hey, so undercover brother just came on tv. i've been listening to a lot of johnny cash lately. within the last two minutes i've been watching a lot of undercover brother. i wish i was more ethnic. i doubt that the way towards ethnic awareness or integration is through johnny cash--especially since he makes me feel like a flaming racist whenever i listen to him. v-time. oh, and lindsay is wonderful

i had been getting frequent headaches. they made my brain pulsate. to be simple, they hurt a lot. i got the problem checked out. the doctor (lazaroff--a popular pediatrician; he has been the doctor of me, clarke, bornhop, bernstein, tony gifford, lindsay wehmer, and merle singer's daughters) said that it was probably nothing. but to make sure, the next day i got a ct scan with contrast. they injected some solution into me so that if there was something wrong it would show up in the scan. the next day esse health called and told me that i was fine. "your brain is perfect," she said. just like her face!

the pickleball tournament was dominated by levy and his partner, an arbitrary tennis player. levy was helped along with the knowledge that all money raised will be donated to wash u and not darfur and camp rainbow. (are the latter two even our charities? vice-presidency has many responsibilities.)

yesterday i went to the loop with brett. i bought a simon and garfunkel cd (bridge over troubled water) and junky by william s. burroughs. i coerced brett into buying a cd. a good time was had by all parties.

i love lindsay keller.

today i got a haircut. i read a chapter for ap psych on social psychology. i have to read another later. interesting stuff. after the haircut i went to the book fair at west county mall. i had to drive around to find it, but after what i just experienced it was worthy of the innumerable hours of arduous searching.

i bought these:
the great short stories of de maupassant, babbitt, women in love, the autumn of the patriarch, of human bondage, blue highways: a journey into america, the magic mountain, paradise lost, paradise regained, gilgamesh: a verse narrative, the return of the native, the violent bear it away, everything that rises must converge, wise blood, a hero of our time, the red badge of courage, the bacchae and other plays, the golden ass, humboldt's gift, the balad of the sad cafe and other stories, invisible man, going after cacciato, the reivers (i accidentally bought two of this one; if you want a copy let me know), absalom, absalom!, howards end, great short works of leo tolstoy, sister carrie, the divine comedy vol. ii: purgatory, selected poetry of w.h. auden, the major plays of anton chekhov, sons and lovers, bullet park, and six plays of stringberg.

"wow, danny, that must have cost you a small fortune."
"well, if by small fortune you mean $15.50 then you are quite correct. bitch."

this is my longest entry in some time. jon bogard, ozzie smith, candice moran.

i love lindsay keller.

today i watched jeopardy with my dad. one of the categories was "april fools' day babies," where each response was someone who was born on april fools' day. the only person i can remember was otto von bismarck. it should  have also included aaron o'neal, david schack, and me.

this spring break was slow but good. hung out with brett a lot, went to the art museum and the loop with rach, and talked to lindsay a lot on the phone. she got back last night. tonight we're going to dinner. i finished don quixote and frankenstein.

tomorrow i turn 18.

i still write. i don't post it on xanga.
