Okay, now that my Keanu Reeves moment has passed and you all know I'm listening to the new and quite awesome Coldplay album, we can get on with this entry...
So according to the good ol' peeps at Xanga, it's been over nine hundred days since I started. So that means, what, like 9 entries? Okay, so I'm anti-exxagerating. But anyway, I thought thats cool. It's been a while.
Now, picking up where we last left off - for those of you who are incredibly slow (and that seems to be a large group), the irony in the last entry is this...If you have the need to learn English, how are you going to be able to contact a company who's sign says LEARN ENGLISH in ENGLISH??? And you may all have your moment of "ohhhhhhh". Yes, there it is kids.
Carrying on. Wednesday, we had this little tiny event that I like to call PROM! Working up to prom was a great deal of hassle - one that I began to believe was not so worth it. That notion changed in precisely one instant - When I saw Jenna (my Girlfriend - for those of you who, as Vickie would put it, "live in a bubble") standing there in her prom dress. I was, to say the least, mesmerized. She looked absolutely exquisite. No doubt about it, my girl was the most beautiful lady in the entire room. She made it all worth it. And I'll be honest with you all - at the start of the year when there was talk of not having prom, I wasnt bothered. I could have easily seen myself spending hundreds on something that I figured would have been much more enjoyable. But you know what, I had no idea that my life would go the way it has. I had no idea that I'd be in love with a wonderful girl from Queens. And what they say is true - even if you dont dance, if you're not all that thrilled about school, go to prom. It's a once in a lifetime event and its something you wont forget.
The after-events where nice. The Jew crew on wheels rolled it on over to Pier 40 and took the "Sunrise" cruise (on which you never see the sun) out to the Statue of Liberty and back. Nobody moved far from their chairs on the front deck for about 3 straight hours. Broing as that may sound, I dont think I could have found a better way to go. It was completely mellow and just what I'd say we all needed. Seeing as how everyone was tired going into prom, just sitting around a small table talking and joking in the cool Hudson breeze was really nice and relaxing.
Walking in at twenty to six was pretty cool. I dont know why, but I like coming in just as the sun is coming up. Working your day in what feels like reverse is peculiar but cool. Jenna slept over that morning and for the next two nights and we had a spectacular time. It isnt often that I get to be with her for so long, and I truly enjoyed it. No school, no work (except for that bull report for Java at 2am sunday - but that dont count, well, maybe to 3...), no cares in the world but seeing her. And speaking of seeing, she introduced me to a couple of movies. First there was
which was pretty funny. A lot of good cameos in it and one of the funniest opening credits I've ever seen. Watching the kid who was supposed to be a younger version of DJ Qualls do a dance and song to Jame's Brown's "I Got Soul...And I'm Super Bad" (at least I'm guessing thats the title) in golden boxers and a giant 'fro was hillarious. And when he tried to end it off with what turned out to be an unsuccessful one of these and yell "I HURT MASELF!" I died laughing, and at the same time could feel his pain.
Then came...
Which was another funny flic. I'd heard of it and remembered about a little of it. But I had never seen it. And to Jenna, my love, "I NEED MY CHEESE!"
So we spent the days together and had a great time. We picked up some frequent flyer miles at my restaurant - even though I wasnt working - and we went and partied at Laryssa's house. Happy Birthday LARYSSA!
Then on sunday, I went with my pal Ilan and the crew up to Rye Town and had brunch with he and his family and friends at the Hilton. Awesome food and way too much of it - though apparently not enough for Jason Singer. That kid is an animal! So Brunch was awesome, and then Ilan took Steve and I down to Queens to drop us off at Jenna's dance recital which, for the record and everything else (cause she didnt believe me) was GREAT! I was very impressed with the whole thing - especially Jenna's performance!
After that, it was the long ride back to Brooklyn and a 5 page bull report on Instant Messaging for Java class. Leave it to the Israelis to come up with something so nifty. Good stuff that ICQ.
Anyhoo...these days I'm reading "Catcher In The Rye" again and i'm finding that I remember a lot of the details. It's been a while since I read it in sophomore year and it really meant a lot to me then. Now, it's nice to recap on the old story. Perhaps I'll relive a little more and go through "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" again. We shall see.
Jenny would like some recognition in my Xanga entry, so here it is...HI JENNY! This is something that comes up when you search for Images using your name Jenny... ...and luckily for us all, thats not you!
TO BE CONTINUED...I THINK...
Yes, I was right! It is continued! However, now it's tomorrow...and you know what else it is??? Thats right! FLAG DAY!

Okay, so thats not quite as exciting as it may seem. But I do want to say a little about it. First off, it's not world flag day. People need to get that through their thick skulls. Cause honestly, every flag day, I see too much of all of this... ...and little to none of this... . Now dont get me wrong, I'm just as much for national pride and heritage and all that good stuff, but thats what flag day in all the other nations of the world is for (if they have them). This just happens to be AMERICAN flag day, and the only flags I've seen shown off in school today are the ones that were there yesterday and the days before. So get with it people!
Moving right along...as it is another day, there happens to be a musical update. Today's spinning CD (sorry I'm not high tech enough to have an iPod) is Every Breath You Take: The Classics by The Police. Awesome beats and a little of the white man's reggae. Not to mention, a favorite of Jenna's!
So I was in the city yesterday with my beautiful girlfriend and we're walking around Times Square. Sitting in the middle of the square is a new Dodge Charger in pieces made to look like a life-size model kit. Awesome stuff, and a cool car! Not to mention that there was an awesome remix of some AC/DC blasting!
It strikes me that very rarely do I mention my favorite comic strip - Calvin and Hobbes. So at this time, i think it deserves some show...

Furthermore, ending off this entry is the most important thing of the day! And that very thing is that tonight, at 11:59pm, I will be sitting in the United Artist Sheepshead Bay Movie Theater patiently waiting for the coming attractions (or as they're now called - The 20) to pass so that I may live a complete life by seeing this!...

History if I've ever seen it. Nuff Said. |
