Dear adoring friends,
I am sorry I haven't written anything on here for months. I realized how much I was neglecting y'all when I checked in the middle of last week and I had a bunch of footprints. There are a number of new things in my life: friends, church, and college. The friends mostly come from different aspects of the other two, so I'll mention them while I'm discussing other subjects (just to give my English teacher heebie-jeebies). My spring semester is composed of sixteen credit hours worth of classes, which includes English 102, Biology 103, Theatre 120 (appreciation), Math 113 (Trigonometry), and History 101 (western civ). All my classes save math are at a campus which is only thirty minutes away from home rather than an hour and a half, so I'm happy about that. I seem to have connected better with people this semester compared to the last one. I really can't think of anything different that I'm doing so maybe it's the people I'm around, but I actually have friends at college now. One of them I have known for years, but we haven't been in contact for a number of years so we have been catching up a little bit. She was a big help in opening the door of getting to know some of the other people in some of my classes, but I'm pretty sure I would have ended up friends with them anyways. I have a biology lab partner this semester so I get to pick on her which is loads of fun, and she doesn't mind.
Since my college ramble was so boring I shall endeavor to make my spiel about my new church worth reading, that way your time wont be completely wasted. I can't really tell what made me move but I can tell you what sparked it. The Franklins whom I am good friends with decided to check out a home church, and then they moved to it. Well I decided to surprise them and just show up one morning, and I have yet to miss another Sunday. The atmosphere is very conducive to actually listening, learning, and teaching. Why I say teaching is because after the sermon there is a period of discussion where the floor is open to anyone who wishes to say something that even loosely fits in with the sermon. It could be about how the Bible verses touched you, or how to apply the principle to life. Even if you say something that not everyone agrees with you wont be put down or looked down upon. Then after the sermon there is what is always encouraging to a young man: pot luck lunch! While I will admit that I enjoy the lunch a lot I would still go to this church if they decided to quite the lunch since they feed the soul. The family that hosts the church are old friends of the family, but I've only gotten to know them well recently. I don't know why but they have really taken to me which is a little weird as instead of feeling like I'm imposing on them by staying late I almost feel like I'm disappointing them by leaving early.
If I haven't answered any questions that you might have about my life, then feel free to pry ; )

It's not fair!...

I know we all have met kids that spout that like it's some kind of mantra that will get them what they want in life, and I'm pretty sure we all have felt that way at one time or another (I know I have). The question is, is life being unfair a good thing or a bad thing? After all if life was fair we would all get the judgment that we chose when we turned our backs on God. It's not fair that Jesus had to die for our sins; true He chose to do so, but that doesn't make it fair. If life was fair we would all get the same things, and what in the world would be the fun in that? I feel for those who are truly being oppressed by evil men who think the only way to get ahead in life is to step on their neighbor, but many of the oppressed have found greater treasures than the oppressors will ever find, is that fair? So, life is not fair, and that in my opinion is a good thing. The Bible says that God is a just God and a loving God, but no where in the Bible have I seen it written that God is a fair God, and I thank God for that. If He was fair He would have left us to what we had chosen, instead He acted very unfairly and continued to love even to the point of death. So people, you can clamor for the deck that is fair if you want, however I like how the unfair deck is stacked.

P.S. Next time you hear a little kid (or a grown up) say, "it's not fair!", feel free to tell them what they are really asking for.

Yes I know I haven't been on here in forever, and I know that I promised y'all a long in depth description of my summer, well it's not here yet. However I can tell you a tale or two about college life, I decided to ease into college, and therefore I only am taking three classes: Biology 101, English 101, and Math 112. I have two excellent teachers in Math and Biology, and a good teacher in English so I count myself blessed. My favorite is of course Biology and the teacher has noticed me, I would even say that he likes me which is partly because I actually participate in class. I managed to get a 96% on my first test, which proceeded to be bumped up to a 101%, as long as I can keep up that kind of score I'll be very happy. My first Math test was last friday so I'll soon know if I was paying enough attention to the class, I feel pretty good about it. Oh, I forgot to say that I'm attending Southern Union's Opelika campus, so any of you who go there I'm around. I even saw one of my friends on my first day in the hall way but unfortunately I didn't manage to talk to him and I haven't seen him again. Okay I know it's not much but at least it is something, if you really want more feel free to comment in that general vein.

Hey y'all,

I just thought I'd let you know I'm back, someday you will get a description of my adventures out in the wilds of Wyoming but right now I'm a little busy and it's a long tale, so not now. It's good to be home.

Hey y'all, I thought I'd let you all know that I'll be gone for a long while. Tomorrow (Thursday June 14) I'll be leaving for Wyoming, once there I'll be helping staff Mt. Top (which is totaly AWESOME!), so everyone that's going look out. I plan on having a lot of fun but making sure that all the students have even more fun then I'm having. Then right after Mt. Top comes in I'll be going out one the 40/40 which is forty days and forty nights out in the wilderness. So I might have access to a computer in the first few days that I'm there (or I might not), but after those I'm out of contact until August 13th. Have fun in whatever y'all are involved in, and I'll write some completely inadequate description of my travels on here when I get home and have some time. Feel free to pray!
