| I'm back: ONE DAY ONLY!Congratulations to the Yellow Jackets for reaching the 2008 NAIA Division II Sweet Sixteen!
And a huge congratulations to the Lady Jackets for winning the 2008 NCCAA Division I Women's Basketball Championship!
Thanks to those of you who have said how much you enjoyed and miss the blog...I do miss writing here!
If you enjoyed last year's NCAA tournament live-blog...or just want to see 12 hours of March Madness CBS coverage through my eyes, I'm back tomorrow for one day only! It's the first day of the NCAA basketball tournament, and I'll be watching all the Thursday games on DirecTV.
Search the Internet for "Mega March Madness Marathon" to find my series of articles; I'll have hourly updates posted at BleacherReport.com.
Thanks for reading!

| THE END OF AN ERAApril 18, 2007: This will be the final post on www.BacktheJackets.com. Thank you to each of you who have visited and read for part or all of the last 15 months or so. I enjoyed bringing you a fan's perspective on Cedarville basketball. I have always loved watching, writing about, and talking about sports...and that won't ever change. However, my spare time will now be devoted to a different level of basketball. My wife has been named a high school basketball coach, and my sports time and energy will be focused on that program in the future. A few final thoughts to Cedarville fans everywhere, based on my experience from freshman year (2000) to now: 1. We have the best players and coaching staff a school could ask for. They're worth supporting and encouraging. Thanks especially to Coach Martin and Slagle for putting up with my endless questions...and guys, you'll never have to say "don't you dare write that on your blog" from now on! 2. There's more to life than basketball. I've been proud to be a Cedarville fan after big wins...and big losses. 3. Be louder at home games! The noise factor IS a factor...consistently overwhelm the visitors with sound! Momentum is huge. 4. I'll always be a Cedarville basketball fan. Just because I won't have the free time in my schedule to be at as many games (and therefore don't have enough knowledge to keep up with the blogging), I'm looking forward to many more seasons of exciting Jacket basketball. I'll be following a little more at a distance...but just like you, I will continue to... Back the Jackets! Tim Cary Class of 2004 Springfield, Ohio | | |
| Hilarious video clipSo it's possible this video has been around for a while and I'm the very last person to see it...but I'm going to put the link up anyway. "Anything you can do, I can do better..." Slagle vs. Martin | | |
| Not going to Disney World...I highly encourage each of you to read this article about Brittany Smart in the Springfield News-Sun yesterday...great to see the media recognize there's more to Cedarville basketball than just basketball. Back the Jackets! | | |
| Off-topic: NCAA live bloggingMarch Madness starts today...and for the first time ever, I should be able to see each and every game! (Thank you, DirecTV!) If you live in the greater Springfield area and desperately want to see your favorite team play, let me know at Tim@backthejackets.com and maybe we can work something out. For the rest of you, if you're interested in keeping up with the tournament, I will be live blogging periodically throughout the next few days. Since it doesn't really have anything to do with Cedarville basketball, I set up a different site...you can find it here. BTJ's take on March Madness Enjoy! | | |
