| Time heals all wounds......maybe not allHey all. I'm not dead! I really should sit down and write a reallllly long update... but I just don't have the time! tomorrow, actually later today, I'm going to Michigan with a bunch of my friends. It should be pretty fun. I'm glad for the break in school. I'm having to deal with some issues from my past that I thought I was safe from, especially at a Christian college. Pray for me in that aspect. Other than that life's been pretty decent. My grades are definately not what I would like them to be, but they're not horrible. I earth science (my hardest class by far) I had my second exam last week. I picked up the test on monday and found out I got a 68. That's REALLY bad. its a D. The sad thing is that of the 4 people who picked up our tests together, I scored the highest. I think about 75% of the people in there are failing the class. Now, as a professor, if you saw that 3/4 of your class was failing, wouldn't you think just maybe you're not getting the message across????? Thankfully he gave us bonus points which bumped my grade up to a C. Which, combined with my other grades gives me a B in the class. Enough ranting about earth science. I've spent WAY too much time in the theatre in the last 2 weeks. I spent two all-nighters there. its crazy insane. oh yes. I must go, but I will write again!

| Haha.Well, I didn't make the cheerleading team. So you guys can be relieved of the embarassment. lol. I REALLY DON'T LIKE EARTH SCIENCE!!!!!!! Okay, Done ranting. Sorry about that. I'm going out to a place called Young's tonight with my crazy friends. Apperently it has the best Ice cream in the world, so we'll see how that goes. And there's mini-golf. With Corwin that should be AMAZING. lol ~Rachel | | |
| Brief update and a confessionHey guys, One of my classes was cancelled today so I thought I'd give a quick update. Everything is going great, I'm making lots of new incredible friends (most of them I met on facebook before I got here) My unit-mates and RA are AMAZING! Its so much fun to be around them and I think its going to be a great year. There are lots of repetetive freshman meetings and such, but I'm sure it will get better. I hardly have any homework yet, which I'm grateful for. I'm taking 6 classes: Intro to Theatre, Intro to Communication arts, Christian Life and Thought, Principles of Earth Science, Intro to Music Theory, and Stagecraft I. Yes, I HAVE already gotten in 'trouble' some of you already know. If you dying of curiosity, message me and I'll tell you. Now for the confession. I'm am kind of ashamed to tell you all this. I have turned to the dark side. There is no dancing allowed at Cedarville, so I was forced to find a differetn outlet. I'm am trying out to be a cheerleader. I know, I KNOW! you are all going to kill me when you read this. But I PROMISE you, I will not become a stupid blonde airhead. Though I might learn to throw a back-handspring. ~Rachel | | |
| TomorrowAs of tomorrow I will be gone. I am leaving tomorrow morning for school. I will be driving all day Thursday and arrive in Cedarville that evening. I will be moving in on friday and Saturday. I have music auditions on sunday. If I don't answer e-mails and such the next few days, thats why. If you want my new e-mail address message me!

| Message on the MetroI was on my way home from work today, sitting on the metro, listening to my iPod like I always do. I had the unfortunate opportunity to get on one of those trains that is to closeto the one in front of it and so it is always stopping in the middle of the tunnels. But now I'm kind of glad I boarded this train. As the train came to a complete stop in the middle of the tunnel, I looked out the door window across from me, and I saw something that just shot a bolt through me. I don't know why, but it just made me freeze. There are long lights on the side of the metro, and the top of all of these are caked with dirt. Writtin in the dirt, the light shining through the letters, someone had written a message. "Why do fools walk in the rain?". And that was it. That's all it was. It just gave me a shock, I guess it came from seeing a profound question written in the most unlikely place imaginable. I looked around the train, but nobody else seemed to have noticed it. Then the train started moving again and it was gone. Its highly unlikely that anyone will ever see that again. As I was walking to the slugline I was just thinking about this question. "Why do fools walk in the rain?" and I finally came up with my answer. They don't. I once heard a quote that I whole-heartedly agree with and is the basis for my answer. "Some people walk in the rain, others just get wet." The fools are not the ones who walk in the rain. The fools are the ones who walk outside and are suddenly denched with water and a depression of spirit because life is not going their way. They can't see that life is to short to care about things that temporarily make you uncomfortable, like the weather. They are so focused on their rain cloud that they can't look around and see that it may be raining harder on someone else. The people who walk in the rain are the ones who enjoy it for what it is. Have hope for the future, and see no reason not to dance in the rain along the way. The are the ones who realize that even if it is dark, and poring rain for a long, long time......Life has to have some rain in order for the sun to shine. The few that understand that your life is not complete until you walk in the rain without just getting wet. ~Rachel | | |
