| its been a long time since ive updated this. its also been a long time since ive even seen this page. but i guess this is still my page and i still wanna talk in it. im in a confused state, ive been in a confused state for quite a while now. but i think im realizing what i really need to do. and although i know the kind of sacrifices i will have to make are difficult, i really think it is the best choice. i cant take it anymore, i dont wanna take it anymore.

| hello all again. so far, i think im doing a good job of updating my
site. let's just hope that i keep this up haha. this week has been
kinda stressful with all the things that are going on with my life, but
im starting to feel that things are going to turn around being that its
sunday *week starting over* and also that i took care of a couple of
things perparing for this week. anyway, i am going to be talking about
something that you guys probably dont care about...but its important to
me so therefore...i am going to talk about it.
this school year, the teacher's labor contract for all CSU's campuses
aka
California State Universitiy, has ended. im not sure if the contract
applies to all teachers in california, but i know for sure that the
CSU's are taking action. teachers are asking for a raise from their
already poor salaries and to provide more sections for the students. if
the negotiations go sour, then the professors/lecturers are forced to
go on
strike. before i go more in-depth, let me give you some numbers to
think about. the current president of SF state is making about $271,000
a year and not to mention a house benefit of $60,000 and a car benefit
of about $12,000 a year. professors at SF state is making an average of
less than $50,000 a year. lecturers get paid about an average $3500 per
class section. now tell me something...why are professors/lecturers,
the ones who teach the class and students and interact with them
directly, get paid so much less than the presedent, whom i have NEVER
met since the day i started my college years?!? when i started
college in fall of 2002, my tuition was about $913 a semester. since
then, it has increased to about $1500 *i dont remember the exact
number* a semester, increasing by 73% from 2002. and while the tutition
prices are increasing, class sections are getting cut at the same time!
so again, let me ask you another question. if tutition prices are
rasing and classes and other programs are being cut, where is the money
going?!? i know that paying about $1500 a semester is nothing compared
to UC's or private schools, but it still doesnt justify where the money
is going...i wouldnt be bothered if the tutition prices are raising and
there are more class sections being offered but the reality of it, is
that it isnt. what bothers me a lot is the fact that the president is
already paid so much and yet...he still gets these luxurious benefits.
i mean, why does he need it? he can already afford those things based
on his salary. those bonus money should be given back to the school to
open up more sections for the students. i mean, isnt that what school
is all about? to give back to their students through education?!?
so anyway, the organization called CFA aka California Faculty
Association is helping fight for better salaries for teachers in CSU's
campuses. again, im not sure if they represent teachers in universities
and community colleges, you're gona have to do your own research for
that. ohh and btw, here's another quick and interesting fact. in the
past years, community college professors/lecturers salaries have
increased to the point where they get paid more than CSU's
professors/lecturers. im not saying that CSU professors/lecturers are
better than community teachers but from what i was told, isnt it true
that the tutition for attending a community is around $33 a unit?
hmm...big difference isnt it? so where is the money to afford higher
paid salaries coming from? and why cant that money go to CSU's teachers
and class sections? okay so going back to my topic, the CFA have came
up with a couple of demands, hoping for higher paid salaries, stop
increasing student fees, and to provide more class sections. and if
these demands arent met, then the teachers are forced to go on strike.
there were posters all over campus with a message saying "i dont want
to strike but i will if i have to!" especially in professors/lecturers
office doors. march 21st was the final day of negotiations and the
demands weren't met. about 94% of all professors/lecturers in CSU's
campuses agreed to the strike. so most likely, there will be a two day
rolling strike around mid-april or so.
since the beginning of this dilemma, the CFA and professors/lecturers
have asked students to join their struggle and support the strike. with
the students in support of the strike, the campuses can nearly be shut
down. in SF state's history, teachers and students have a repeatly gone
hand in hand supported each other in various issues of struggle, so its
not such a shock if the students were to support the strike.
there will be a picket line probably on 19th and halloway and they are
encouraging people not to cross it. i find this important because i
believe in teachers getting higher paid salaries because if not, then
they are forced to leave the school and find work elsewhere or work two
jobs. *and yes i do know some teachers actually work two jobs even with
the kind of education experience that they have* and the more teachers
that decide to leave, the more chances of quality teachers leave. if
their salaries were to increase based on increasing student fees, then
i would agree to paying for it. but i think the money should come from
administration. i think the administration should take a cut since they
are already making a significant amount compared to teachers. i know
this is a lot of information and i wish i could have given you more
accurate info from both sides but please feel free to post comments
because i wanna know what you have to say to all of this. and also do
feel free to do your own research and find out more information from
both sides if you are interested so that you can pick either side. ill
probably post another post in the near future with an update on this
matter.

| so ive finally decided to try and update this thing again since its
been so long. i guess there were a couple of reasons as to why i didnt
do anything with this site for so long. one would obviously be because
i was lazy. secondly was because i still felt a little restricted as to
what i wanted to say on here, i felt limited so that i wouldnt say
certain things that would give ppl the "wrong message" *assuming that
ppl actually read my xanga.* and i think thirdly it was because if you
wanted to hear things from me...you would heard it from me in person. i
mean, the usual things that i want to tell...ive already told it to the
ppl that i want to tell and i try to be as open as possible. but i
guess i use to feel that if ppl wanted to know more about me...they
would simply just come up to me and ask. i use to think that that was a
simple expectation from my friends/peers/colleagues, but its not. a
fourth reason is because i got into the world of "friendster" and
"myspace" and i think they took everyone along with them. after those
two sites became very popular, i dont see anyone updating that much
anymore on xanga. friendster and myspace became a huge communication
device for many people to the point that even corporations starting
using them as marketing tactics. all i have to say for that is
Amazing...anyway, my main goal is to hope to try and update this site
more often and see if i get any feedback, but just to let you know, i
may say some things that may or may not affect anyone, but ultimately,
i am not trying to offend anyone. im just simply stating my own
opinions on certain issues/topics. if however you do feel
offended...please refer back to this post *my disclosure haha* ohh and
btw...i do talk a lot...so that'll probably mean i will write a lot =)
soooo...what have i been up to since my last post, which is what? my
21st bday? haha a whole hell of a lot if you know what i mean...ill try
and give you a basic overview and if i talk about my past at another
post then it'll get brought back up with more detail. but basically,
ive been doing my partying of course...cant slow down on that...its
still very entertaining to me. i still work at the same place, but in
the process of changing positions. im still at school trying to
graduate...its like my 5th year in school now but its okay...im
actually not regretting it, im having fun in school right now learning
all of these new things and thought processes in and outside of the
classroom. ive been getting a lot more invovled with my school and the
organizations/classrooms, helping me become self-awareness in real
community issues that needs to be addressed. of course my 22nd bday
past and i got blasted like hell.
I started dating a girl name Michelle, which happened to be one of my
very best friends for years
before we started dating. so you can see how special a person she is to
me...we used to think very alike for a long time, but ever since we
started dating...it hasnt been like that. although she believes that we
are very different in terms of personailty, i like to believe that its
our childhood memories and other experiences in the past that help us
think the way we think. in other words, i still believe that we think
very alike...but i guess we just handle it in different ways. to this
day, i still cannot believe that i even had the chance to start dating
her *due to certain circumstances* its just ironic how things fell into
place like that right girl? anyway, i hope to see you soon when you
come back for spring break. sorry, i know that i made hella paragraphs,
but this one deserves to be a paragraph on its own.
of course
i was still doing the promoting thing for a long while but i finally
left the company in feb or 07'. i just didnt fit with the company
anymore with all of the new ppl and generation. and i also dont agree
with their philosophies anymore. so therefore, i cant really offer much
of my services to the company. but i must admit, i learned a lot of
new/great things, i met some great people, and done some great
partying...and i also had a good run. thats all i can think of on the
top of my head. if i do remember something...ill edit this post.
otherwise...you can always ask me! =P okay...i think thats enough
reading for you guys for now. im afraid that if i get into another
topic...ill write chapers for you guys to read hahaha!
