You know you can't get enough of cute babies! Jason and I have decided to capture Eliza's first year with regular shoots with a local photographer. This is her first session, at 3 weeks old!

| The First Five Weeks
Well, Eliza is nearly 7 weeks old now, and I still haven't given y'all much beyond "Dude I Had A Baby", so I guess I should tell you more. The birth story is still in the process of being written, so the gory details are not ready to be posted. But,I can say that these past 6.5 weeks have been both the best and the worst days of my life. The worst because I have never, ever been so frustrated with my body, nor have I ever tried to function on so little sleep. And the best because, well, she's my little angel, no matter how much she cries.
Overall, things are good. I am tired all the time, I barely leave the house, and breastfeeding is not going so well, but overall, things are good. On the breastfeeding thing, why does something so natural have to be so goddamned hard?! Being well-endowed in the boobage has made it more difficult than I expected, and as a result, we are only just now getting a consistently good latch. In the meantime, I have been pumping and bottle-feeding her, so at least she's been getting mama's milk. So help me, I will pump forever if it means she gets the best possible food, because supply is not my issue. Cracked and bleeding nipples, those were the issue.
Anyway, enough talk of the tits! I'm sure none of you really came here to read that, so without further ado, I give you what you surely did come here for: pictures of baby Eliza! These photos range from less than a week old to about 5 weeks old in the last one. You can really see how she's grown!

| She's Heeeeeeeeere!
Eliza Marguerite made her grand entrance into the world on Wednesday, June 6 2007 at 10:47am! She weighed in at a hefty 9lbs 5oz (ow!) and 21" long. Both Jason and I are thrilled to have her finally here! The gory, graphic, detailed birth story will come at a later time, when I am less shell-shocked, a little more rested and time is on my side. Right now, breastfeeding around the clock has me drained! Until then, some pics:

| Mmm...
Warm summer night + friends + fire pit + chocolate, marshmallows & graham crackers = one very nice evening.
Still no baby. Though my husband is absolutely convinced that I will go into labour and actually give birth at any moment, with no warning whatsoever.

| The World Is Ending!
So, now that I'm all done work, I've filed my EI claim. I did it all online, and it took me less than half an hour. Next step: take in my ROEs (Records of Employment, for you non-Canucks) to a Service Canada centre so they can verify them against my online claim. So, I did that today. I spent less than 5 minutes in line, only to be met with a very cheerful and helpful government agent who took less than 30 seconds of my time. The whole experience was over and done with in less time than it takes to place your order at the drive thru.
I can't help but wonder how they'll screw up my claim to make up for this very pleasant experience.
