| Wow....I need to update. Whit & I have been working at Ghost Town soooo much, there just isn't enough time!!!! AAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!! Update coming soon....I hope! | | |
| Howdy y’all! You know how in that last update I promised to update in a week? Ya, well I lied. Sooo… things have been really crazy, as is the Miller tradition. We are up here in Maggie Valley, North Carolina; my favorite place on earth. The Lord has recently opened up new opportunities, as He always is; there’s an old amusement park on top of Buck Mountain, here in the valley that was shut down, but someone bought it & reopened it this year. It’s 4600 feet in the air & you have to ride a ski lift to get to the top. It’s called Ghost Town, it’s a western themed amusement park with a really cool full-set western town; they have gunfights every hour, bluegrass shows, & saloon shows. Visit www.Ghosttowninthesky.com Well, one day when I was walking the dogs with daddy, I had a crazy idea…Whitney & I could audition for an entertainment spot! Well, to tell the truth, I really didn’t know what I was getting into, but God had a plan & He knew what He wanted for us. We went in hoping just to get a fair trial. Long story short, I called the entertainment manager, J.B., left our resume & a pic of us. We get a call back, I set up the audition & ….it was soooo nerve wrecking! We went dressed up full-fledged prairie style. The gunfighters absolutely loved us! Some called us Mary & Laura Ingalls from Little House on the Prairie. They loved how realistic we looked, from the dresses to the shoes. There are no other girls there dressed like us, so while we walked through the town just to go audition, people were asking to take pics with us. We did the audition for a crowd & they hired us on the spot. Just a little tidbit, all the auditioning & tryouts were done 2 months prior to opening day & we auditioned a week after opening day, so there technically weren‘t any openings. Anywho, our job is to stroll around playing music (fiddle & guitar)in our prairie dresses, we greet the people when they come off the ski lift, then we go into the restaurants playing while the people eat, & then walk around town. Just recently they made a movie on Ghost Town, it’s a really cool western movie. Some of the gunfighters were in it & it was all filmed at Ghost Town. It hasn’t been released nation wide yet, but I think MGM is gonna buy it & release it in the fall. The commercial is on you tube.com, but here is the official website www.ghosttownthemovie.net . The gunfighters are the coolest, they’re dressed so realistic. In all there’s probably about 8-10 gunfighter, but they switch around. One of the guys who jumps off the roof when he gets shot, was Indiana Jones at MGM studios in FL for 10 years! One of the others was in 2 movies, another was in the Last of the Mohicans. One of our best friends though, is Digger, he’s the undertaker & he’s in all the gunfights; he’s so nice. They’re all very protective of us…each in their own way…one sees us as his daughters, another as granddaughters, …um ….one sees me as his…er….uh….wife…lol. LONG STORY!!! The other day Deputy Depp (he’s the deputy & he looks like Johnny Depp), who’s an actor asked me to film the gunfights -which, by the way, the guns they use are NOT cap guns but real guns- he gave me this HUGE professional movie camera that weighed 30 lbs! it was SO amazing! Such high quality & amazing options! Oh! I envy him! Lol. He’s making a commercial for Ghost Town & so he’ll probably use some of what I filmed. Each gunfighter has his own story & personality; they‘re an odd bunch. SO many stories, we come home every day with a million stories, but I won’t bore you; if you really want to know, ask & I’ll tell. Our biggest concern is their salvation, they can see that we’re different but we really want them to see that it’s Christ in us. Please pray for us & them. Well, to conclude this update, here are some pics! There’s a whole lot more where they came from but I won’t post them all. Thanks for bearing through with me & my rambling! Y’all come back now, ya hear?!

| O my! I shan’t know where to start, let’s see here…Whitney & Jesse left for Uruguay Saturday (4/28) on a CWE missions trip (for more 411 go to Jesse’s site www.xanga.com/mutant1 , he’s bound to update all about that). So that left Cici & I all by ourselves….but don’t weep for us, for we were to have a grand ole time! We soon found ourselves making chocolate chip cookies, laying out on an abandoned boat dock that washed up, having many picnics, going to Hudson beach, skootering on the board walk, getting ice cream, swimming, exercising, watching beautiful sunsets, & all in all, having a grand ole time! We were running around unchecked, unchaperoned, unbound, & FREE! The taste of freedom we experienced was like no other. Cici achieved quite a nice tan, while I preferred to keep my snow white skin untainted. For a better idea on how our week was I will supply you with pictures, as usual.

we are still waiting to be rescued, but we fortunately have use of a computer... ;)
Because of lack of updating consistently, next week I (Lord-willing) will update on other things that have come to pass, but have not made it into the updates… Now comment like good little xangonians & i will update sooner! | | |
| Ahoy mates! This past Wednesday brought fair tidings on the eastern winds of an event to take place in our very own abode. This event was known amongst us as Chelsea’s Birthday. So what better way to celebrate her spicy 17th birthday than to go treasure hunting! We feared nothing for our fearless captain & faithful ship were sure to bring us a great voyage with nothing on our minds but to pillage & plunder! Ok, so in so many words, my birthday this year was a Pirates of the Carribbean(POTC) theme. Five of us (Hayley, Whitney, Jesse, Cici, & I) dressed up as pirates & went treasure hunting…at thrift stores. Each of us were given $10, & whoever could get the most “bang for their buck” would win the extra $10. We went to all the thrift stores in the area in our van which was playing POTC music, at the first place the lady blocked the door & wouldn’t let us in. She tried to negotiate with us to raid 7-eleven instead but when she found out it was my birthday she admitted us into her humble abode. She commented on Hayley’s hook, which Hayley replied that it was quite “handy.” The lady gave me a stuffed bunny for my birthday & we gave her a track saying “let this be your treasure map!” Well, we definitely received a few stares but it was a blast. We made horrible little jokes like Jesse’s “I didn’t see that” (he had an eye patch). When asked if we were from the Chasco Fiesta, Whitney replied “we be from the Carribean.” We were but humble pirates. We gave out a few empty bottles with tracks in it (get it? message in a bottle?) I got the vinyl record to “Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid”-great movie! So at the end we took a secret ballot as to who did the best. Ironically, we all voted for each other. I voted for Hayley who voted for Jesse who voted for me. And Cici & Whitney voted for each other. So the extra $10 was split amongst 5 of us, $2 each. Lol. It was great. We got pretzels as a snack at the mall & I got starbux as a b-day treat. Mmm-mmm-MMM! Well, most of the family came, Travis & Lani Jayne, Caleb, Angela, & baby Dizzy, plus all the regulars. Lol. Over all, it was a great day. Definitely a birthday to remember. More pics are published to the photoblog... Yes, we actually did go out like this. hunting for treasure...

| O my goodness! Oodles & oodles of stuff has happened! Craziness! WARNING: this will be a long update. Where to start? Ok, so I will back track 2 months ago. It all happened when…. Mom saw an ad in the newspaper for a talent search, she called up, & Whit & I tried out the next day. The finalists of the talent search will perform at the Chasco Fiesta in New Port Richey. For those of you who don’t live around here, that’s a big festival that goes on for 2 weeks here in Florida. We went not expecting to make it but to go so we could get the experience of an audition, something we have never done before. We saw it as a chance to get honest feedback/criticism, not family flattery. And as Bob Dylan put it, “You haven’t done anything unless you’ve been booed.” We went there sooooo unprepared- jeans & a t-shirt, no practice, no real preparation, nothing. We played our bluegrass music- Whit on guitar & I on the fiddle. We left the place with a “try again next year!” One week later…. we get an email saying we made the top 20 out of a few hundred! So then we get invited to play at a showcase luncheon for the Chasco Fiesta sponsors. When we get there we found at that only 6 of the 20 finalists were invited to play at the luncheon. Sean Bray, the talent search director/producer, had picked out his favorites & asked them to perform. So after that we had to go to this consultation thing & a photo shoot because at the Chasco Fiesta we have to hand out autographed pictures of us! I know…kinda retarded. The photoshoot was really fun, the photographer was a really cool british dude. He said we were “photogenic” Hahaha! He also said that you could really see the love between us in the pictures, he took like 150. we’ll attach a few to this update & then some of them we’ll publish to the photoblog. That brings us to….this Sunday is the big day! We will perform at the Chasco Fiesta between 12pm & 3pm, somewhere in between there we also have to sign autographs (o gosh!). But I would really like to turn the thing over to God. We are open about our faith, but I would really like to see people come to Christ through this whole experience. Ok, so….meanwhile, at the park Caleb (an older brother) & dad come up with this wild idea to throw this big party for the entire park- a country jamboree. There will be food, prizes, & entertainment. The food would be catered, if you dress up you don’t have to pay, the best-dressed would be judged & the top 5 contestants get prizes, the winner gets a laptop computer & printer. The entertainment would be all Whitney & I, the entire program-our’s, 2 hours. Since this party is being thrown by the owners of the park, the family (us) has to do everything. Set up, tear down, running it. In all, it was Hell. But remember, we have 2 parks, that means we had to do it twice. It was literally Hell & Hell: the Sequel. 500 people came to each jamboree. We had to set up that many chairs, with room to sit that many people. Then we had to do decorations, tablecloths, bandannas, dummies, clothes lines, curtains, saddles, lassos, empty rootbeer bottles, wanted posters, the whole shi-bang! We pulled out all the stops. Then Whit & I had to get ready, tune up, & jump in the car where we are taken to our horse & carriage. We get in & ride through the park till we get to where the party is, jump down while dad is announcing our name, run on stage, & strike up a tune! It went really good. I’m afraid that since I was on stage we didn’t get any good pictures, but oh well. While all this craziness is going on, I am still trying to manage a good grade, take violin lessons, teach violin lessons, take piano & voice lessons, perform in my orchestra, & work for my dad. For those of you who were wondering why I’m not in Jesus: Behold the Man, now you know. Then today I got to hang out with my dearest friend, Lauryn. It was a blast. We talked, ate (as always), took pics (check her site out for more pics! www.xanga.com/laurynleanne ), & watched JBTM practice. Ok that’s enough for now. If you made it this far congratulations! Sorry for the long update. Remember the last update I said there would be coming an update soon? Well, I lied. But I will try to update sooner so that it won’t be as long. Now here are some pictures as always. Your black-eye giver, xchelsx photo shoot
