Marriage, Georgia and other fun stuff

Sho my brother finally got married! And now he's off doing... well nevermind that. Thank goodness it's over though. There are few things worse than wearing a tux in 104 with like 100% humidity. It was pretty fun though; eating, drinking, ice cream and chocolate!

Well, I haven't updated in a while, guess now is as good a time as any. So I lost my job at Home Depot, which you might think as a bad thing. Well, I'd have to say it's a little of both. Bad side: I don't have another job yet. Good side: I don't work at Home Depot. Think of any office/corparate movies you've seen before, that's Home Depot. I won't go into too much detail. Let's just say that it's cheaper for them to fire you and hire new people than it is to give you the required pay raise of a lousy 50 cents after 3 months. Ah well, I think it's for the better.

Brooke (if you didn't know her name) is still really awesome. I've gotta leave in like a couple hours to go back to Colorado Springs, where I'm gonna go to a 4th of July party at her house. And then we're gonna watch Pirates on the 7th, which is gonna rock!

In past news: I've entered two fights now, both of them were MMA matches, which are pretty much the same as the UFC rules, but knees to the face aren't allowed. I tied the first one and lost the second. I'm entering another one on August fifth at Fort Carson, Colorado (come and watch it if you're near Fort Carson or in town!). The only difference this time is that it's gonna be a Muai Thai match instead of MMA, which means it's pretty much all striking (knees, elbows, kicks and punches and such). I'm teaching martial arts on wednesdays and fridays. And I'm starting to realize how bad kids can really be.

Other than that there's not to much to report.

I don't know how accurate these are...

You are a Believer

You believe in God and your chosen religion.

You're a Christian

Your convictions are strong and unwavering.

You think your religion is the one true way, for everyone.

Well that's not exactly true. My religion isn't the only way. It's just the best way .

You Are Animal

A complete lunatic, you're operating on 100% animal instincts.

You thrive on uncontrolled energy, and you're downright scary.

But you sure can beat a good drum.

"Kill! Kill!"

You Are an Iced Coffee

At your best, you are: hyper, modern, and athletic

At your worst, you are: cheap and angsty

You drink coffee when: you're out with friends

Your caffeine addiction level: medium

Your Famous Last Words Will Be:

"So, you're a cannibal."

You Are Cranberry Red

Peaceful and philosophical, you are almost always at harmony with the world.

You're not very social, but you always enjoy a deep, complex conversation with a friend.

It's possible that you've been disappointed a lot in your life, but you've gotten over those disappointments quickly.

For you, each day is new and glorious. You wake up refreshed and happy, even when things aren't going your way.

You Are Midnight

You are more than a little eccentric, and you're apt to keep very unusual habits.

Whether you're a nightowl, living in a commune, or taking a vow of silence - you like to experiment with your lifestyle.

Expressing your individuality is important to you, and you often lie awake in bed thinking about the world and your place in it.

You enjoy staying home, but that doesn't mean you're a hermit. You also appreciate quality time with family and close friends.

In need of sleep

Well I was doing my homework for psychology, which ironically is about stress. And as you can imagine it's stressing me out. Lol, it's kinda weird that just reading about it is making me stressed. Sho after doing a bunch of homework I decided to come back on here and get listen to some music and hopefully not be as stressed, so I can finish my homework.

School is tomorrow (blech) oh well. I'm really getting sick of it. I can think of so many things to do besides school right now... I'd much rather go hike up a mountain or something... I honestly don't think humans were designed to sit through class for seven (or five in my case, heh heh) hours a day. You know I'm really starting to see a trend. People (not all though) who spend their time trying to make a bunch of money or study like a mad man seem to be less happy, lol. But really, look at it; we go off and in the pursuit of happiness we end up making ourselves unhappy (ironic huh?). Spending enormous amounts of time to (supposedly) make myself happy later in life is really looking unappealing.

But, I think I have found a solution to this paradox (hah hah!). I've found that when I'm doing what I believe God wants me to do, I'm still happy. Even though I may be working my butt off I'm still pretty dang happy. But when I go after what I want (or what I'm fooled into thinking I want) things suddenly suck! And yet we still wonder why we're unhappy... Well you know what... screw it... I'm through doing what I THINK I want, lol... hah hah, things are really cool to talk about when you're really tired, and you've had a pot of coffee (muah hah hah!).

So back to the subject of school... there's another paradox... If I just say "screw it" and quit school (there's no way I would either, lol, not with only like 2 months left) there are a number of things that could happen. Being most important is that my mom would kill me. People tend to look down on someone with no high school edumacation . And you kind of need a high school education to get into college.

So the question remains: "why stay in high school?" pretty good question if you ask me. Why should I? If I do it for my own reasons I go back to what I said before "there are much better things to do besides school..." Or I do it to SUPPOSEDLY make me happier later in life. Which again, ARE MY OWN REASONS. so that can't really work... So what I've started doing is do it for totally different reasons. I'll finish high school for a number of different reasons. To be there for the people I know there. To jump through the hoops that college puts in front of me. And to be a witness to the people around me (this one being the hardest. but hey, life's no fun without a challenge ). These are just a few of the reasons I've come up with.

And you may ask: "well who says that happiness can't come from the pursuit of my own reasons? Why can't the pursuit of money make me happier?" I'm not saying that education is a bad thing at all. But! What we have to be careful of is why we are doing it. If we do it for our own reasons we don't feel fulfilled. Want proof? look around you.. People sitting at their desks, or selling houses, or whatever it may be. They're probably making LOADS of money. But what do they do with it? Go buy stuff? A new boat or car maybe? Wow, what a purpose... "oh yay I got myself something... again..." Yeah you got yourself something, something that's gonna fade away and you'll eventually get bored of. What happens is we supply ourselves with something to satisfy our desires for the time being. We give ourselves something of very little purpose. To get MYSELF something to make me happy... To get MYSELF more money... there's only so much satisfaction we can gain from ourselves.

But what about other people? There is almost a limitless supply of other people in the world to gain satisfaction from. And better yet still there's God. Who isn't ALMOST, but IS a limitless supply.

So in conclusion: To satisfy the limitless lust and desire of our Hearts we have to find a limitless supply. God. Lol, it sounds so easy, but it's soooooooo easy to get sidetracked. What proof that our hearts are limitless? Why not start at the beginning of human kind and the beginning of sin. When Adam and Eve ate the fruity apple thingymabob did it satisfy their hearts desire? Heck no! It made it worse! When they strayed away from God and went after knowledge and the pursuit of their own desires it caused the very downfall of mankind. Our on desires: the knowledge of good and evil. The knowledge of the world. Which going back to what I was saying before ties in to what I was originally talking about.

hah hah, well that was fun. Hope you enjoyed it. I'm really tired now and it's getting even harder to explain soooooo many things in my mind... I swear... Caffeine and lack of sleep are the key elements of true enlightenment, lol .

Anyway, I guess I'll just talk about some other random stuff. I'm gonna go to Prom on Saturday. Which is gonna totally rock. Not Prom itself but mostly because of who I'm going with . But before that I"m gonna enter a fight on friday, hopefully this time my fighter wont skip out on me. It'll be great if I show up to Prom with a black eye or something, lol. I would talk more about Prom and stuff (and about who I'm going with ). But I refuse to be like everyone else who has a significant other. All they do is rant and rave about how great they are and stuff (which in all probability is very very true). Why need to rant and rave? Just be happy for heavens sake. It's almost like they need confirmation from other people that their significant other is as awesome as they think they are. Either that or it's infatuation, not true "love". "Love is not proud." "It does not boast." If you need to say something about it save it for them. They deserve (and are probably the only ones who will enjoy hearing about it) it more than the poor other people who have to hear about it, lol. So yeah, that's all I have to say on the subject.

I haven't gone skiing in a while. Which stinks... I'll hopefully end up going sometime soon.

Anyway, It's way past my bedtime. And my homework is calling.

Peace, Love and Caffeine.

-Mark
