This past week has gone really well! School started Monday and I love all my classes (and I only have a final in 1!) I am going to have a lot of projects this semester, and a lot of group work but I think they should be alright. Monday was also the first 20 Spot, which went really well. I think it's going to be a good semester/year for the group, people are already seemingly more excited about things which is great. Last night was supposed to be CCF on the Lawn, but it started thundering and lightning and raining a little bit so we have to move inside and just did bible study in the Cafe set-up. Not the plan, but it worked out. There were a lot of people there, a lot of new people too which is awesome. Once we finally sat down after passing out Cafe stuff, we could all stop sweating so much and then Zesto's afterwards didn't hurt either! So it was a really fun, good night. Today I can actually make it to off campus lunch since I have no Friday class! The kick-off party is tonight at Stone Mountain but I don't think I'm going. I actually have school work to start (sad, but true) and I'm babysitting tomorrow night and then church Sunday evening so I'm a little busy this weekend. It may rain tonight anyway. But hopefully not for those who are going. So it was a good week, flew by, but this whole year may seem to do that!

Well, yesterday was my last day at work which means classes start on Monday. I can't even believe it! Thursday night we went to trivia at the Raging Burrito which was fun, and last night was Kerry, Jill, Shannon, and Meagan's apartment warming party which was soo much fun! It was good to finally see everyone again and even though I don't want school to start back just yet, getting back together with everyone after summer will be exciting. And things at CCF should be great, The 20 Spot is the new upperclassmen leadership group which sounds like it's going to be really good so I'm looking forward to that.

Tonight, Marcy and I have the babysitting job for all the neighborhood kids in her dad's neighborhood, though she said her dad said it may just be a few of the kids now. We may end up being there so late that we just spend the night there and come home in the morning but who knows. And then tomorrow's church and then...school on Monday! I've got my first class with the professor I worked with this summer, then the next one with my program director and I love both of them so it should be a good day. I like all my professors really which makes it nice since I have them for both years of the program and potentially in the Masters program.

I still haven't found another job on campus but I'm not too worried about it now. I'm going to apply to two more offices in a minute, but my parents said it was ok if I didn't find anything since they never asked me to work during the year anyway. And I have applied to several offices, so I've tried, but they all want work study students because they're basically free. So, that sucks but I'm not sure how busy this year will be anyways, so I figure things will work out how they're supposed to and maybe that's me not working...we shall see.

  • This past week was a really great one for me. I worked by myself all week at the front desk and read through 4 novels I think it was. Everything went well, and this week is my last week in the office. I haven't found another job yet, but a new position just opened in Project Healthy Grandparents and I may be able to take it. If not, I may apply to work at the Rec Center or decide not to work this fall, so we'll see what happens. I spent last weekend at the lake which was amazing. Just lounging in the water all day and doing some hardcore tubing was great before having to work all day everyday last week. I also got a roommate Monday and everything's working out well with that. This past weekend was a good one too. I spent Saturday at Atlantic Station shopping with some gift cards from Christmas (I'm so bad about using them, but then I use them all at once and it's almost more fun that way!)..so I got a lot of soap and lip gloss from B&BW, some delicious smelling body spray and some other things from Victoria's Secret, a couple of shirts from Old Navy, and a couple of shirts from Express. It was nice to get out of the apartment and walk around and do something, usually I end up being a homebody on the weekends and never getting out of pajamas, but I was determined not to let that be this case! Sunday I went to Walmart for some things and I saw a t-shirt I had to get; it has Chip and Dale on it and seeing as how they're my favorites and it was like $6, I had to get it. Then I went to church and dinner, all of which was great. I'm looking forward to this week too. I'm working everyday but Wednesday, but Friday will be my last day. Tomorrow is 7:22 which will be super, and I'm babysitting with Marcy Saturday night for a bunch of little kiddies that were at the lake last weekend so that should be interesting, but fun. And then next week school starts back which I can't believe. But, it's SeNiOr year so that's enough to make me excited!

  • "It takes a lot of courage to release the familiar and seemingly secure, to embrace the new. But there is no real security in what is no longer meaningful. There is more security in the adventurous and exciting, for in movement there is life, and in change there is power."

"It doesn't work to leap a twenty-foot chasm in two ten-foot jumps."

"There came a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom."

"The truth is that our finest moments are most likely to occur when we are feeling deeply uncomfortable, unhappy, or unfulfilled. For it is only in such moments, propelled by our discomfort, that we are likely to step out of our ruts and start searching for different ways or truer answers."

"Be not angry that you cannot make others as you wish them to be, since you cannot make yourself as you wish to be."
