news2 Volunteer Coordinator from ACS sent me this story. I wish they could post that in the lobby down there. Any story to teach folks bringing in not wanted pets that there is more to animals than they seem to realize.

Do I think they'll turn around and take their cat back home and try again? No but maybe they will think a little more before getting another one.

Got lots I want to do today. But I have to keep walking to a minium or put up with the pain. Surely dropping the bottle on the top of my foot a week ago has no bearing on the sudden onset of heel pain in that foot. May have to make a podiatrist appt. Monday. sigh

Yesterday while my butt was planted here I had fun making some headers for Darri. I need to keep my mind busy with the PSP or forget how to do stuff. I need to suck it up and attempt some animation again. I like them but I also realize they use up more bandwidth and if you are on dial up they make for a slow load.

I am missing my morning cup of decaf. Could of used it this morning as the cool breeze blows into my house leaving all the dust particles outside.   Thursday morning I got up with chest pain that went right through my sternum to my back. I knew it was gastric reflux. I've been assured if I ever had heart pain I'd know the difference.

When coach signed me in at the pool and asked how I was; being a smarty pants and tired of common response I said "oh fine except for the chest pain". Mistake. He summoned the lifeguard and I had to tell her I knew it was gastric. Her husband has had such so she knew I knew. I really should be careful with my flip remarks.

Well hub was to spray our yard with insecticide to keep fleas from neighbor's yard at bay. Don't know how he will with the wind blowing so hard. See it never pays to put anything off. lol

OK folks let's make May 21st as Doug Day. Look through your emails for his address, send me one if you can't find it. Those not wanting to use snail can send eCard.

yay!

What a neat story!  Amazing what animals can do, isn't it??

I know what you mean about being careful what you say.  Have noticed this in rehab.

May 21 sounds good.  Thanks for the address.  That is long enough after Ken's surgery on the 13th that I should remember to send a card.  Think I will make the card out soon, so it just has to be popped into the mail.  Great idea, Bonnie.

RYC:  Hmmm---that makes 3 or 4 fireplaces Ken needs to build.  lol  Not gonna happen!  He can't do much around here anymore outside of routine maintenance.

Well I cannot let a challenge like that go by unaccepted!

Here I am commenting again. I get nervous when people point one finger at me. I prefer two or more.

If I got to nap in the sun as often as I liked then a seeing eye cat might just work for me.

I'm not usually a pessimist but I don't think people who dump animals are likely to make the connection. They probably think leaving them at the shelter is not dumping. But that was a sweet story.

What a great story! I can't imagine my cat doing that for my dog. Fortunately she doesn't need to.

No, you won't necessarily know you are having a heart attack!! Most knowledge about heart attack knowledge is from men's heart attacks. Women are more likely to have a heart attack that is not as obvious as a man's. If your discomfort is in any way, even very slightly, different from what you clearly recognize as gastric reflux, call 911 or get to the emergency room. Better safe than sorry. The docs don't know when mom had a heart attack, but it was the after effects (serious loss of energy and palpitations) that sent her to the hospital, not the attack itself. She passed it off as gastric reflux and never even mentioned it. On a 1 to 10 scale, she never had discomfort above a 3 or 4... even after surgery!

I"m going to send you an e-mail about a blind horse.  Your dog and cat story reminded me of.  I cleaned off my old e-mails a while back, but couldn't get rid of that one.  I thought it was so touching.

I see at the end you mentionded Doug. I was so wondering how he is.  I am sorry you are have trouble with the foot.  And ,  I got heart pain .  The doctor thought was acid, and when I had one in the office , they determined that it was the way my heart was beating.  Never hurts to check up on it.  They determined that no actual damage was done to my heart. Meds to slow it down was given.  I had seen the story about the dog.  It was sent to me via e-mail.  I never will understand how some people treat animals. Take Care .
