t's official: Heather J's Listen and Advice shop is officially closed for repairs and renovations.

It has not completely closed, though only a few services are still available:

1. Will listen and advise about:
School, careers, friends, family, and general problems

Unfortunately, the "Boys Advice Center" will not reopen for quite some time. I need some air and rest from hearing about and giving advice about boys. Especially when the advice goes unheeded. If you ask for my opinion, I give it to you. I try to be fair and reasonable. If you don't like it, don't ask.GOD! It gets so fucking frustrating. I may whine and moan about not having a guy, but I get over it fucking fast. You can only visit Self-Pity'sville for so long before going crazy and riding the first train out.

While I do appreciate all the business that has been given over the years, I will have to shut down for repairs in this department due to lack of respect.

I ask that you only seek out my advice if you honestly want it. Please don't bother if you want to just hear yourself talk. Friendships don't work that way.

This is not aimed at anyone in particular, just what's been happening in general for a while.

If you think it's aimed at you, then I'm sorry if you feel that the world revolves around you--it doesn't.

The homework keeps piling up...

So yeah...I think the title says it all. I love my classes (with the exception of Technical Writing--blah!), but each requires so much reading that I fear that my head is going to explode with all of the knowledge that is trying to cram itself in there. Of course, I need to start applying to grad schools as well and that certainly isn't helping with my stress levels. I have to start researching for final papers in 3 of 4 classes and I fear that I won't do well. I know that I can get by, but that's not something I like doing. It's my own damn fault for not sticking with Psychological testing last year, but I really couldn't find the strength within myself to handle it. Some might call it laziness, but I call it self-preservation. I wasn't ready to relinquish my sanity for the sake of Psychological Testing.

Anyways, I'm here in A-town, hoping to actually accomplish something. Riiiiight. It's actually the indirect reason I'm here in A-town. The first being that Bridget's birthday is next thursday and I wanted to spend time with her around that date. Since next weekend wasn't available, I chose this one. So yay! I'm here, I'm bored, and I just want to sleep. Maybe a movie tonight. Yeah...anything good playing? Probably not. When has that ever stopped us before? The search continues...

I have a to-do list in my head and it just never seemed to make it past my nerve endings to my hand. Hmmm...procrastination, anyone?  So here goes (not in any particular order):

1. Apply to grad schools.

2. Find grad schools to apply to.

3. Take the GRE Subject Test in Psychology or the GRE General Test.

4. Figure out which one I need.

5. Lose mucho weight...as in 30-40 pounds at least, so that I can look decent as a bridesmaid in one of my good friend's wedding this upcoming summer.

6. Try to figure out a social life while taking a lot of hard courses.

7. Read all of the books I've bought this summer but hasn't had the time to read as of yet.

8. Figure out what I want to do in grad school/life.

9. Go to Buzzfest in Houston in October.

10. Pay off credit card bills.

11. Figure out what makes me happy most and try to embrace it.

12. Be bold.

I do have others, but I don't quite remember what they are...

The fortune in my cookie is jumping ahead of itself...

"Your lover will never wish to leave you"

Yeah...that would be nice if I happened to HAVE a lover...har-de-har-har. Perhaps I should save it and switch it out of another fortune cookie when I do happen to have one...Yeah...that's the ticket! Not that I'm looking for one, but if they happen to fall into my lap and i happen to dig them, then so be it. ;)

Speaking of fortune...Pirates of the Caribbean 2 was pretty good, except for the whole being half of the finale. Yep, Pirates was the first half of the second half of the trilogy--if that makes any sense. Yay!

Also good is Talladegga Nights (ms). Very funny and I even had something of an epiphany while watching it--scary, I know! They had a part where Will Ferrell's character is made to realize that he tends to love the wrong people--those that will leave him and that made me wonder: Am I like that? I mean I seem to have the tendency to let myself fall for those that either disappoint or betray me. I have a lot of examples, but mainly it's my father. He has constantly disappointed me: never standing up to my demon-spawn of a step-monster, never being there for me for school plays or birthdays, choosing to spend his money on his stupid pure breed cats instead of really helping me or my sibling with college, and the list goes on. Yet, I find myself constantly searching for his approval. I've had it when he can brag on my wonderful GPA, yet, lose it when he notices that I've gained weight. Whatever happened to parental unconditional love, eh? So much for that. Ok..rant over--I promise! Mucho love to friends!
