learning something new every day, so  in reality it isn't anything new, but I wanted to share. This is more of a short note, but I miss you guys horribly and hope that your summer's are going well:) See you soon.

Too much of a good thing...

My title really doesn't have anything to do with what I'm going to share, I just felt like saying it.

It is sooooo stinkin hot in here right now. That's pretty much the first thing people say when they walk in. "Wow, it's really warm in here!" I feel like one of these times I should stand up so fast that my chair gets knocked over and say with great enthusiasm, "OH MY GOODNESS!!! I never NOTICED that before!!" I think it'd be pretty funny, but they'd probably pick up on the sarcasm and be "non-pleased" with me. I guess no one would think that the two huge fridges, two moderately large freezers, along with three running computers would ever pump out warm air due to the amount of electricity they guzzle and make this room HOT. Who knew. I'm not sarcastic at all. Not a bit. We do have four fans running by the windows so that we have some circulation, but it pretty much just circulates warm air. (sigh) oh well.

So I went on a little trip the other day:) Went to New York for four days to visit Michael and hang out. It was amazing:) Honestly, not only did it do my heart a world of good to be able to see Mike again (don't get me wrong, it would do my heart a plus world of good to see my dear friends again, and you know who you are), but I also got some much needed time off and rest. There's something to be said for staying with the family of a director of an all boys camp (Deerfoot Lodge in the Adirondacks:). Chief Ron's family was so wonderful:) Here are some more plus experiences I had while staying there:

-No electricity. This means bumping around in the dark in the middle of the night looking for a flashlight that you thought you left on the desk, but apparently didn't.

-Second night there, bat enters cabin and scares life out of second to youngest little daughter (Abby). Did you know that if you knock a bat to the ground it can't take off from that area? Nice little factoyed learned there.

-Met Willow, the family's fun three legged cat. Poor thing still thinks it has it's leg, so it, (ahem) "paws" at you with it to get your attention.

-Worked in the camp office and got attacked by Michael's campers a couple of time, involving lots of chanting of my name in which I had no idea of what to do. I tried to hide, but that's hard when you're one of the few girls in an all boys camp.

-Third night, got a temperature of 102.1. Wasn't feeling so hot. Went to bed. End of story.

-Got "Mill Streamed," which means that all of the counselors surround you and your, "bou" and form a circle, dancing about and singing. Yep. Crazy:)

I really had a wonderful time, and now we only have one session left (two weeks) and then five days before I head back home for a bit. It's crazy how fast time flies. I'm really looking forward to school starting up again and moving into our crazy house (big smile), but in the mean time, I'll just hang out here, re-stock the shelves, perhaps read a bit, who knows. Later:)

My butt hurts...

...quiet a bit.

It's another lovely day in Wisconsin, and I am aching allllll ooover. Yesterday I did what the girls on my floor call Eagle River Challenge (biking 20 miles to Eagle River and back), with Carrie and Melissa, and I am in pain. Those bike seats were not meant for long distance other wise they might just have a little bit more padding. In the mean time it's just going to have to be hard going as far as sitting down:(

The kids around here really remind me of little possessed elves. Seriously. Their high pitched voices and crazy twitchy movements are more than a bit scary. I just saw one go by caring a pole with a teddy bear rammed through the end of it, and laughing. Hmm, maybe I won't leave the Beehive today.
