Techno Fair today. Which means it was like a field trip at work

Came home earlyish and now I'm being a domestic goddess. I turned on the laptop to turn on some music, but of course I got distracted by things like Scrabble and blogging. You evil people!
Yesterday I didn't do any heavy exercise, but I took my best friend to dinner (she got a salad, I got a black bean burger and salad... but we both got a bit of tortilla soup, which is mostly just cheese). Then the exercise part - I made her walk with me to my library - and I picked out two books for her to check out - Dahl's
Matilda (which I'm ashamed she had never read) and Anderson's
Catalyst. The latter is good, quick YA. ... and four books for me, of course.
Today it's raining on and off - absolutely gorgeous, though! Kaylee and I sat on the porch after lunch. She sat on my lap and looked around while I spied on a small rabbit sleeping in the tall grass.
I had tilapia, green beans, and half an ear of corn for lunch. Made some green chai and it's in the fridge chillin'. I like the spices and don't need to sweeten my tea. Plain iced makes me happy. Sometimes I'll put in soy milk, but that's mostly on cold days. I don't have any soy milk at home at the moment anyway.
Doing laundry and some light cleaning. Maybe I'll do some yoga later, since the rain will prevent biking and I don't want to drive eight miles to go to the gym.
Tomorrow Steve doesn't work, but I'm having him pick up food at his store tonight for cooking for dinner tomorrow. We have a fish fillet here that I said we could split, but he did not sound enthused. So I suggested bison spaghetti and veggies. He asked if that was diet friendly, and I said it'd be okay if he got "good" pasta and lots o' veggies. It feels good to be good. Or at least moderate

Pappadeaux and Cold Stone ice cream cake for my birthday in about three months. You're welcome to join us. You get to pay for your own seafood, but I'll give you a piece of ice cream cake for free because I like you

Oh yeah, one more thing. I got a CD and note from Portland yesterday from a guy named Curt. I don't think I know any Curts. Any ideas?

You are wicked. I do know one or two other people in Portland, but I've never heard the nickname Curt used in conjunction with them.@harmony0stars -
I think I've read almost all of Dahl's work, including the adult stuff. I think the story you're talking about is called "Lamb to the Slaughter." It was a leg of lamb or something that she hits him over the head with. It's brilliant! You are so delightful in your reading tastes.I think Chai tastes like Thanksgiving. I love it.
Oooh iced cream cake! I'd go for both free dessert and the cake. Just saying. It's iced cream cake and that is somewhere close to manna for me.
A techno fair sounds like a fun experience.
I haven't had IceCream cake in YEARS! mmmmmmmm
If it's a really good CD and you really like it, maybe I'm Curt and I went to Portland to mail it?
Maybe not.
Oh yeah, wild urban rabbits...so rare in Colorado, but I always see them here, and that's cool.

The Chocolate Factory sequel was not Dahl's best, but reading out loud words like Vermicious Knid always makes up for it. Let's say, for example, I read the first book ten times a year (which I don't). I'd probably follow it up with Elevator 1-3 times.@ydurp -
Sure, being hot for my birthday would be awesome. The real impetus for really committing to health was a recent trip Steve and I made to the mall. He wanted a new shirt and a refill on his cologne, and I tried on a few things as well. I looked and felt hideous and wanted to cry/die. I decided that enough was enough. For my health, my self-esteem, the health of the economy, and the health of the environment, I need to change my habits.I've been unusually tired lately, so I'm trying my own diet experiment. Cutting out starches completely. So far I've not actually been able to do it, but I'm Working up to it. If it makes me feel better I'll continue. I've had no energy for exercise, which stinks.
I'm all alone until tomorrow afternoon. But then in the afternoon Danielle will come and we'll go pick up our boys from their work event! Yay!
