| Where's Waldo Trevor Post Type: Personal Mood: Content Can you find me??? I'm there somewhere Put which slide you find me in, down in the comments. The Memorial day picnic was lots of fun. I played some volleyball, watched some volleyball, ate some good food, and chased the boys around for awhile, just trying to keep track of them.I think it took me a full day to recooperate from all that fun, but I'm feeling fine now. | | |
| Thank you Lord Post Type: Personal Mood: Happy, getting excited. I wondered today, with the weather the way it is, if I should invest in a solar cover for my pool. It would make it so I can swim more in May and October, when the evenings are cooler, but the days are nice enough to swim. The evenings in those months, cool the water down too much tho. Then I realized, only a spoiled rotten laodicean American can wonder whether or not to get a solar cover for his pool. Thank you Lord, for all the blessings on my life. If I'm wondering if I should get a pool cover, I must be doing pretty good. ------------ In other news, the fam is travelling to Florida for another "preaching vacation" at the beginning of June. Headed to West Palm Beach area to speak at Bro Jack's church again. Yes, that was the last place I travelled to, to preach at. I'm so popular, I just go everywhere!! I joke about that, but really, I am very fine with it. I only want to go where God wants me to go, and I've spent the last 6 months doing Sunday School here in Jeff. It's been a huge challenge, as I've never had to had something to speak about once a week before for such an extended period of time. I've been learning lots about grace, and about patience. Patience is so much more than I ever thought it was. So much more. Well, back at it. Later folks!

| If Calvin and Hobbes were a Christian Comicstrip Post Type: Personal Mood: Happy, but getting tired.
Can you guess who this is?? We've had all kinds of fun playing in the snow the last few days. We went sledding yesterday afternoon, and today we made snowmen. This was a pretty good snow in a couple days time. The great part is, it should be 60-70 degrees very soon. So it's nice to know winter is almost over, but that we could still have one last (or the first of the season) hurrah in a big snow. AGRH!! The kids just went back outside. Looks like I have to suit up again. I need dry socks!
| Happy Birthday Sweetie!! Post Type: Personal Mood: Content and Full. My dear darling wife turned 30 today! We left the kids with Grandma and went out for a nice dinner. I had a gift card for Cheesecake factory, so we decided that would be great. Wow! What a meal. I had the "Bang-bang shrimp and chicken" and AnnaMay had the "Shrimp Scampi and Steak Diana" combo. Both were very tasty! The cheesecake was excellent. This was probably the best cheesecake I've ever had. Honestly, I just kinda figured they wouldn't really have good cheesecake. I mean, they SHOULD have good cheesecake, but I just kinda figured, they wouldn't. I didn't think they'd live up to their name, but the cheesecake was excellent. The only thing that makes me scratch my head, is for a restaurant that is as fancy as that one is, and I'll admit, it's not OVERLY fancy - I don't feel like I'd be out of place in a t-shirt and jeans there, but I didn't expect the butter for the free bread to come in the little "land o' lakes" packets. You know, the little rectangle ones. The ones that if they are cold, wont spread, and if you try to spread it, it will shred your bread to smitherines. (I don't think I've ever typed the word smitherines in my life before...it's kinda neat). Anyhoo... I just expected whipped butter in a little dish with a cute lil butter knife, but we got packets. How hard would it be for them to do the butter in a dish thing? It's fancy enough for that, the little packets felt so diner-ish. But not to dwell on that, the food was excellent! Best dinner I've had in quite awhile. I actually can't remember the last time I enjoyed my food that much. After dinner, we strolled through the St. Matthews mall, in search of a gift of some kind for my lovely wife. We stopped at Williams-Sonoma(I just love that store) and I bought a nut-chopper!! Mom used to have one of these, and every time I need chopped nuts I wish I had it. It's the cool kind with the crank, and the jar underneath. Not the cheap kind that has a plunger on it and you bang it down into the waiting nuts below, killing your wrist and not doing a good job of chopping nuts.
Nut Chopper We walked around some more, and stopped by a Kay Jewelery, to find out yet again, that jewelry is just so expensive! AnnaMay would like a mother necklace with birthstones of each of the kids. One day we'll do that sweetie!! Then we stopped by GNC on the way out, and I got some vitamins that I hope will help my knee not hurt, and keep me healthy and strong!! Saturday will be an exciting day, as I go get One of these. That I've been wanting for a very long time now. Don't worry, I found a SUPER deal on a used one. Gotta love Craigslist sometimes. Well, guess that's all for now! Happy Birthday Sweetie!!

| Where is Tony really from?? Post Type: Personal Mood: This should be fun. Yes!! I met Tony finally!! I had to go to NYC for a work trip, so I hit Tony up and told him to come and meet me. We got together last Saturday, and Tony showed us around went with us to see some of the sights in NYC.
Here's Tony in the elevator of the Empire State Building. Being that He's from NYC, we figured that he'd be able to tell us at least how to get there. Nope. He hadn't a clue. No worries, Tony's a New Yorker, he knows how to judge if a person standing in the Subway platform would be open to giving directions. (You just can't ask any old person directions...if they do speak your language, they probably will act as if they don't just so you go away) Turns out, Tony didn't ask anyone for directions...I did. No worries tho, Tony is a New Yorker, it'll be nice to have him along, because those people at the Empire State building want to sell us a map for 8 dollars to tell us what is what from the 86th floor view. "Hey Tony, what bridge is that?" "I dunno man, I live in Queens." "Hey Tony, what's that really tall building with the funny roof?" "I dunno man, I live in Queens." I think I know more about NYC than Tony does. On the hour long trip it takes to get through the line, and up the 2 elevators, etc, to get to the 86th floor observatory. We got into a conversation about biblical things. We talked about the woman who dropped the rock on top of the bad guy's head, (since we were high up and there were windows), and someone made a reference to pushing Jezebel out the window. I asked, "and who was the guy that was in the chariot asking for someone to 'throw her down'?" Nate didn't know, but Tony did!!! So, I can only conclude, that Tony is NOT, in fact, from New York. Rather I believe that like the saints of old, He is declaring plainly that he is a pilgrim and a stranger here on earth, seeking a country to come. (Heb 11:13-14 reference) SO, the question is... DO YOU, dear reader, know who was in the chariot?? Put your answer in the comments. NO LOOKING IT UP!! (Tony didn't) And make sure you have your answer before clicking on comments, or you'll see other peoples answers. Be an honest Christian now!!
