    Such Love

I wrote this one for a specific person, but I kept it tucked away in my desk for at least 3 months. After a few changes, I decided to post it. Please everyone comment and let me know what you think of this poem. It is a bit personal, so it may not make sense to most...sorry!

Oh and if I don't respond or comment on something, it's because my internet is having problems, so I can't get online very often...

    Hope all is well

    Sam

    beyond the pearl curtain

    tales woven into an art

    whence existed such an era?

    forever robbed of nonchalant thoughts

yet a time lived so eloquently

    logical thinking permanently in hiding

    wasted out to sea

    what leaves her so ravished

a fake dress of dark eminence

    governing a peaceful country

    imprisoned upon her own earth

forced to watch the suicide in the west

how could one turn from such love?

    nailed hate upon her doorpost

    keep tossing the crumpled trash

then a spell changed yet to stones

what i steal from never ends

the responsible all asleep in bed

such is thrust upon, i gladly take

and spit in the face of weak defeat

    Wish

I was told to write a metaphorical poem for my 10th grade English class. This is what I came up with. The poetry may be difficult to understand. I wrote it based on feelings I have had. Desire. Want. Longing. I then realized that my poem could not only relate to need or desire, but also be a metaphor for physical hunger and starvation.  It is about miners and their bad luck with striking "yellow" in an emptycave. If everyone could put forth their thoughts and ideas about this metaphorical poem, it would be greatly appreciated. Feedback is wanted! Thanks and enjoy!

    -Sam

    ~

    the earth confronts steel

    undressed, dull tones exposed

    absence of treaure sends

    the conquered back home

    yet still a gnawing,

    a craving for fulfillment

    without comes certain failure

    revert to striking walls

    so vacant a cavern

    ramparts wailing in throe

    Within

A poem that expresses how inexcusable acts of racism are (whether commited in a subtle or obtuse manner) and to what extreme they can be taken to. I myself am Jewish and deal with it every day while among other teenagers. It may not be serious, but it still exists.  All we can do is educate them and attempt to put an end to hate crimes and discrimination. Teaching others who are ignorant can help open their minds and decrease their natural fear of the unknown. It's not a very well written poem, but I still wanted to post it, so if everyone could share their thoughts and ideas about this that would be great. Until next time,   -Sam

     Sly words trigger choked-upon answers

Blood and color...no reason to ask her

    Waves of harrasment finally crest

The strong water building a tower of stress

Cleanse our Earth, discriminate this disease

Set flame upon those ridiculous books they read

Skin shades, judgement based upon religion, or kin

    Shatter tranquility, strike from within!

Their weapons of Hatred pierce paper shields

Difference hurts, your blade now a blunt sheet of steel

A fool's battle, born of the fear of opening minds

Take more than offense, seek for, Destroy their LIES!

    Wreath of Green

Here is a poem that I wrote for school. Adamission12 wrote the second stanza (with a few of my own personal changes). It might not make much sense, but please everyone comment on share your views on your interpretation of this poem. Thanks!

    Peace

    -Sam

a merry chain of nature's spades
    sunlight's compromise with the waves
below a deep and lovely stream
    without remorse, eyes flashing green

flicker of light so bright the gleam
    cultivate thoughts from hopeless dreams
a new thought born of the sky's demise
these aches and pains begin tonight

opaque soldiers defend my only                                                                                                                         means of interpreting visual glory                                                                                                                        breathe the poison rising above                                                                                                                            a lonely glow, your forgotten

    love.
