But if you’re addicted to something, doesn’t that rule out choice? No, it doesn't.
Some time ago, humans became aware of a substance called tobacco and started to smoke it. After a while they realized it gave them cancer and put warning labels on the products saying it would kill them. Millions of people continued to ignore this warning and still do to this very day.
Let's be rational here- if you don't know that cigarettes are addictive and harmful, maybe you should rethink existence in the 21st century. The media is inundated,
plagued by ads against this product that will GIVE PEOPLE CANCER and KILL THEM. We're well aware. Keep the ads going, but please don't give me this rhetoric about peoples'
choices being taken away because they willingly addicted themselves to the product.
I have lost countless hours of my life to video games. Do I blame Sony for the money I lost by not working instead of wasting my life away on an addiction? Wow, gee, NO, I don't. Why not? Because THAT DOESN'T MAKE ANY FUCKING SENSE. If the government starts slipping liquid meth into the water supply and entire towns become addicted to amphetamines, then we'll have someone to blame. It's not the public's fault, it would have no choice in the matter.
Here's truth:
Smokers make the decision to smoke. They are responsible for their bodies.
How can you even pretend to think otherwise?
