    It's been a long day...

Here is a sliver of my crazy day... Turns out our condo's landscapers covered the drain to the indoor part of our AC unit with mud and mulch, so I walked into my laundry room and there was about an inch of water standing in one part of it. Thankfully my father in law came right over (because Jake was/ still is at work) told me to change the filter, and then went out side and discovered the rest of the problem and unclogged it for me. But the whole flooded mess made me 2 hours late on getting out the door to go to the house up by Princeton that we are house sitting at. Thankfully I am now up at the house and I replaced the filter etc, and also turned off the air just incase... Needless to say I do owe my father in law a plate of cookies or brownies or something! (and just remember that's just a sliver of my day)

  • No, mom it was really dead!!!!!

So I was hanging out at my in law's house yesterday afternoon, when Jake called me and asked me to bring him some food and coffee. So I asked my sister's in law if they wanted to come with me and Liz said she did. So we went to Starbucks and got some coffee and food, and took it to Jake.... And then the laughs started....(for those of you who don't know Liz is random)....

On the way home I asked her if she wanted to call Mom (because Mom is in rehab for her double hip replacement)...and So while I was driving she called Mom. Well Liz was talking to Mom when all of a sudden Liz goes " so Mom did you know there is a dead cat in the road by the house?! Yeah it's dead....it got hit by a car...No really MOM! it's dead!!!" at this moment I just broke out laughing hysterically because that statement was sooooo random and gross.... Then Liz goes "hang on Mom!...'Beth Donaldson IT'S NOT FUNNY THAT CAT WAS DEAD!!!!!!...ok Mom where was I?! oh yeah so anyways it was dead..." and then Liz jumped to another random subject and the whole dead cat issue was over, and that was that.

    Update....

Well Jake's eye is a lot better, although it's a lovely shade of purply-pink, I'm thinking of trying to figure out how to get that color into an eyeshadow...I know most of the time you wouldn't want bruised looking eyes, but his doesn't necessarily look bruised, it looks like he's got purple eye shadow on...

We (Jake, Jeremy, and I) transported Mom D from her hospital in Philly to her rehab facility in Marlton, NJ, today, we had a good time and everything went really smoothly, we even stopped at Starbucks and got mom a decaf vanilla latte  :) Only for her would we stop in the ambulance with a pt in it!

I'm still taking Anatomy and Physiology II lecture and lab classes, both of them are going well and I have a lab practical Tuesday. I think it will go ok, but I am over stressing myself out about it. I'm still looking for a job, and really need to decide what places I want to apply at and get started at it... I've looked at some jobs at local hospitals but Jake keeps narrowing down the options I have in that area by telling me which hospital I should and shouldn't work at. I'm also looking at receptionist jobs at places like Dr.'s offices to even hair salons, and I maybe able to get a job at a fabric store here in town. I haven't really looked to see if any local dance shops are hiring, but I'm trying to stretch myself and hopefully get a job closer to something in the medical feild (not that working in a hair salon or a fabric store would be closer), but it would not be the end of the world if I ended up back at a dance shop.

    Lovely day in the neighborhood....

Well my mother in law had her double hip replacement surgery yesterday, she is doing well, and may even get to go to rehab earlier than expected. I must say that it is interesting having people call you up not to talk to you but to ask how she is doing... Well yesterday Jake and Jeremy were playing softball with the church softball team...It was the 8th inning and Jake was playing catcher and first he caught a pitch in his groin and then THEN.... The player was rounding third and and so the pitcher caught the throw from the outfield and threw it to home so they could get the player rounding 3rd out. Well right as the player ran into homeplate, the pitcher threw the ball in and Jake caught the ball, got knocked into by the other player, and had the ball hit his glove smacked into his glasses and they cut into his eye lid... He bled everywhere and ended up getting stitches.

    Here's a picture...

And here's once it's all stitched up...

Oh yeah I forgot to mention that the pitcher that threw him the ball, was our family practice doctor so we went right over to his office and stitched it up :P
