Quick, Fast and in a Hurry

Wow. So it's been even longer than I thought since the last time I posted. Here's a timeline update... meant to be efficient, expedient and give me just enough time to start doing some "real" work.

May 9, 2008, I got my B.S. (haha... it's really more appropriate than initially obvious) in Human and Organizational Development. That is... I graduated from college (and the further away I get from that date, the more I realize that the last 4 years FLEW by).

May 23 - 25: My family comes to celebrate my graduation as well as Memorial Day. It's ALWAYS good to be with the family. I can't wait for the reunion at the beginning of August.

May 29: I leave home and drive 10 hrs to Washington, DC. It really wasn't a bad drive at all. It was nice to have that time to myself to think and think HARD about what I was about to do.

Jun 2: I start my new job on Capitol Hill. So far, BUSY and hectic and crazy... but that's pretty much how I like life to go. :)

Jul 11 - 12: One of my close friends turned 21 and I went to NYC to celebrate... see pictures

So those are the major highlights. I have been keeping up with xanga, just not my own! Life is really keeping me busy, but I'd hate it if it were any different.

I've been asked to move to Nashville (back to where I was just a few months ago) for two months to work on my boss's campaign. I'll be back for homecoming and I'm SO EXCITED!!! Initially I wasn't going to homecoming, but that's because I didn't think I'd have the money.

Having said all those things, post-collegiate life for me hasn't been a walk in the park and there have been some difficult and frustrating times (already!) but so far I think I've made good decisions.

Ok! Back to work! Hope everyone is doing wonderfully. :)

...The Little Things...

After being gone from campus last semester, I'm spending a lot of time with my friends. We're catching up and preparing to no longer be near each other in less than 3 months. That prospect is scary.

Anyway, a few days ago, I was bringing something to a friend of mine (she's actually a Junior and not graduating this May) and when she came to get it from me she introduced me to a freshman who graduated from her high school. We all ended up back in her room where I was being usually difficult (we have a special relationship, she and I) and ignoring her by listening to my iPod instead of participating in the conversation.

I happen to be changing songs when I heard her say my name so I, (yes, I was being sneaky) put my iPod on pause to hear what she was saying. I guess the other girl asked her how she knew me and she offered the following explanation:

"I met Ashley through Joey. She's such a sweetheart. I don't know what I would have done without her. She's alwys there for me and takes care of me. She's like the big sister I never had."

Of course I got all choked up and had to admit I had been eavesdropping, but I'm glad I did. It really made my dady (heck, it's made my last few days). Which in turn reminded me to say the good things that I feel about my friends as often as possible. We all joke with each other a lot, but I want to keep in mind that these people are amazing, I'm so glad I know them and that I should let them know how I feel about them.

I really had no idea she felt that way about me. In fact, I definitely had begun feeling a little underappreciated (because I really do take care of her sometimes) so it felt so good to know that she did notice, does care and does appreciate me...

Could You Use It

This is a public restroom in Reedsport, OR.

So now you've seen the outside... take a look at the inside...

This is made entirely of one-way glass, but from the inside you can see EVERYTHING and it feels like you're sitting (or standing) in a clear box. Could you use it?
