Ok so I'm gonna update this thing because I should...guesswhat THE STL CARDINALS WON THE WORLD SERIES and weeeeeeee aaaaaaarrrreee the chaaaaaaaampions....I love our Cards so much. I am a bit hoarse from yelling too much. Been glued to the TV too much recently for the games, haha.

Lessee...youth group is coming over for a party...and we're making it a COSTUME party which i'm really excited about! I'll take pictures.

School has not only been owning my soul, it has pretty much been selling little bits of it away. That's right. I am going soul-less. My beautiful new laptop died and lost everything on it which was bad enough except that I had like five school projects on it which put me a WEEK behind on ALL my schoolwork. I am finally caught up but very very exhausted from trying to make deadlines.

If you think about it, pray for my brother...he's going through some stuff at school including possibility of losing a scholarship, and so his college future may be up in the air.

Mmm so it's been a long time since i wrote here obviously...technically there's not a whole lot going on in my life other than schoolwork because grad school  is triple the amount of work as undergrad stuff, even though Olivet's history courses weren't all easy. I'm starting to think that besides 'mother', librarian is the most under-lauded and behind-the-scenes job.  I mean seriously, what do librarians look like they're doing? Checking books in and out of the library, shelving them, and probably taking a bunch of the books home themselves every night, yeah?   Yeeeeah there's a lot more to it than that.

But it's a good challenge so I'm happy right now except when my cataloguing class decides to own my soul every few days *shakes fist*.  I'm probably (ok not probably, if dad doesn't get working on it i'll go by myself) still going to London in early November for a few days, awfully excited about that   Will get to go out sightseeing and take way too many pictures of everything.

Barton is coming home for fall break and my parents are all excited and I don't remember them being this excited about ME coming home, grrr. He's broken his arm, the silly sod, playing tennis, and done a bunch of other hurtful things to himself trying to be cool, but that's just teenage-boy-syndrome I guess. I rented a movie last night though that turned out to be awesome, Snatch, and I'll keep it around for him so we can have a little movie-time together.....ok so I'm kind of excited to have him back too. I can't believe I just admitted that.

Eeeeps so grad school starts tomorrow! Ok well the next day, but i'm settling in for a looong 10 days. Seriously, trying to cram 2 credit hours into ten days is ridiculous but they're going to go for it at U of I. -_-   <--that is my not-amused face. My disapproving face.

The good news: I got an illinois state scholarship that's going to pay for all $15k of my grad school tuition...so I will shut my mouth about the worries of schoolwork because God took care of the financial worries. Which are ultimately more worrysome. Thank you Lord!

This summer has been boring and laid back and lazy and all around just what I needed...I was becoming such a sour and crochety old woman. (Corinne's going to say "what do you mean 'becoming'...you've been that way for three years...")  I'm learning to have fun in small doses...I got totally wasted the other night. Ok so you can't really get wasted on a bottle of Mike's hard cranberry-lemonade since it's only 5% alcohol. I'd have gotten more drunk off Aqua Net hairspray. To be honest 'Mike's' had all the effect of sparkling grape juice, but it did taste very nice and i generally loathe the taste of alcohol, and i really really wanted to get carded at the gas station...just ONCE in my life. Now that I can't get thrown out of Olivet. heehee :P   I'm so lame. I can't party hard  and don't even want to *grins* Although I did share with my brother back home while we were watching a movie so technically I gave alcohol to a minor *gasp* OH THE CORRUPTION!

So as you can see, my summer has been majorly full and eventful and productive!!!

We maaaay be taking a family vacation out to Wyoming with friends to stay at their lodge, they've got kids our age and it'll be quite relaxing. Actually scratch that...the girl is barton's age, and the guy is my age...the girl has a crush on my brother, and the guy is gay...so let's see...it'll be quite relaxing for me because I won't get hit on at all and I can just be friendly, but Barton may get his limbs torn off by the siblings feuding over him. I look forward to this soap opera...Perhaps I shall call it..."The Young and the Wild-West-less".  Anyway, we might get to go white-water rafting down the Snake River where people apparently die on occasion so whee an exciting vacation!

So I'll leave it at that and go pack for orientation tomorrow. First time school situations stress me out so much, argh. And as far as I can tell, I'm the only under-25-er in the program...grad school is for old people so perhaps I AM a grumpy old woman after all. I like group projects with adults though. They actually pull their own weight.
